3DS Streetpass Experiences

If I streetpass 50 people, are the other 40 wasted?

Or do i use 10, then suddenly another 10 show up, four times?
40 will be wasted...you can get this down to 30 though.

As the queue can only hold 10 (see the notifications tab on the home menu). The best you can do is get 10, start up Mii plaza to get them through the gate. The queue is now 0, so you can add 10 to the queue. When you next reboot Mii plaza if you've not used the 10 you loaded to play all the games it'll ask you if you want to play the remaining games or go to the gate. This effectively means you can pick up 20 without having play any games.

If you're going to somewhere with lots of hits, give priority to playing a few games and going through gate (puzzle swap, quest and battle are very quick to play).

You can only have 10 people at your gate at a time. Anyone else after that is just ignored. You have to be pretty diligent if you think you'll interact with more.

I was hopeful with the new games they'd expand the number that the system could have in memory, but obviously that hasn't happened yet.

Has anyone recognized the hit they encountered? At gamescom i was sitting in a restaurant when i got 2 hits. I looked around and saw the couple who looked exactly like their mii's. Dunno why but i founded quite funny.

Only once. A nerdy/pin-up lady on the train. Quite distinctive.

On the flip side, I've had a group actively talk about my Mii on the train with me sitting in the row next to them without them realizing it was me.

The fact the new achievements are taking so long to be uncovered makes me nervous about how hard they are.....

The only one that I know of is to get 1,000 Fantastic Ratings which is ridiculousssssssss

I should have this one by 2015 since you can get repeat Fantastic ratings now (though you have to keep changing your hat).

Got 10 tags today, most in a day. First day of college classes and I work in the bookstore, had my 3DS in a drawer at my desk in a printing station that's a very high traffic area. (I'm reading on some Google search that it's about a 30 ft range, I guess reduced a bit because of being in a drawer).

I'm the only of the 29 people I've passed that has a weird character. There's ONE guy who has exaggerated eyebrows.

Heemy.

edit: ok reading above I probably got more than 10 but that's the limit. Ehh. They should let you reserve a certain amount of your SD card for holding more or something.

If I am playing DS games, and I exit the game back to the main 3DS menu in order to Streetpass, will it show my last game played as the DS game?

What is the criteria for the game it shows you as having been playing, is it specifically that calendar day or the last 24 hours or something else entire;y?

Just the last app you were in.

So if you were in Animal Crossing last, then it will show that, if you were changing your Mii, then it will show that as your recently played.

That makes sense of how many people seem to be using the Zone Viewer or Activity Log then. The way it's worded in the plaza greeting bit made it sound to me like there was a little more to it.

So when I pop-out of Animal Crossing to upload photos, I look like the world's biggest Internet Browser fan to the people I pass?

Man it takes forever to play all the streetpass games now. I only got like 70 tags at FanExpo on Sunday when previously I got a couple hundred. The difference was how long to took to play through all 6 games.

I also got an ad once. "5 of your 10 tags are playing Animal crossing. Would you like to go to the E-Shop and learn more about it?".

I can't wait for "6 of your 10 tags are playing system settings. Would you like to learn more about it?" :p

That was daft vs.
Ninjas
in streetpass battle. Formation of 6k, 25k, 10k. How do I win? Easy,
make sure each army is >20k
. What do I do?
Make one 50k to get a gold star and hope 25k gets drawn first...it doesn't.

As for Garden, I'm done on the quest guild for a while...stupid Crowning Achievement. The seeds provided do not want to become the plant you need to complete the quest (and I can't just buy the required seed as seeing the plant is not enough, you need to have flowered it yourself too)...I never want to see a Dainty Morgana again...

I was a 3DS sound fan but I've moved on to...Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland. Maybe I should go with Make 10 instead?

Oh man. I bet there's an achievement for getting a million Streetpasses.
I'm surprised they did not add any more to "Met the same Mii..." especially as the limit have been lifted beyond 99 now...

In theory (which makes things more scary) only one of these is impossible in Europe; 10th StreetPass tag with a Special Mii. Thanks, NOE. In practice it takes like 200 days of 100 tags to even get to 20,000 hits (which is the furthest anyone has got). Yeah the accomplishments are for fun, not for gamerscore.

does the browser count as a full app? It can run concurrently with a game unlike, eg, settings menu or whatever.

