So, Netflix in the UK....do we get this week by week starting tomorrow? Or the whole lot in one go, when the whole season has aired in the US? Sorry for the stupid question. Can't wait for this.

Regarding Netflix UK:
The Verge said:
'Breaking Bad' episodes will air on Netflix UK immediately following US broadcast

The much-anticipated final episodes of AMC's Breaking Bad will be available to watch on Netflix UK immediately following their US broadcast. The half-season premieres on AMC August 11th at 9PM ET (2AM BST), and Netflix users in the UK will be able to watch each episode after it finishes airing stateside.

This instant syndication could represent a real shift in the way American broadcasters approach foreign audiences. AMC's The Killing is syndicated to Netflix's UK users in the same way. Although the situation has improved in recent years, British viewers have traditionally had to wait until at least the following night, and often face delays of days to watch their favorite shows. This has led to high rates of piracy for hit US series like Game of Thrones, True Blood, and The Walking Dead. "Netflix has been instrumental in making Breaking Bad the success that it is," says Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan, echoing previous comments on the platform. "I am delighted that fans [in the UK] will be able to enjoy the end of Breaking Bad on Netflix so soon after it airs in the US."

I always wonder why Macbeth isn't refernced more in relation to Breaking Bad. It's essentially the same concept.
I like Breaking Bad more, although I generally like Shakespeare.

Rewatching Fifty-One and hearing Walt Jr's speed demon story gave me the morbid idea of his 'Stang getting him killed in a car accident. For obvious reasons he doesn't strike me as the most coordinated driver.

Isn't it a Charger?

Ok, so quickly, before episode 1 airs ->

Who will die and in what order?

For example, if you think Jesse and Skyler will die, but it will be Skyler then Jesse, then say

1. Skyler
2. Jesse

Whoever is right by the end of the Season will get $20 worth of gifts of Steam <:

Only one winner, so in the event of a tie, I will go with whomever said the right answer first. No editing allowed on those posts after the first episode airs.

Here goes:

Meth Damon (Todd) by Jesse
Lydia by Walt
Walt Jr by Walt
Skyler by Skyler
Hank by Walt
Walt by Jesse

Serious question.

Why are people who don't like Skyler regarded as misogynists?

Even Vince Gilligan seems to thinks so

I'm pretty open about my hatred for her. But I don't hate her because she's a woman. I hate her because she's an annoying character. Why does it have to be about gender?

Walt has done worse things, but fact is, I watch the show for Walt. His character is fascinating, whatever he does. I don't watch for Skyler.

It just seems whenever something negative is brought up against her, it always comes down to misogyny.

Terrible characters are terrible characters. Regardless of gender

Quick reminder that AMC is running a marathon of all eight episodes of Season 5A leading into the premiere tonight. It starts up in a little over two hours (12:30PM ET) with Live Free or Die.

I don't wanna open a can of worms, but it boils down to the reasons the people love the show so much. While I also love Walt's character, I despise Walt, so I usually sided with Skyler when she argued with him.

Even though I don't like Skyler myself, I sure as hell wish we could ban discussing hatred of Skyler full stop, just because it leads to so many derails on a regular basis :P

Please justify this one.

I could see it the way Jr. is drawn to Hank as surrogate father since Walt's never around and that he might actually side with him or even threaten to snitch. Also, Walt dislikes/hates Ted and Jr. is quite possibly Ted's child from Skyler's dalliance. On top, Walt let him learn to drive by using both feet...something that Walt warns him of in earlier seasons when he was on his learner's permit. There are tiny threads that allow this to be possible and consistent given the events of the series' past seasons.

EDIT:^^^ Ok i can see Walt Jr. accidentally dying (though i personally don't think so) but i absolutely do not see Walt killing him, in any scenario that wouldn't take another 3 seasons to set up.
Also Walt Jr. is the only beacon of innocence Walt still respects, as a source of judgment, the last pillar he still wants to not disappoint, i don't see him just turning on it in 8 episodes.

Nah, in a more recent interview he withdrew that comment.

He said it was just him initially brushing away the Skyler haters as a few misogynists, but after seeing a lot of women and in general a lot of people not liking the character, he came up with another explanation (or someone suggested him another explanation), which is that Skyler is often powerless, throughout the show, in situations out of her control, abused by Walt, playing chicken with her.
And that since no one likes to feel powerless, some viewers "dislike" her for that reason and refuse to empathize with her (this is me trying to remember the reasoning).

I like Skyler, so i wouldn't know.
I do think her being the one trying to "stop" the plot (Walt rise to power) has something to do with it, though.

When you watch Scarface, even though Tony is probably the worst guy in the whole movie (aside from Sosa, maybe) you still want him to "win" and grow bigger, because that's what propels the story forward and what the plot has set your mind on, since the beginning.
So i think it's kind of an unconscious desire to succeed at the task at hand, never minding the overarching structure of what this task actually is.

