Nintendo Downloads - August 2013

LOL at the Snes Street Fighters. Seems even more a robbery than the original circa 100 Euro I paid for each one back in 1992-3-4.

At least they're not being trickled out individually, and there's an incentive to buy them all. That being said, I'll probably stick with my upgraded version of World Warrior for now.

I'm pretty sure all Wii controllers are compatible with Wii U VC games (except Gamecube controller for obvious reasons).

Really? I swore I tried to play some Off TV Punch Out with a classic controller setup and it wouldn't work. Could be that PO only works with just the WiiMote. I''ll have to try it again.

Correct. Wiimotes, Classic Controllers, all work. Every peripheral should that attaches to your Wiimote should also work.

€49.99 (£39.99)
GAME you need to beat £28 and make the 30% promotion meaningless...

This week's EU 3DS eShop update is pretty terrible. Would have been a perfect week to release Cave Story, just saying!
Sadly Nicalis is not in control of releases but NOE. Also the only get a 3 days head-up of the release (i.e. today's PR is that).

I'm assuming that has not changed from the Wii Shop days (where is was like that).

This week in Europe

Wii U
The Wonderful 101 €49.99 (£39.99)
Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams €14.99 (£12.99)

Wii U VC
Super Street Fighter™ II: The New Challengers €7.99 (£5.49)

3DS
Cut The Rope €4.99 (£4.49)
Carps & Dragons €4.99 (£4.49)
Boulder Dash-XL 3D €4.99 (£4.49)
Kinda glad I don't live in Europe, I would be pretty poor this week!

So glad about this. I'm only interested in upgrading SF2 Turbo. Although I wished Alpha 2 came out as well.

Yup, Flipnote 3D has already been delayed for 3 weeks. What's taking so long.
I wrote Nintendo asking them about it and the customer service rep that emailed me back said it should still be out before the end of the summer, which unfortunately means it could be another month yet.

Devs set price and release date. Your info is very very very outdated. This is the eShop, not WiiWare anymore.

Are the EU releases of the 3 SF2 games the 60hz US versions?

(I bought one of them on my Wii, so I might upgrade it).

Also W101 will be £27.99 and after using my £5 credit, it'll be £22.99. Aww Yeah!

Dunno if this was known. ATLUS eShop sale.

IRVINE, Calif. - Aug. 19, 2013 -
Beginning today, the vast majority of the ATLUS catalogue for the Nintendo 3DS hand-held system, which includes Soul Hackers, Code of Princess and Etrian Odyssey IV, will be on sale for $10 off. This sale is for a limited time and is only valid for digital purchases from the Nintendo eShop in North America. After Aug. 31, each game will revert to its normal price.

Code of Princess - On sale for $19.99
Blending frantic fighting with elements of classic arcade side-scrolling beat 'em ups and the character development and growth of an RPG, fans of action will savor the game's frenetic combat. Out-of-this-world multipliers punctuate the strategic demands of battling hordes of enemies on a three-railed battlefield.

Soul Hackers - On sale for $29.99
Soul Hackers is a first-person RPG that takes place in the futuristic Amami City. The city is permeated by Paradigm X, a virtual reality world that connects the entire populace. The main character is thrust into conflict when he accidentally gets his girlfriend possessed by the demon Nemissa. Soul Hackers carries on the first-person RPG play in the same vein as other games in the Shin Megami Tensei franchise. The graphical style remains faithful to the original 1997 version, but is optimized with 3-D graphics for the Nintendo 3DS system.

Etrian Odyssey IV - On sale for $29.99
The first-person dungeon crawling Etrian Odyssey series returns in its first installment for the Nintendo 3DS. Use the system's touch screen to draw maps of each unique dungeon, create a party consisting of any blend of the game's character classes, and conquer dungeon puzzles and giant FOE monsters in the pursuit of fame and fortune. Set out into the clouds aboard a skyship to explore Tharsis's oldest mystery.

Sale prices valid only for a limited time, and only in the Nintendo eShop on Nintendo 3DS. Code of Princess is rated T for Teen, Soul Hackers is rated M for Mature, and Etrian Odyssey IV is rated T for Teen. After Aug. 31, the games will revert to their regular prices. ahaha! exactly the same here. 5 bucks from digital deluxe and 30% of from pikmin.

I'm loving it!

Mega Man games are 60Hz US versions. No reason why SF2 trilogy shouldn't as they don't have any localized text which is the thing keeping the 50Hz BS alive over here.

Just to be clear, NA is getting a similar but not identical deal: if you buy any of the three versions of SF2 the other two will be available for half price.
Whoops, didn't read that right. Let me clarify:

NA: Buy 1, get the other 2 for 1/2 off (so in a way, if you buy all 3, you're technically paying the price for 2 of them)

EU: Buy 2, get the 3rd free.

60 Hz wins again.

Glandarius Wing Strike is in development for the WiiU. It apparently took one week to port the game over with Web Framework.

Someone should create a thread...

For a video:

a playable version of Glandarius?
count me in

Web Framework should give several shmups(a genre the Wii U is lacking right now) the chance to appear on WiiU.

awesome

Not saying it's probable but is it legally possible for Nintendo to put out the DKC games for free, assuming their is a licensing issue?

Underwhelming Japanese 3DS eShop next week with Mappy, a Nikoli puzzle game, a DSiWare quiz and three more over-priced eBooks including Detective Conan.

Not saying it's probable but is it legally possible for Nintendo to put out the DKC games for free, assuming their is a licensing issue?

? How does that logic work. If there were licensing issues, how would they be able to put it out for FREE?!

"Yo I don't have the right to sell this but how about I just give it away? That surely doesn't bother you, right?"

Pretty awesome deal. Definitely getting it. Told my wife about it, she flipped out. Hopefully, the games all run well on 3DS. Haven't tried any of those versions.
They all work much better, post-FW update from a couple months ago. You'll still only want to play Runner in 2D mode though.

$5 is an insane price. People will tell you to buy Bit Trip Complete on Wii instead, but it's definitely worth the entry price to have them all portable. The Wii version added in online leader boards, but they were almost entirely worthless.

As someone who got ALL the games on WiiWare, I can completely suggest getting this. Heck, I'm half tempted to double dip as well just to have this on the go (& no have to use the motion controls for some of the games).

And yet still no Runner 2 for NZ/Aus. >_>

They say blame Nintendo, I don't understand why Nintendo would be specifically leaving it off our store when its been on the Euro one forever.

Its had a discount and DLC released for it for everyone else but we still can't even get the actual game.

*sigh*
