FireMage is back!

Isn't the point of EMP to be a place to level up your game in exchange for Triforce taking part of your winnings and sending you out to tournaments? I don't think ChrisG has anything to gain from practicing with EMP guys except for Flocker. And probably not even Flocker, since more practice means Flocker will win even more than he does now.

It will 100% be Melee or, if it launches before CEO, the new Smash?

Jebailey said if Smash 4 launched in a reasonable timeframe, he'd run that game as well as Melee. But nothing is quite official yet, just that it's incredibly likely that Melee will be at CEO 2014 at least.

Nope, thats not the point of EMP. They aren't a sponsor.

That was the case a while ago, not sure if that even is the case now. Practice against Flocker wouldn't be a thing either since they're stationed on opposite ends of the coast.

And yeah, Chris G doesn't serve much to gain from them vs. a real, dependable sponsor. EG should be scouting.

Triforce takes their winnings?

Well, a Smash game will be there for sure, and honestly I hope it's the new one. I'm hype as fuck to play it

When I think of EMP I think of an agent. Agents try to negotiate deals for their clients and Triforce tries to find sponsors for his players.

I think Flocker is from Florida, Triforce has no access to him on a regular basis. I don't know what EMP does for Flocker, he didn't even have VxG next to his name at EVO.

Triforce has been very unsuccessful in that regard.

I wonder if AGE just hold on to certain players and drop the others.
According to Flash, they didn't inform him yet about he plans for the team

Sorta tempted to pick up SF3. And maybe Asura's Wrath.

How in the world would the new Super Smash Bros work at Evo.
Don't have a Wii U, but wouldn't controller issues be far worse than Dualshocks?

So, really random question. Was the Yipes match against the Wright player that put him into loser's recorded? I wanna see it if so.

Also, Enzo, get Asura. You'll be glad you did.

How many times does he have to debunk this rumor and explain what EMP does.

... and no good fighting game deals on PSN. :(
damn

CVS2 being released as a PS2 classic is cool though

And maybe Asura's Wrath.

It's a steal at that price, and the DLC is on sale too. The Nirvana DLC is required IMO because Capcom basically cut off the ending and sold it separately. The two Lost Episodes are fantastic if you care about SF. The other two (11.5 and 15.5) are worth it only if you want to consume every single thing related to Asura. They aren't done in the same style and don't add very much to the game.

Awesome! I love Smash, I'll try to keep up. I'm so bad at the game though... wish I knew people in my area that played.

Where do you live? Depending on where, there's likely a regional Facebook group you could join and meet up with some people. Smash players (and the community as a whole) are very welcoming and such.

I thought the primary purpose of EMP was the training group. I guess I don't know what it means for Flocker to be EMP if he doesn't get that access somehow.

What part was I wrong about? I know for sure that it's a training group. I also figure that Triforce takes part of the winnings, since nothing is free in life. I also assume that EMP helps pay for your tournaments, since otherwise that would be a goddamn ripoff. Plus, we just had all those stirrings about EMP players not coming to Evo because the money wasn't there. Really, help me understand.

And I don't listen to podcasts and such, so I've never heard Triforce talk about EMP before except when matches happened to be on.

Seeing how the Melee community carried themselves over the weekend was the most impressing thing about my EVO 2013 experience. I believe these guys are truly the most hardworking people when it comes to fighting games. I mean, I would see the dudes going at it before the doors opened, going at it with casuals while pools were running, when the finals were going and even late Sunday when everyone left the main event room.

The hype, man... They were going insane at pools, at the semis, and the top 8 finals were amazing. I can't think of any other game more deserving to come back to EVO 2014 than a (by next year) 13-year old game.

I had a lot of awesome experiences over the weekend, but I will say that I really want to play Smash way over Marvel due to the dedication they showed. Good shit, guys.

Seriously. This so much.

Does anybody have experience with those portable screen things for ps3s/xbox i saw a bunch of them being used at evo including knives/fanatic going at it on one of them and wondering if they are worth the price

As Triforce said EMP is development company. The only people paying rent are the members that live at the arc, Bloody Bison aka RED does not pay rent because he bought out his room. As for the winnings thing he said they can choose to donate some of their winnings to the arc and he does not take/demand any.

Huh, i thought the first part about being a group to train up was true though. =O

They don't actually have anywhere to train. Hence them going to Battle Circuit like everyone else. It's not like theyre disconnected from the NYC scene as a whole (Lincoln shows up to my place alot, etc.)

Basically EMP is supposed to be a development company which tries to find sponsors for players.

Smash is killer on the hands. Especially if you play Fox or something.

Marvel is nice and passive.
Maybe you should stop playing faceroll characters and find out how intense Marvel can be.

Okay, so why on earth would Flocker become EMP?

If EMP is not a sponsor, why was it paying for its members' trips to Evo?

I think EMP is just like a "development" thing that finds actual sponsors for players. Or something.

Apparently a lot until Triforce learns how to communicate rationally and coherently.

EMP is like Bum's house of crack but to be associated with EMP means that Triforce can use you, your image, you accomplishment to make money but Triforce/EMP doesn't provide any kind of financial support to the players. That's how I understands it.
