Super Mushroom confirmed?
No kidding? I've played Brawl for so many hours but I really can't remember that. I could've sworn he said "Captain Olimar". I barely ever play(ed) as him though. You're probably right.
Not in the PAL version though. He simply says 'Olimar'
That brings back the moves question!
Yeah, I booted it up to check and I'm misremembering apparently. He only says Olimar in Brawl modes, but he says Pikmin & Olimar in the classic mode intro.
Evidently I've been playing too much SP Smash Bros ;(
Bit late, but I'd really like it if they gave Pikachu some fur, it's starting to look a bit too plasticky.
Even if Pikachu is a mouse I have never thought of him as "furry, it would just look weird. Has anyone actually thought he would look better with realistic fur?Bit late, but I'd really like it if they gave Pikachu some fur, it's starting to look a bit too plasticky.
Well I do have a couple of ideas on how it could work. Much like Sheik and PKMN Trainer, do the transformation with B-Down. Let it switch between Red, Blue and Green or Pink (would go with the latter since she's more combat oriented and uses a whip, sort of like Ivysaur).
Make Red the slow-but-strong hitter. Good moves for KOs but slightly slow at racking up damage.
Blue could be the inverse, the one that racks up damage and does fast moves but doesn't necessarily do the best KO moves. Sonic is similar in that regard. Meanwhile Green/Pink have long-range "safe" moves.
Sky's the limit with that kind of setup but much like Pokemon Trainer there's an incredible lot of balance issues to be considered.
Whatever that thing is, it's not Pikachu.
What's the thing below it?
Is this Pikachu?

Today's the day for SSBM EVOOOOOOOOOO
So does this mean we're getting at least one character reveal every month?

I like how the Pikmin no longer look like they took no effort at all.
Well there is super luigi u and Mario and luigi dream team next week so there's that slim possibility for a luigi reveal for 2 days.

That kind of talk will likely leave you very, very disappointed when next month comes and goes without anything. Trying to predict Sakurai is a fool's game.

edit: Actually he doesn't do it there either. I made it all up! Bleh, I could've sworn they said it somewhere.

Um... Alpha?
Also, they just deleted that tweet. SPECULATE AMONGST YOURSELVES.

Nintendo is clueless about their fanbase, the market, and lately even game development. I wouldn't be surprised if they are clueless about their own products too. And I think that's what that tweet is showing.
They wrote Alpha on the FB post as well.![]()

So do you think this clueless tweeter thought it was Alph from Pikmin 3, put "Alpha" instead because he/she is that goofy, and then after making that mistake of a mistake, realized his/her mistake and changed it?
Precisely. It's increbible how bad Nintendo PR is lately. Not only they mistake Olimar for Alph, but they don't even know his name was changed from Alpha.

Unless there are no secret characters this time (possible, since he said the internet spoils everything anyway), I doubt he'll get revealed. He was not revealed on the dojo at all and was only announced after launch as a 'secret' character.
There is a possibility we'll get no 'secret' characters this time though, thanks to the internet. I still think we'll have to unlock them though.
As a Nintendo fan I expect only the best from them, every word, every picture, it must be perfection to the highest degree! A mistake like this is absolutely disgusting!Oh noes they got the name of a character wrong on twitter, Nintendo is DEAD to me.

Can't wait for the Little Macaroni and Queen Peachenstein announcements from Nintendo of America.
Nintendo is alive and well, but they seriously need to get their shit togheter with PR and advertising if they want to go somewhere.
Pointing how bad their PR is not overeacting. Jumping over someone that points it out kinda is.
Twitter and Facebook PR...oh boy end of the world. They just gone done made their company dead in the water. Good job Nintendo, YOU FUCKED UP!

That's just an example of a bigger problem. Youtube, Region Locking, and this week's Melee incident are bigger and better examples. What we're talking about is a trend of coming off as a company that doesn't understand what's good for its fans and good for its franchises, and doesn't take the time to try and improve that image.
P.S. I love Nintendo dearly.
Anyone notice there wasn't a special promo picture similar to what Mega Man, Wii Fit Trainer, and Villager got? Perhaps those are only for newcomers?
Any case, wasn't the biggest fan of him, but I look forward to trying him out again.

Were secrets characters ever "secret"? I remember reading about Gandondorf, Luigi, Mewtwo and Game and Watch in magazines back for Melee.
Yeah, Japan got Brawl a month before the US, so they were discovering all the secrets before us.Isn't that because the japanese game came out first, so all of the 'secret' roster was revealed before it made it out west?
