Fighting Games Weekly | July 15-21 | Post-EVO Pillow Talk

Top 5 hypest moments of Evo is coming up. I really wanted to put me playing KI on stage in there, but it's about the show and not about my dream coming true. There is a slight nod at the end showing how the crowd actually reacted to KI being on stage.

Honestly might be one of the hypest videos I've ever made. ETA 30 mins.
Can't wait...

Justin "Marvelous" Wong HAS to be #1!

I'll definitely check it out.

Hmm... I'm going to guess.

KoF finals
Justin's MVC3 'Heroes Road' performance
PR Balrog's Balrogging of Infiltration
Xian's performance in GF

aaaaand... hmmm Angelic had me very hype, I have to say.
That might just be my love of Shuma Gorath bias however.
Tokido Murderfacing maybe?

Anchor hawk guy won vs ray ray for instance.

Yipes was 2 matches away from top 8. And quite honestly probably should have won vs paradigm too. he had a good run this evo imo.
Anchor Hawkeye has some good matchups, but that doesn't make him a good anchor. Watch the last Yipes match and how helpless Hawkeye was at making a comeback. He's a little less than Arthur levels of comeback potential.

Infitrations hakkan vs Rog

Mangos run

Justins Run

have to be 3 of the 5.

Dr. PeePee vs Armada and "One More Year" are also highlights, for me at least. (I'm kinda biased I guess in that regard, too)

I mean, look at this crowd surrounding PP vs Armada (this was Day 2 pools!):

I missed it live, but if I had watched it live, PR Balrog vs. Infiltration would have been the best EVO moment for me.

Otherwise it might be RayRay vs. Yipes or the Wong Train.

EDIT: Or that Dante teleport mixup against Phoenix. Actually that was probably it.

EDIT2: Watching Max' video now and he has it at #5 along with the rest of Cloud's play, nice.

You usually don't see Hakan and you definitely don't expect to see him during the EVO finals. People love to see Hakan because it looks like an underdog character for his silliness. And Infiltration managed to make a come back from three set points and the matches were all close.

That was more pr rog being a dumbie than infiltration being good with hakan. You'd never do a tap on gief, Honda, or hawk with loade ultra, why would u do it on hakan?? Or go for safe jumps that don't work on grapplers??

He won a game with Akuma, and hooray counterpicks!

You make it sound like you just need to counterpick to win a match, well that doesn't happen in a tournament of this caliber (and not against players of such level), why were the matches so close if it was just a counterpick? PR Rog's last round was bad, but that's because of nerves and at EVO mental strength is more important than anything else, this is why Reynald destroyed Woo during KOF's GF after being down 0-2, or Justin made a comeback against ChrisG. Infiltration after the match looked completely worn out. If you didn't feel the tension I don't know what to say.

That's cool, but not what I'm saying at all. Hakan is still a counter. The hype comes from the character, because he's unused but he's still a counter, and Infiltration has always had a pocket Hakan. Like getting hype to see Sagat being pulled.

Now you're just saying whatever you want to say. The answer to your initial question is that people like things you may not like.

i agree 100%. hawkeye is best as point or 2nd. other things i can't stand watching is hawkeyes without projectile assists backing him. they always get rushed down quick.

No the answer is people where hype because Hakan is viewed as bad character, so they wanted to root for the underdog. But in reality he isn't, Infiltration has always had a Hakan and I'm sorry I don't see the excitement in counterpicks. Thanks.

Which was exactly my initial answer to you:

Why were you even asking the question if you already knew the answer?

the matches I caught that I enjoyed the most was

OnlineTonys massacre on ChrisG
Infil and Rog
Wongs Comebacks
Verna on team money match.(Kim and MrKarate)
The near loss by Nemo against Ross. That was close
But Hawkeye's two best assists aren't even projectiles.
Rapid Slash hits are technically considered projectiles.

Not every team is designed for anchor play. Spencer teams are pretty much front loaded. Mind you in that last yipes match yipes dropped 2 combos that could have gotten him the win.

Not every team is designed for anchor play, but Zero/Vergil/Hawkeye can easily be reordered for better utility. My own team is not designed for anchor play - I try to burn XF1 or XF2, so I am sympathetic to your point.

Spencer teams are not inherently front-loaded. One of the best Spencer teams is Spencer/Sentinel/Akuma, which is Knives's team.

to me spencer sent akuma is Extremely front loaded. Its Spencer with 2 assists. the least front loaded spencer team is bees team which might not even be a spencer team but a frank west team instead tbh

o man I had a friend tell me that people are idiots and capcom is milking people.

When does the stupidity stop. They should of just put in the trailer "for competitive players, scrubs aren't welcome". Atleast they would get hate for something different than the "ultra mega super street fighter arcade at home edition" jokes. (not 100% serious)

I had to tell my friend that the game isn't for him and for casuals. The update is meant for people who actually play the game. He got all butthurt about it and the funny thing is he only bought SSF4 and plays it only when I or other people who play fighting games come over.
