Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | August 2013 | Divekicks & Dragons

lol

We went more than an entire year without a single trailer, screenshot or even an official site. Final Fantasy X HD was announced at TGS 2011 which also had vaporware announcements like Zone of the Enders HD Collection for Vita.

You are pessimist so i shouldn't even answer you lol, but i'll do it.
1)How many of AAA ps3-vita games have you seen the vita version before the release? Let me think... Fifa, nfs, one piece 2 and so on.... Almost no one, the ps3 version is usually the best looking ones and that is the one to be showed.
2)What have you seen of the ps3 version? Few screens, some videos of cutscenes and a demo with a single battle. Even the ps3 version is not ready to be shown, do you expect them to show the vita one?
3)Have you seen online stores canceling the vita version? No.

As i said there was NO reasons to be insecure about it, except being insecure/pessimist persons or spreading pessimism(among insecure/pessimist people).

Hated FFX on ps2 so I'm not touching it again but I'm sure it's going to sell.

AC Phoenix Rising cought my interest though, I'd love a spinoff on one of the settings from AC 1/2 this time. Even 4 would be nice.

I never finished X on PS2 (hmm i generally haven't finished many games on stationary consoles) so i'll take this as a chance to finish it and then follow up with X-2.

Seems like another 200h of gameplay to add to backlog.

Maybe at gamescon! :O

whens ffx release?

if still tba, seems like it would be something popular especially in Japan?

To be honest we don't even know if those screens are legit tough.

Ah I see, the menu does look a bit nasty with those big black buttons. I guess they could fake a ps+ button to build excitement for a let down too...who knows.

tbh it looks real to me, shadowing on the button and everything, very consistent - just the nasty menu button in the other shot, hopefully temporary

If those screens are legit, that ps+ would be a new general feature that applies to many games, not only to ffx, so its announcement would be independent from the ffx release imo.

for sure, but what sort of thing? I can't imagine game-related extras on a subscription service?

a way to manage game saves outside of content manager perhaps? they better add manual save-only backups for non-ps+ users if that's the new addition.

In games that allow you to select a specific save to load (through the Vita OS rather than something like the Jak port) you can click the 'i' to the right of the save and the time spent in that save should be recorded there.

This. Although its not true for all games. Uncharted doesn't record time played.

Well i hope they are right. I need some Musou in my life after DWN so OP2 would be ok (SK:SV would be better but since it's not comming)

What high profile Vita games haven't appeared as PS+ freebies yet? I'm wondering what they could offer after U:GA and Gravity Rush.

I'm guessing Assassin's Creed: Liberation and Little Big Planet.

I don't know, i would like to be surprised though :)

Those are very good guesses. I'd say LBP is a lock for at least one of them. Would be awesome if the other was something like NFS.

Not sure that they would give LBP as a free game just because of the EU promo they are running on the 8GB card with WipEout, LBP both coming free on a redemption code.

I think it'll be lbp and resistance

Also doubt it would be Resistance given the sheer age of the game.

Wouldn't be surprised if it's something like AC and Killzone

Turns out Killzone has a thing like Bungie.net had for Halo to track your stats and stuff here.

It seems a little janky right now, though. Beta is beta etc.

You can even watch a game from a top down map view.

I saw "Travel Bug" on my back-up list yesterday, and it got me wondering, did anyone ever get their bug picked up by a stranger and carried off to another country? Do any of you vitacats even use that app anymore?

I really liked the concept, but it never worked out for me. The furthest my bug traveled was about 1km's away from me. I did leave bugs at bus stations and at the airport when I traveled, but those were never picked up :(

In other news, I'm only 4 trophies away (2 very achievable, 2 hidden) from my second Platinum ever (Soul Sacrifice).

This sounds awesome! But I get an access denied - probably cos I'm not in the beta.

Speaking of FFX, I wonder how much pain and frustration the lightening dodging will cause me on the Vita. The other area of frustration was the Chocobo race and I never had too much difficulty with that one.Good Times!!

how could you hate ffx?

Blitz ball, the characters, specific characters being better against certain types of enemies which results in a lot of switching between them in combat, linear gameplay with next to
no exploration. Wasn't a fan of the story either.

Granted, I only played the first 8 or so hours (so there might be more real exploration later on) but I've seen a friend of mine play some I the later dungeons and those seemed tedious as hell.

I think we will see Ridge Racer and Assassins Creed on ps+ soon. Maybe Strangers Wrath too.

Wipeout 2048 has surged into my top 3 favorite Vita games of all time. I've been picking away at it since launch. But it wasn't until I took off the training wheels (no auto-pilot assist, had it set to normal).. That I realized I've been doing it wrong. I've played Wipeout before, but never without aids. It's such a different game, and I'm a much better racer than I gave myself credit for.

I own Wipeout HD on the PS3 (all the add-ons) So, that instantly makes Wipeout one of the most content rich games on the Vita. I also feel that 2048 plays the HD levels better than it's big brother.

The game was always fun, but I can't stress how much better it is without auto-pilot assist. I know I'm LTTP, on that point. But it's a game changer for me.

Great game, top tier soundtrack. It should be in every Vita owners library.

I wonder if it will be like MK Vita in that they will sacrifice the detail in the character models and environments to achieve 60 fps.

hope not

those character models were fugly, and even though i appreciated the smoothness of 60fps all my other vita games run slower and they are ok, id rather take more detail

Got it free on PS Plus a few months back and loved it.

Also that aids part of your post is too easy to mess with...

Raptr doesn't record your hours for PS3/Vita sadly, just syncs your trophies.

Thanks for the clarification, sounded a bit too good :)

Hate is a strong word though :P

An ideal month of PS+ for me would be.... maybe AC? I don't pay too much attention to the series but it seems like it'd be fun to run around and collect whatever Ubisoft are asking you to collect this time.

And Soul Sacrifice?

I got Wipeout HD as part of the Welcome Back on another PSN account :/ the one linked to my Vita does not. I sure hope there's a sale down the line for me to get it

yeah me too. i don't actually want to pay money for ac:l directly as i'm not a big fan of the gameplay, but i'd like to see what the protagonist people praise is like and look around their recreation of new orleans.

I'm wondering if that PS+ icon does something similar to automatic uploading of gamesaves to cloudsaves like on PS3 if you enable it and it's a feature coming in a future update.
Btw Gamestop.de also lists One Piece Pirate Warriors 2 for Vita
Time to get my hopes up again!
Only to be crushed later

Wipeout is my favorite Vita game.
The problem is that it is kinda hard to get the hang of it. But once you know how to fly it really is one the best racing games ever.

Its btw the best looking Vita game IMO.

Also, the amount of content is just ridiculous.

I don't see Soul Sacrifice being added to PS+ so soon, but I wouldn't be surprised if it gets added during next year's major PS+ refresh.
