You know, my hate for this dude has slowly turned into love. This guy is such a joke he's hilarious. Like the Mayor Quinby of real life.

Toronto Mayor Rob Ford, who was filmed smoking crack cocaine, paid a visit to Toronto's Taste of Danforth Street festival tonight. He apparently got loaded. Above is a video of Ford posted to YouTube tonight, in which he protests to passersby that he hasn't been driving, stops for some photos, and mumbles some other unintelligible things. Below is another video from tonight, in which he appears to be carrying a to-go cup of coffee, perhaps to sober up. There's nothing wrong with a mayor tying one on now and again. Don't smoke crack.

What the fuck were the people of Toronto thinking when they decided that this was the best choice.

Funny none the less

This is what I'm waiting for, if you hold your camera in portrait mode, the lenses rotates so that it films in landscape. Someone make that happen.

This will teach every city a lesson to not amalgamate surround suburbs.
Doing so shifts the voting power away from the city core and into the hands of the suburbanites.

You deserve Rob Ford

http://www.torontolife.com/informer/toronto-politics/2010/10/29/amalgamation-mike-harris’s-gift-that-keeps-on-giving-to-toronto-conservatives/

Kelly McParland writes in the National Post that maybe this was Harris’s plan from the beginning, since the original reasoning—cost savings—has turned out to be a bad joke. Rob Ford is exactly the kind of guy Harris would like; he even showed up at Ford’s victory party. (And don’t think the Ford camp wasn’t keeping Harris’s support on super-double-secret lockdown for a reason.) By the end of Ford’s term, assuming everything goes according to plan, traditionally progressive Toronto will have spent 10 of the 17 years since amalgamation being governed by suburban conservatives. If it was Harris’s plan to shackle Toronto with cost-cutting Tories, so far that’s a big “Mission Accomplished” for him.

Dude is a joke that keeps on going.

And looking at that map it shows the problems of combining everything without out laying suburbs.

That won't work because it'll be tiny on the screen, like watching 16:9 in portrait mode...

I even posted a thread about this ;) all they need to do is orient the UI on screen to work in horizontal mode only - boom, solved

if the icons are sideways people will just instinctively rotate

From crack to booze. He is bettering himself nicely. Commendable.

Actually, it's from booze to crack and back to booze, since he had the DUI a few years ago in Florida and several other allegations of drunkenness from before The Gravy Train ran on white gold.

Reminds me of when Ralph Klein, former premier of Alberta, walked into a homeless shelter when he was drunk and started yelling how "homeless people should go get jobs"

I wish Gawker would stop pointing out in every article that Rob Ford is on video smoking crack when there's still no video. Let it go, John

“A Crown attorney on the Project Traveller case, Paul Renwick, would not answer questions.

Daniel Brown, Siad’s lawyer, said in an email that ethical and professional obligations prevent him from speaking about anything he may have learned during his time as counsel. “Likewise, my conversations with prosecutors about any of my clients would be protected by the same solicitor-client privilege.”

“Unlike myself, the Toronto Police are not bound by privilege and would be in the best position to answer questions about what evidence is in their possession,” Brown said.

Brown also noted that while he is still the counsel of record for Siad, he is planning to make an application to remove himself from the case, for unspecified reasons.”

There is a thing called Crown Disclosure. The Crown Disclosure rule is that Crown must disclose all material information that is in its possession or control, even if the evidence isnÂ’t going to be called at trial or is inculpatory or exculpatory.

HereÂ’s what I know:

• Siad possessed the video.
• The police got the video when they arrested him, using a search warrant.
• The Crown office was then given the video.
• The Crown disclosed the video to lawyer Brown. He has it.

Will the video come out anytime soon? I donÂ’t know.

But what I do know is this: the video is in the hands of many people, now. And it has been seen by many more. And it shows Rob Ford smoking what appears to be crack cocaine.

It is real.

some people just should not be given even the smallest form of leverage!

Time to disown the Peel region from the GTA map, smh.
I yell this out EVERYTIME in any Toronto thread that most of TOGaf is sick of it. That map? It's entirely the 416 area. All of 905: York Region, Peel, etc, the "actual suburbs" don't actually affect how you had chosen your leader.

No one wants to blame their precious Etobicoke. Rob Ford, Doug Ford, Holyday, Ignatieff, Broten. The place that keeps on giving.
