Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | August 2013 | Divekicks & Dragons

New bubbles look great. I haven't had a chance to poke around and check out the new firmware properly yet, but love the bubbles.

Dragon's Crown! Dragon's Crown! Dragon's Crown! Dragon's Crown! Dragon's Crown! Dragon's Crown! Dragon's Crown! Dragon's Crown! Dragon's Crown! Dragon's Crown!

Today!

After goddamn work... T___T

So I could use even a iPhone or a iPad Charger?

In my experience Apple does some weird stuff with chargers so a charger specifically made for an iPhone/iPad may not work, you will have better chances with a charger made for Android devices.

But if you already have an iPhone/iPad charger lying around there's no harm in trying, it'll probably work.

Whatever charger you use should preferably provide 2A current, that's what the standard Vita charger provides, but lower amperage probably works too.

Between the firmware update and my copy of Senran Kagura arriving, I'm drowning in soft, round orbs.

Lovely stuff.

Oh, you only just got Senran Kagura. Have fun. Tehehehe...

In hindsight, it's a great musou game, areas could have been larger but hey, it's not a Dynasty Warriors.

Completely offtopic but I dont know where to ask this, thought this tight knit community can help :P (maybe should make a new thread), anyway I want to buy a game from Ebay but the seller won't ship to Europe, can I send it to some Vitabro's US address and you ship it to my European address? If you're interested please pm me! Thanks in advance. :)

What game are you after? We might be able to point you in the direction of an online shop that can ship to you directly.

The cost of forwarding the item may outweigh any cheap price you would've scored through the eBay sale.

Okay new bubbles are nice.

I like that you can stream videos from pc and laptop as well ... even if the directory setup for that is shite (as if im putting my video collection in that vita backup folder).

But they are shitheads with this ps+ manaul save data backup on EVERY FUCKING GAME. Knew it would be that.

Don't force PS+ on vita users, this isn't the PS4. And hanging up a way to backup fucking game saves as an advantage isn't the way to do it.

argh great timing as well lol, just had the ps+ sub run out, waiting on that 3month code from nowtv, otherwise will update manually before I go on holiday. I'm not ragging ps+, but using save files to advertise plus is bullshit.

Piss me off sometimes with their decisions. ADD MANUAL BACKUPS OF SAVE FILES. Your transfer shit is SLOW.

Check out the new homebutton quick menu (hold down the home button for a few seconds).
Has toggles for network things, quite handy.

-edit mode with triangle is awesome,
also heard there is a way to hide trophies for certain games if that interests you, I remember people asking for it before

I'm about to go to GS to get Dragon's Crown in a little while and I thought it was about time to upgrade the grip on my Vita. The grip I'm currently using is terrible. It's really messing up my L and R button on my Vita just like the reviews said it would.

This is the grip btw. I really need an upgrade so does anyone have a recommended grip or holding accessory they use? The Vita just feels 10x more comfortable with a grip then without to me.

^ heh, grats, I picked up a few backup cables for my Vita, don't want to risk it. The default one just got destroyed basically, near the ends.

How is it messing up your triggers?

Nyko grip (or ones with the same shape and no battery pack) and the Hori grip are all good tbh.

Yeah I lost my original one. Replaced with some cheap chinese cable. Found my Vita saying it's charging but not actually charging. Assumed I was fucked, but then noticed the chinese cable burned through it's protection due to some loose cabling.

So ordered a slightly more expensive Chinese cable .. one with at least some online reviews heh.

Gonna spray paint it gold, never wanna lose it again.

Where did you get it from, is it the proprietary one? Cuz i live in the UK and had to get a makeshift one, idk how long it'll last tbh.

ORB PS Vita USB Charge & Data AC Adapter (PS Vita) Link to South African Store as I'm South African ... but packaging view atleast

I so badly want Little King's story in this month's PSN offerings on Vita, it's been lackluster so far. Not surprising, considering the limited library.

I'm playing Virtue's Last Reward, how long on average did it take to complete once, discounting the replays and other puzzles?

I was trying to imagine if that really works to protect the ends for a second there. Nice lol, yeah don't go too cheap with cables that you need to move a lot is the lesson I guess. Gold cable would be cool.

As you will learn soon you can't just finish it once ;)

30h for complete playthrough of all variations

How is it messing up your triggers?

The triggers on the PDP grip cover the Vita's triggers. The contact point that presses down on the Vita's triggers are rectangular bits of plastic. As the Vita's triggers are curved, when you press down with force, the rectangular bits of plastic scratch them as they form an edge that digs in.

It's quite a design flaw that would've been easy to solve with some rubber stuck on the bottom of said plastic bits.

The little plastic tabs that press down onto the L and R buttons are wearing the buttons out. I think it's because the tabs aren't soft enough, because I felt them and they are pretty rough on them. I used to have a click noise when I pressed the L and R buttons, and it even felt clickey. Now I have to press harder on my L and R buttons for them to work, and I have no click sound anymore.

I'll look into that Nyko Grip you suggested though. The extended battery life would help out very much.

Of the 4 Vita grips I've bought, I find this one is by far the most comfortable:

Japanese Joypad PS Vita Assist Grip

I had to buy mine from a Japanese eBay seller, but based on that link, it looks like an Amazon seller has it back in stock.

Very similar to the grip that I have, which is super comfortable. The only thing I could find relating to the grip I use on my Vita is this Youtube video (nothing special). Basically, it makes my Vita have the form of a DualShock.

I MUST see these AA bubbles on my Vita; they look spectacular in these screenshots!

Sadly, my internet is total shit at the moment, plus I have a daily download allowance. Fuckin' Hughesnet.

Very close. And yup, it basically makes it feel like a DualShock. It reduces hand strain by pushing your palm out far enough for your thumb to be relatively straight when resting on the sticks. Makes the Killzone Mercenary beta a dream to play!

^Okay, lol, guess I better try that too, it looks good. Love all these grip accessories. It's like a wardrobe for my Vita.

Ah okay, I heard about that before - I just put tape on my triggers...don't see any markings or anything on them...

tbh there is no perfect handle...I was leaning to favouring the PDP trigger grips over my other 2 tbh, but they are all decent. Nyko's shape is actually the best for comfort imo. But not my favourite grip oddly enough. Loved the nice small size of the PDP.

This one looks like the one I have but without the terrible L and R triggers and longer grips. I'll look into this one as well.

I tried searching the internet for this one but it doesn't seem to come up anywhere. It seems really nice though.

Yeah, I don't even know if the Spartan brand exists outside of Australia. Their packaging and range of products basically scream knockoffs. However, the grip is very good quality and even has the same sturdy finish as the matte portion of the Vita's back half. It matches quite well.
