Rock Pikmin would be redundant with Purple Pikmin around. I mean, I guess they could be stronger, but that'd throw off balance unless they were very rare.

I doubt it. Luigi will likely be an unlockable again, and he isn't a third party character, so he won't be revealed before the game's launch.

Would be pretty weird if Sakurai & Team added the new captain Alph and hooked him up with the same RBY Pikmin along with the flying & rock pikmin at his disposal instead of purple & white.

It would make some unique dynamics but would also most likely be a clone/hard to make unique moves to separate him from Olimar.

Background of the stage looks cool, and good to see Olimar and more specifically the pikmin behind him. Him and ice climbers seemed like the 2 main roadblocks the 3ds one might have had.

No pictures of Olimar for the 3ds version though... In fact, that's a trend for several characters. I guess it really is behind in development.
