I think that would be funnier actually.
I am currently outside while posting this.
He is a dolt though. He didn't know what he was talking about, was condescending, self-righteous, tried to lay down rules by which people can and can't be respected. I don't think the mode looks awesome, but I'm not going to sit here and tell someone how to make their game in a respectable fashion, because that would make me a dolt.

How can I disagree? I havent played the game. I do know from this very thread that the guy in question has misrepresented the game to make it sound a lot worse than it actually is in context, something that seems like a recurring them amongst feminists both male and female, at least in regards to videogame.
So yes, im sick of this "omg this is so offensive" crap come from men who have no real idea of feminist issues, that really only get uncomfortable about these kind of things in games because they are insecure about the medium itself and are constantly trying to prove

Its less the game is offensive, but more quirky japanese titles = bad. When i see videos from the guy about protecting lara croft, or why ivy in soul calibur is wearing strings of clothing ill resepect his opinion. Right about now, its seems its fine being derogatory towards women, long as its amongst established parameters.

Lot's of the threads discussing women in games and feminism almost immediately have someone come post insults towards both rather than discussing their problems in a tame and civil manner. The poster that I quoted who quoted another posters comment about social justice and feminism was on the first page before any real discussion had started.
The last part of your post, why shouldn't we? I'm a girl and so these things ARE personal. I think they're valid issues to discuss so that we can target the problems within the industry and try to change them.
Now I'm not saying I fully agree with Matt, because according to a poster in this thread a lot of what he said is incorrect however the gigolo mode does still have some issues like the X-ray glasses, DLC or not.
If you can't find a way to disagree, then why are you generalizing feminists?
This guy doesn't represent all feminists but for a second let's pretend everything in his video is true, do you agree with him or not? Why is it that you would think it's okay to objectify a women that way? Because that post was made before it was proven a lot of his claims are incorrect.
If we're going to point out trends, I notice a lot of men jump into feminism threads and completely dismiss them just based off the name rather than their actual point.

So what he said in the video isn't true? If that's the case I take back my statement, but I made my judgement based on the responses on the first page, which were dismissing it immediately, saying it wasn't a big deal, which I would assume was before anyone knew whether the contents were true or not.
Why not? Why should a game get away with completely objectifying a women? Just because you don't see it as much of an issue doesn't mean other's objections aren't valid.

Then create a reasonable dialogue about objectifying women. Reach out to creators. Ask gamers how they feel. Explain in honest terms why something may be offensive to some and offer alternatives.
That is not what is being done here. At the end of the day everything is offensive to someone. But the people who present their argument in reasonable terms are the ones worth listening to. The ones misrepresenting their points about a game and drowning the whole discussion with hyperbole arent.

man, i can't deal with the suda hate about. almost as bad as the writer of this terribly inaccurate piece and his echo-chamber of a twitter feed (though i had to laugh at the PHIL FISH IS FUCKING AWESOME bit)
I thought this was something over nothing in the first place, and after reading the detailed response from the XSEED employee I feel like this guy either:
- Clearly doesn't understand the game, still unknown how much of the game he has played and what he actually has access to at this point (just an ambiguous "preview copy")
- Or purposefully misrepresented aspects of the game to drum up controversy for attention
