No, I don't think it's a problem. Developing stuff to get ready for a show is an extremely time-consuming process that diverts attention from actual development. If the developer doesn't have anything at a polished, playable point, it's especially pointless. You don't need an announcement trailer twice, and they're not going to help themselves by forcing something out to make a show deadline when they were just at a show 2 months ago. Do you expect a new round of AAAs announced every 3 months or something?
Holy shit.
On Everybody goes to Rapture and Shadow of the Beat, we can't say anything about those games since they showed no gameplay whatsoever. That should never be allowed in a conference IMO. Final Fantasy 15 is the proper way to announce a game. Notice how they actually showed gameplay on their reveal.
It has been more than 3 months since the reveal of the PS4.
That was terribly underwhelming. Seems like they're trying to tell us that indie games are as good as their AAA titles.

Because we're getting the console 14 days after the US? Will be annoying during those 2 weeks when half the people on gaf are playing next gen games and we're still waiting. Not a huge deal or anything but it's a bit frustratingYou're getting the console about 14 days after the US, why are you complaining?
For what? You actually enjoy watching CGI trailers that tell you absolutely nothing about the game?
I did see those games. The fact I can't tell the difference between them and the indie games means I'm going to disregard them just the same. Shadow of the Beast wasn't gameplay so I don't care. I barely consider these ps4 games right now.
Gameplay on screen? Let's look at the audience!LOL so true, those perfect close-ups.
and then Andrew House said''Almost all PS4 games are playable using remote play''
''All PS4 games will be playable using remote play''
shadow of the beast being passed off as an indie game? wow...

Should have listened to mortimer
Gameplay on screen? Let's look at the audience!
Which is it Sony
After this conference, I'm contemplating just straight up canceling my PS4 and getting an Xbox One. How is it possible that MS was able to beat Sony when all they had was a presser? I guess Sony can only do well when their competition fucks up, but when they are on equal ground then they don't know what the hell to do.
Fire the director and/or vision mixer, not the camera operator.Fire the Cameraman or the producer behind that mess this show was !
The show was decent but the constant switching between cameras was AWFUL!
Why do i want to watch the crowd as a new game trailer is being shown ? :I
The upside:
- Indie love
- Everybody's Gone to the Rapture - A spiritual successor to the acclaimed Dear Esther.
- Rime
- Shadow of the Beast reboot - Amiga nostalgia in God of War's clothes. I'm hopeful but sceptical. I wonder if some of the old members of Psygnosis/Studio Liverpool are involved? If they are, that would definitely increase my interest for it.
- Housemarque's Resogun for free at launch.
- Helldivers looked somewhat similar to Dead Nation, which is definitely not a bad thing.
- The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth for free next year.
- Significant discount for those that buy a PS3 version of some of the upcoming games, and want to buy a PS4 version as well. Good gesture, eventhough it doesn't concern me personally, as I probably won't be buying any of those games in the first place.
- No paywall for entertainment services, which was already known, but it was still nice to hear it confirmed.
- Entertainment services announced for Europe.
- Minimalistic and stylish UI, like the XMB, without obtrusive ads. Hopefully there's some change in the background, like on the PS3 depending on the time of day or year, or a possibility to change the color; "Any color you like, as long as it's black."
- Launch in 32 countries, including Finland.
- The hilarious jab at Microsoft's 180 turn regarding the DRM tactics, and the crowd reaction.
The downside:
- Mere confirmation that ND, SSM and other Sony studios are working on new games (well, doh!), but none of them were shown.
