Danny's busy off doing weird games by himself. Yesterday he started playing the sequel to Hatoful Boyfriend.

Hah! I gotta get in on this.

There was a game that was designed to help teach women to masturbate. Some people were asking why the game was biased against women who didn't have vaginas. Gabe made a comment that he felt that a woman should have a vagina.

Add into that a very controversial description of a panel at PAX Australia that appeared to make fun of people who crusade for social justice online, and people began to get very angry. Gabe, in his usual method, doubled down on being a dick for a while before writing an apology and later a pledge that he would donate $10,000 to a charity dedicated to trans issues and said he would be more mindful when speaking on the issue in the future.

Some people however feel that the apology was hollow and that supporting Penny Arcade by giving them money shows a lack of support of the trans community and supports bigots. The developers of Gone Home especially publicly denounced Penny Arcade and announced that they would be boycotting PAX.

We discussed it in this thread earlier. I know that Patrick chose not to submit a panel idea because of this, and he's expressed concern that they're even attending but feels that he can't deprive fans of the opportunity to directly interact with GB. I don't recall anyone else from GB talking about it.

I find this all increasingly crazy when, looking at the official PAX schedules, it seems like a third of all panels/discussions are on women/sexism in the games industry.

Was anyone else super grossed out by that giant centipede monster in Pikmin?

Hopefully it's all old stuff. I couldn't give a damn about wrasslin these days. I don't think Jeff watches it either.

This is a long shot but worth a try. Alexis mentioned a website he goes to to see what PC games are on sale on all across all major DD retailers. Does anyone know what site that was? I am in need. I'm hoping to find Shogun 2 on sale somewhere.

Has Game Informer's Dan Ryckert been contacted to guest on The Powerbombcast? That's an obvious get.

Indeed he has, and he's on board.

"@alex_navarro: We're recording the Giant Powerbombcast tomorrow. Guests will include @jeffgerstmann, @gvaranini, @jaredr, and @DanRyckert. Get hype."

Is there some way for paying members of the site to subscribe to the premium podcasts on itunes. Only just found about about the powerbombcast thing and this will be the first premium podcast I listen to. Is there some other way for my iphone to download these things on it's own? I did a quick search and saw someone here mention the Downcast app. It seems like exactly what I'm looking for, but does anyone know of a free alternative?

I just really don't understand how people are so bad at games, especially ones in the industry. It honestly confounds me. Pikmin 3 is the first time I've played the series outside of a few minutes since the first wiimake(cousin ran through Pikmin wii 2 and I mostly watched) and I had the controls down within 5 minutes. The same goes for most games except the more complex RPGs and fighting games. I've been playing games as a kid to be fair but I believe they and most other gaming industry people have as well.

Poor Alex, dude is getting eviscerated on GB's Pikmin 3 QL comment thread

Yeah poor guy, he hasn't had to play games while talking for a long time.

I honestly didn't see what huge deal is, but I've only ever played a few hours of the first Pikmin. Alex will always be polarizing.

How about a single player, dual analog "relative" control game, where one stick controls the contestant, and the other stick controls an american gladiator?

Other than a return to The Ripper with Dave, Vinny, and Jeff, I think the one piece of content I want they that they would never do (or can't do now) is a Ryan/Vinny ER of Indigo Prophecy. I forgot how great their Quick Look Throwback was. :(

It's fun, and a bit sad, to go through my Quick Look folder. So much great content, and Ryan had so many highs.

EDIT:

I have questions!

1: Is there only one Jurassic Lark video? Did they do a follow up on a TNT/UPF or something?

2: Was there really no Farming Simulator 2012?

3: Other than Arma III and the Euro Truck Simulator, what have been the best/funniest Quick Looks this year?

Playing games on camera and trying to explain what's going on while having a conversation with someone next to you can make it difficult to focus sometimes.

The UH-1H Huey Simulator QL is an absolute must watch. It's the first video they've had Dave stop by in and it is absolutely fantastic the whole way through.

Yup yup. I got that already download. I hadn't felt so good about a Quick Look in over a year since that one. Also, and I'm blanking on the name, that biker game with Jeff and Vinny was amazing as well. Road to Hell? Something like that? ALMOST felt like the Leisure Suit Larry Box Office Bust Quick Look.

Fair enough, I can't speak for that experience. Do some streaming from time to time but that's quite different as it's just me and some responses to chats.

Playing games while talking is really hard. Either you devote your brain to focusing on the conversation, or you focus it on playing the game. GB is smart enough to know that people would rather hear them talk than watch them sit in silence and be amazing at a game.

Also, and I haven't seen the quicklook yet, Pikmin is quite an intensive multi-tasking game which should only exacerbate these issues.
