Love it.

Well, you can call him whatever your want, that's your good right. But he got publicly insulted for not commenting on something that wasn't even released as news yet - and also his game got insulted as well for no fucking reason

I'm well aware that Fish has a polarizing personality (I'm neogaffing a lot you know), but he's right on this one

His twitter breakdown has been the most entertaining thing I've seen all day. I take a break from playing Dark Souls and now I can't stop watching this drama :lol

Can't say this really matters to me either way. Though, if this really is related to him getting butthurt over some of Beer's comments then that's just sad.

I think this is just a bit of rage, but I would be very disappointed to see a dev of the calibre of Phil Fish leaving this industry, regardless of his outspoken nature.

I have to call out Marcus Beer though; fair enough to respond to his tweets, but to swing childish personal insults around without examining and providing context and purpose is disgusting and I have to say I lost a fair bit of respect for him when I saw that video.

He was right to tell someone they should kill themselves because they insulted his game?

Phil has got to be the biggest drama queen in gaming. I don't actively dislike him or anything, but how much attention can an indie-developer who's made but one (great) game get? Because that is all he has done after all. Some medium-sized studios get less press coverage, forum threads and other forms of media-attention than this guy.

Kotaku-article incoming in 3... 2...

Exactly.

For those who don't know: Marcus Beer called him a "Hipster twat" and a piece of shit among other things for not commenting about the rumor.

Phil Fish had a pretty good reason to get angry. Beer starts talking about it about 00:01:30 into the video. He really throws a lot of personal insults around.

I said in the other threads that the insults were too much - the first two tweets were "okay" considering his persona and what happened, but the third was too much, agreed. I even replied to that tweet in a negative way

ah yes as you can see the user has a kaufman avatar which is a definite credential as someone who's self-aware and funny and good and would do a high-level troll on twitter and not just some stupid dweeb who made a shitty game with a shitty made-up language in it or whatever lol

Said the same thing in the other thread too, but anyway, personally I feel bad for him and find his behavior eerily similar to a mild version of Amanda Bynes. It is becoming increasingly likely that he is battling with some mental health issues. Or that's the feeling I've had since the Indie Game film.

At least Sterling keeps a cool head it seems :lol

Phil Fish ragequit Twitter. Your thoughts?

I am fond of both Phil and Marcus, the latter of which I would consider a pretty solid media chum at this point. Speaking as a guy who used to get into the same kind of twitter fights those guys get into, all I could say is I hope they mellow out, the pair of them, because there's no long-term satisfaction or happiness to be gained from one-upping people on Twitter. You just get more frustrated, lash out more, and make more people have fights with you.

Neither of them need my advice, but again, speaking as a guy who used to get himself into these sort of slanging matches on the regular, all I can say is I'm 100% happier and less stressed out professionally now that I go out of my way to avoid people who want to have fights (or just retweet the funny ones so *other people* go and fight them while I block them). It can be difficult not to bite back, and I still even find myself engaging it for a while now and then, but on the whole, mellowing out and learning not to step into the shit heap when I know, deep down, that's exactly what I'm stepping into (and you always *really* know), was one of the best things I did for my long-term job satisfaction and overall happiness in what I do.

In any case, I wish the best for Phil and Marcus both. I've never had cause to dislike either of them personally and it's a shame they used their weekend for this.

That'd suck if true. Fez was a great game and I'd love another one. He should just quit twitter and focus on making games. Quit the Internet since it brings out the worst from people. As evident by this already juvenile thread.

I was in agreement right up until I realized you weren't talking about Fish.

He should quit twitter because it's making him a terrible person. Nobody takes (or should take) what he says on there seriously anyway. But he's made it hard to take anything he does or says seriously.
