I bought wow today. It was a bitch to find. It took me visiting 7 stores and calling a bunch of them till I found a gamespot with 1 copy left. Now if only the servers would go back up si Could start playing.

To be honest...I bought every single top game in November (including GTA:SA). When WoW was released on the 23rd, I picked up the CE and have not stopped playing it since....even though I have other top games to play. It is CRACK!!!!!

MMORPGs are still niche games.. picking one as GOTY? That was a disagreeable decision to say the least.. WOW didn't mean anything to a vast majority of gamers..

Nothing. I just think of a game that had some serious impact on gaming as a whole when I think about the title GOTY.. from a sheer 'quality' point of view, I wouldn't know how to judge WOW anyway, never played it..

Award lists are so ridiculous there, there were just too many good games to honor one GotY or just one game in each category. The crazy thing is that I thought Gamespots pics were cool--not what I would have picked in each case, but they were solid picks--but I could easily see another site picking entirely different games in almost every category and still agreeing with that list as much as this one. Anyway, I think that's a good thing. Mostly I'm just looking at the list to remind myself how awesome this year was and to see what I might have missed.

I know. Eventhough I was happy WoW got GOTY, as soon as I look at my MGS3 box I start to think otherwise. There is no way I can decide something like that... they are both too good. :O
