Super Smash Bros Wii U and 3DS: Info Collection - Dojo, Mega Man and Trailer! 2014!

My argument was they should include gen 6 pokemon trainer, to market. And pay some respect to the Pokemon series, where its going.

And I have held that ground, and you agree with me.

Who's argument is pointless? We wasted time because you didn't agree how point was formulated basically.

I never agreed with the idea of including characters for the sake of marketing. I'm not sure what you're talking about.

I'm going to drop this now since we're just polluting the page with this silly argument. If you want to continue, feel free to PM me.

No offense, Village, but I notice that most of your posts tend to be full-out retarded.

Beyond that, though, why is it that this thread tends to argue the most ridiculous things? Pikachu's snout? WarioWare relevance? Ridley after Ridley after Ridley debate? What is it that we're discussing at this point that is productive? Seems to me you're all falling in line with the typical, circular routine of Smash debate.

What I don't get is why people still treat fighters as the be all and end all of representation. Stages, music, items and trophies (cos no one looks at the stickers) are all alternative ways to give games love. As for the new Pokémon, they get a lot of love via the Pokéball.

I thought the Wario Land rep debate was reasonable though.

Marth, you sexy beast. He will look delicious in HD.

Can't we all just be friends?
No.

Also never got a chance to play Shadow Dragon; does it have voice acting? I just ask since Brawl still only had Japanese for Marth's VA, despite Ike having a choice between English/Japanese/whatever dialect you bought the game in (swear some characters got Spanish dubs for instance). It's going to be awkward if by SSB4 we potentially have 3/4 FE reps with one who can't speak the same language as the others.

There is no voice acting in Shadow Dragon. It's text ahoy.

Only text. At this point they should have Marth speak English though.

I ran to buy a Game&Watch after playing Melee, Sakurai is a marketing genius.

I dunno about that but ya know
I saw this thing in this game, And I saw this game had the same name.

How something is represented puts them on different levels of importance. I feel that 3 faces of the next chapter of your video game series are quite important. A bit more important that 3 old ones from a gen already represented, but some disagree so whatever.

Pokemon sucks.

I remember how some people, like my younger sister, used to call Pikachu, "Pokemon". As if it was his name. Of course she was really young at the time, and knew nothing about Pokemon. But it falls in the same camp of funny as calling Link "Zelda". And Samus "Metroid", and thinking she's a dude.

I asked before but I guess we were all lost in our side convos and debates but does anyone know if Sakurai has referenced, acknowledged or seems to even know about Project M? An article or interview or anything??

Marth should keep his Japanese tongue. It sounds awesome!

Or at least give us the option to choose between Japanese/English VA. Marth speaking only japanese in Brawl was for the sake of tradition and the matter that his games had only seen release in Japan, that isn't the case any more given the release of Shadow Dragon in the west. (and Awakening if you want to stretch it)

why cant metroid crawl???

Does sakurai even like the fact the game was modded. I know some people aren't exactly fans of that.

If he knows that is

He probably doesn't really care. Same goes for the competitive Smash community.

Only fans I think he has in mind are the unspoken casuals and the hardcore Nintendo fans, such as listening to them on character inclusions like Mega Man.

This really confuses me in the case of people who mainly know the characters from smash. The character screen says their names out loud for you when they get picked. How can you be that unobservant?

I think the modding community leans more on the hardcore side. But I would see why one would be reluctant to listen to them.

I had a friend who called link metriod.

That would be a reasonable compromise, but I don't need to hear everyone speak Japanese, just Marth.

But it's so weird when the other FE characters are speaking English.

Maybe they should have voice settings for each character.

There we go. Those are the type of crazy options the series is known for.

hahaha this reminds me of when I used to play Brawl at home and my mom would watch. She knows Ike as "prepare yourself" and she gets really confused between which one is Falco and which one is Captain Falcon. She also vehemently hates ROB and Olimar, but loves Peach and Marth because they're the prettiest.

Yeah, she's pretty cool.

I see...what do you all think are the chances of some of the Melee characters returning with either tweaked moveset or a new moveset entirely. Characters that aren't costume swaps (Dr Mario, yes I know he has different properties than reg Mario but he's still Mario in a doctor outfit) or character with evolutionary forms. (Young Link to Link, Pichu to Pikachu)

Of course, i'm talking about Roy and Mewtwo. I would love to see a magic/sword based moveset for Ganondorf though. A mix of his magics from Oot coupled with his sword fighting from TP and WW would be hella dope.

You guys think the clones problem will be fixed completely? Even though Brawl attempted to rectify this....Ganondorf still somewhat functions as a slower Falcon with a different attribute to his forward B and Falco's Reflector is different but overall he still is somewhat reminiscient of Fox...

My gut is telling me that Mewtwo has the best chance of returning out of all the cut Melee characters.

I'm confident that Mewtwo will be back. Roy definitely isn't returning. I think the semi-clones will continue to receive new attacks and animations, but I don't think any of them will be redesigned completely. There will still be remnants of Captain Falcon in Ganondorf's move set, for example, but he might get a new special move or two and some reanimated standard attacks.

Based on what they've done with Bowser's moveset, I'd be surprised if they don't differentiate Ganondorf a lot more from Falcon. There's a lot of tweaks to Bowser and they should pay the same attention to Dorf. It's high time he started using his sword and shooting magic energy balls.

In a perfect world I would love to see more character reps over color swaps. Dr. Mario and Roy could easily come in like that(with actual soundclips from the announcer acknowledging them), Daisy for Peach which was already a color, stuff like that.

Ganondorf seriously needs his own moveset, he's too important to still be apeing off of Captain Falcon. However, I do actually like playing him, so I would retain his actual character as Black Shadow.

I hope all the clones continue to get new moves to further differentiate themselves. Falco should have the SF:Assault sniper rifle replace his blaster and make the Arwing his new Final Smash.

He definitely needs the energy balls, but I think he'd be fine without swords. I like him as a choke-slamming harbinger of fist death with an added spice of kick explosions. He's supposed to represent power (just like Zelda represents wisdom with her magic and Link represents courage because good god man who goes into a fight with a dinky boomerang and unenchanted bow and arrow), and nothing says power quite like shoving one fist into your opponents barely damaged face and sending them flying off the stage into space and beyond.

Wonder if this game will have different languages this time around.
Now, I'm merely talking about the menus/settings and all the text the game might have.
Keep the voice narrator the same.

When I bought Brawl, I barely spoke english at the moment so it was a nightmare when I found out the game only came in english. I felt disappointed because it was one of my most anticipated games then and has been (so far) the only one that doesn't have more languages.

Theorically, this game will be bigger than Brawl so it wouldn't hurt them to do so.
Besides, not everyone speaks english so that's a problem too.
