Super Smash Bros Wii U and 3DS: Info Collection - Dojo, Mega Man and Trailer! 2014!

I'm probably the only one who felt some of the later chapters should've been cut or at least shorten. Some of them were a lot longer than they needed to be.

Lost the Bowser avatar, huh?

I found the chapters to be decently lengthed. Didn't have a problem at all with that.

Felt nostalgic and went back to my olddd Monoeye avatar that people often associate me with. lol

Didn't some lasted more than a half hour? (Especially that longgg tower chapter)

Yeah, some took ages. Like the battle with the
Chaos Kin
where you have wave upon wave of enemies, then another flying sequence.

It was an amazing game though.

The question is, does that mean the Bowser avatar is fair game now?

I mean, I'm already spoken for (I've got dibs on Sonic, if you check the huge list), but I'm more thinking for anyone else.

that background looks cool, hmm any hope that we'll see a stage based on Uprising on the wii u version? since stages between the platforms will be different based on games that were on said handheld/console... I don't want another dull looking "skyworld " <.<

That chapter was also brutally annoying due to how repetitive and lengthy it was.

But yeah, great game but it could've been less repetitive and lengthy in spots.

Sure, go ahead!

Didn't Nintendo make a partnership with Sega?

I could see Sonic fitting in. Snake felt really out of place.

Yeah, that's why I feel he's a likely addition. He has quite a fanbase on Nintendo systems.

I want Snake back too since he was such a great character in Brawl.

Today's daily picture is of a new stage for the 3DS version.
Kid_Icarus_3DS_Stage.jpg

Sakurai confirms on the Miiverse post that it's the place where Viridi lands her first Reset Bomb in Kid Icarus Uprising.

It could be but my gut says it isn't. I think it's just big.
ah, is that t he 3DS version? It looks surprisingly good!

I don't get why people feel Snake felt out of place. He was a realistically proportioned human like Link, Captain Falcon and Samus. He can pull out crazy weapons out of nowhere like Link.

A reset bomb stage, eh? Does that mean the glorious Cragalanche will make his triumphant return?

I absolutely adored both Craggy and his stage the first time I played them.
Then came the achievements for taking no damage and only hitting the cragster from the front.

The world can be so cruel sometimes.

Everyone hates his u-tilt...the best upsmash....that's not an up smash...

All his tilts and neutrals were Smash attacks. I mean what was Sakurai thinking? Obviously it was to compensate for his very different "real" smashes but Sakurai should get a switch to the butt for Snake's raw power and knock back.

New stage looks awesome and is a good, non-intrusive way of working in a major Uprising character. Betting we'll see in a few more screenshots that after a reset bomb drops the stage takes on a bright pink, plant-like design to make it more dynamic and unique.

While I think metal gear solid is weird enough to fit.

i am guessing its because samus and captain falcon were future bounty hunters, link was some fairy hero. And that snake was just, a solider dude, or a war monger, I heard he was based of snake and big boss. Not saying their reasoning makes sense, but I can kind of understand it.

And his disproportionate weight. Lol super heavy weight behind dk and bowser.

Because instead of Snake it could have been <less known, less marketable supporting character>. Also some sort of argument on size or something.

Makes me sad that we wont get anything from Uprising on the WiiU version D:

Sakurai would be nuts to do that. The lunar sanctum, thunder cloud temple, and any of the aurum chapters are begging for HD versions.

And chapter 8 with the space pirates with the galactic sea in the background tho I'd concede with that being a 3ds stage too.

I can kind of understand what Sakurai was going for when it comes to Snake's tilts--Snake's smashes are more like special moves than normals, especially his up and down smashes. So he may have wanted to compensate some by making his tilts stronger so he'd have more reliable kill moves.

The problem is that he already has reliable kill moves in his aerials and what have you and he went way overboard on his tilts' power and range.

And I have not a fucking clue what Sakurai was thinking when he made Snake's weight. He's heavier than King Dedede.

Goddamn.

Why not?

Sakurai said that the 3DS version will have more stages based con handhelds, not that the stages will be exclusively of handheld games and vice versa.

I imagine the majority of stages will be reflective of the console, but i'm sure he'll switch it up.

I really hope he shows a screen of the reset-bombed stage!

Dang now I feel like playing Kid Icarus again. This is my favorite 3DS stage now. Sakurai loves his games the most lol.
Same here heh. Would be interesting if, during a battle, the reset bomb goes off, and you're then transported inside Viridi's cocoon-like garden :O

Kojima probably had to sign off on Snake so...yeah lol. idk just a thought.

Sakurai said he made Snake slow and heavy because he sneaks around and can't jump in the Metal Gear games, which I guess makes sense, but it's still pretty bizarre since he's an athletic human.

Well, unless he actually makes the console stage 8 bit themed, any modernization of classic Kid Icarus locations would end up taking cues from their Uprising versions. I can't see, say, Sakurai making an Underworld stage that just ignores the version shown in Uprising.

Snake is the most frustrating character to fight behind a really good Ice Climbers and maybe a Diddy Kong that uses bananas as their primary approach. As a friend said to me "Why are you using Ike? You could just use Snake and get all of the power with none of the drawbacks".

Strength, projectile versatility, multiple recovery options, weight, speed, weird up smash slide. He may not have been as broken as Meta Knight, but he was damn close.

I always loved using snake, setting up a team match 1 vs. 3 on AI and wiping the floor with them. It's nearly impossible to do with anyone else for me, but he was a complete monster.

From new Famitsu:

3DS and Wii U stages and music are completely different. 3DS is being created as a "portable" version, and Wii U version is being created as a "home console" version, so we will see some differences in that way. It isn't trying to be a super similar game on both consoles.

There is nothing like the SSE story mode. Instead, they are trying to do something more focused on character collaborations of their all-star cast. For the 3DS version, they are planning on having the usual versus mode, plus another completely different way to play.

Thank you Famitsu, and here I thought the 3DS version was to be the home console version while the Wii U version was the portable version.

Vague, but good news nonetheless. I really want to hear what they're doing with the 3DS version.

Hmm, so music will be console specific as well. Not a huge surprise, since it goes with the unique stages, but still nice to hear. Maybe the music from games not related to the stage will be focused based on which version it is as well (i.e if we get another song from Golden Sun, it'd only be on 3DS since that's a portable franchise).

Most exciting news.

This makes me think there's still going to be some sort of plot, but it'll be cute short ones like we saw in the SSB4 announcement trailer for fan service and not one big, all-encompassing thing like SSE was.

I hope so. The best parts of SSE were when different nintendo characters teamed up and had funny little scenes. If they can do that without the boring gameplay it would be perfect.

I want you to carry around a bunch of C3s, grenades, rocket launchers, Cyphers, homing missiles, land mines, and remote bombs and tell me how much you weigh after the fact.