No wonder many Skyler haters hate her for being a "cock block" and such.

If that makes any sense.

Who knows how his started? Go to the Walking Dead thread and everyone was hating on Lori but there was no mention misogyny there. Only in BB does the word appear. It just seems like something Skylear fans jumped on to and spout off occasionally. Most of the people in the GAF threads have given valid reasons for hating Skylear that have nothing to do with misogyny.

Myself, I hate Skylear for many reasons. One big one is the actress. She just has a dumb face that I think I would hate her in any role. It is kindof like Ray Liotta. I hate his face and hate him in all movies I see him in. It also doesn't help that the writers made the Skylear character annoying and that she isn't a very good actress compared to the rest of the main cast.

Beneke had a history with Skyler before I.F.T., so it seems possible that Jr. isn't his biological offspring. Fairly 'out there' speculation, of course, but I'm aiming for anything remote since they never seemed to have clarified the timeline of their relationship prior to show's start and the writers love to go back to little things.

I rewatched 5.8 last night, as well as bits and pieces from other episodes and the last part of Dead Freight.

I am ready.

Take me home, Vince. Take me home.

I figure there has to be a moment where it all comes home for Walt, and I can't see them killing Holly. So I think Flynn's going to get killed. And it will be Walt's fault, directly.

What time does BB air in the UK?

Edit. If the show airs at night in the US, I'd say the episodes will be up early morning in the UK.

I'm sure that would have been a major factor in the Skyler-Beneke plot in season 3 and 4.

It could have been, but maybe it was something left out in fairness to Jr. In any case, that was more or less just some fun speculation. If and when Flynn gets it, I'm sure it's just going to involve driving his muscle car with two feet in anger after finding out that Walt is a complete and total fucking murderous criminal that Uncle Hank intends to stop.

Remember Walt has been his "father" for as long as he existed. It's not gonna be as simple as "OH NO HE DEALS METH NOW I HATE HIM." I'm sure that emotional conflict will be the primary focus on Walt Jr. these final episodes, and his fate of course.

I don't expect it to be so simple, but I find it impossible for Jr. to not find out what his father is and how he's in the middle of it all now, with his mother and uncle both wanting Walt dead or in prison. That's going to be more than just emotional conflict to deal with. That shit's going to destroy his little world.

Well, to be fair, not all Skyler defenders call Skyler haters "Misogynists". It's usually the juvenile-minded ones that do.

I'm more amused by the assumption that, if you hate Skyler, you obviously also approve of and cheer for Walt.

My predictions for deaths and their order, for Amir0x's contest:

1. Declan
2. Walt Jr
3. Skinny Pete
4. Todd via Hank
5. Hank via Todd

Wow man everyone thinks Walt jr. is going to die? That's some messed up shit, that will be hard to watch if it happens.

If we're making death predictions I'm going with this.

edit: actually im changin mah shit!!

Jesse kills Todd because fuck dudes named Todd
Walter kills Marie because she finds out
Jesse tries to kill Hank, but Hank kills Jesse instead
Skyler kills herself in Prison
Cancer kills Walt in Prison
Walt jr Kills Uncle Hank ohhhhhhhhhhhh

I really hope breaking bad ends with a big wild west style confrontation between Jesse and Walt. That stereotypical western music and everything. I can see it now. So badass.

Pardon my ignorance, but in Season 5 ep 8 when Hank is negotiating the plea deal with one of the 9, what does "Queen for a day" mean?

Yeah there is something there that wants to be with her. I am torn on this issue, as I think he does have some sort of "soul" left. I personally think he's at the point where if she can bring him down, his remaining love for her will be outweighed by his ego. Plus I think some of his desire for her is about power. My brain hurts

Walt sees her as a possession. She is his, and if he can't have her, nobody can.

He doesn't "love" her anymore, his ego would just be incredibly damaged if he were to "lose" her, because she's "his".

That's an interesting theory but I don't buy it. I think Walt still loves his family, but he just thinks he can live two lives; the family life and the drug kingpin life.

got a little confused because AMC is running old episodes before and AFTER the new episodes airs at 9PM

had to check the name of the Episode to avoid spoilers... got it. PVR, record series, first run only. DoNE

now I am safe

I'm thinking everyone dies but Walt and Saul.

Another prediction is Jesse gets all the fame and notoriety after his death, that Walt so desperately wants. And Walt will end the show the same way he began, a nobody.

For Amir0x :

Walt, Hank, Jessie, Marie, Flynn, Saul, Skyler, Todd, and Lydia

Walt kills Lydia
Jesse kills Todd
Skyler dies from crossfire from Neo-nazi gang
Hank kills Walt or Walt dies from cancer.

Hank, Marie, Saul, Walt Jr and Skyler live. Skyler might get locked up though.

Damn, so hyped.
There isn't much PR stuff left for me to pass the last couple hours..

Wish you all a great new episode, enjoy.