It's easier to achieve assured victory situations by making one of your armies the minimum size, then sending it out to die first. This will hopefully draw out the opposing army's strongest, but even if it doesn't your other two armies will be that much stronger.

That was basically what I have been doing for the past few kingdoms (one guaranteed win and the other will win in one of the remaining situations predicted using spying) but here I should have just gone even split for all 3 (as I could not 2 armies strong enough to finish the 25k one off but could have made 3 armies strong enough to beat the 10k and also 6k) as spying is useless when the remaining types are the same.

The ninja battles are usually balanced so that you don't really have enough in your army to do that unless you spend a few turns stocking up first. I still prefer the wimpy bait approach as you end up with two strong attacking armies; this doesn't take the element of chance out of battles with ninjas, but you probably need to reach the final battle to get a critical strike chance anyway....

I took it with me to the gamescom last week. Over the whole day i met in Streetpass just 11 people. Not very much as there were thousands other gamers arround there.

40 different weapons in Monster Manor get! :D

- Edit -

Just finished my third Warrior's Way playthrough. Final army = ~9,250,000 (started the fight with ~8,320,000).
This is how it went the previous time:

Yeah, I would like to know the logic behind it :P

Anyway, I beat the game again last night (2nd time), 555,004 vs 1,100,000. It went like this:
1. I chose rock, he chose scissors.
2. My army now is slightly bigger.
3. For the next 4 turns, I chose scissors and he also chose scissors.
4. I won after 1 victory and 4 ties in a row :D

This time it went the other way around: I won after 4 ties in a row and 1 victory at the end:
1. Paper vs paper
2. Scissors vs scissors
3. Scissors vs scissors
4. Paper vs paper
5. Paper vs rock

Now to start over to get the last three tickets (greet 100 times, battle 300 times, hire 20 times).

I'm on my third playthrough now; when I finished my second I just chose rock all five times, and the emperor chose rock, scissors, rock, rock, scissors.

This playthrough is being stingy about castle upgrades... are these randomized?

It there any point to progressing through StreetPass Battle/Warriors Way once your army is maxed out? I'm just grinding for the Battle 300 times now, as well as greet 100 times.

also, regarding the "greeting" option... if you do that for a fellow monarch and they greet you on their own 3DS they occasionally receive some troops from you. Does that only happen if you've been greeting, rather than fighting them?

I've come to the realisation that most of my storage contents in mansion complete trash. I thought good abilities on bad weapons is how you should roll with stock...nope, you should get high levels as well so you get good EXP for the gems spent.

Just to troll people with your 9,999,999 army. Get the tickets and then give up and keep a small army I'd say (to help others out). 300 fights...well I am less than 10% of the way there *welp*.

I think I'm going to pass the 300 total tag milestone today. Woo.

I already have a group of 10 in the plaza. Hopefully I can pick-up a few more before I leave.

I now have a regular StreetPass nemesis. He has a terrible/weird name (daddy), an annoying face, shit taste in hats and sends me a personalised greeting every time. They're not sexually suggestive unfortunately, which would be interesting and a little sexy and flattering but tedious utterings like "game on! :D" which just make me loathe him all the more. The relays make it harder to track him down too, damn them.

Probably mentioned in the 2DS thread, but since this has became THE thread for 3ds cheating, it is interesting to note that the 2DS pics show a change in the icon display

With special note to the settings going up, which would mean both that

1) People will not know that you are a coin cheater anymore
2) it will make the date change process faster

Nah, the other thread is for cheating. We're cool.

I have now collected exactly 200 passes since the new games were released. All natural.

So you can't adjust the brightness on this new model?

Went to Toronto last weekend, and I got around 17 streetpasses total during my stay. Eaton Centre alone took 12 of those, and I only spent around an hour there. I conclude Canadians are better at this streetpass business --or maybe 3DS owners are just concentrated in the city centers?

I haven't gotten any in a while. I leave it in the car when going to the bookstore or mall. But then I generally park out and away from the automotive riff-raff, keeping me distant from foot traffic.

I did get one pass recently (predictably, yet another Animal Crossing/Mario Kart) when picking up a temporary prescription from the drugstore. It was apparently the daughter of the guy whose hide-behind-the-blacked-out-window truck almost grazed my door backing into a spot next to me (seen as I was exiting the store).

...Reaffirming my parking preference.

It just makes sense. More people = more potential passes. But there is also the question of motivation.

If you live in a rural area where you get very few passes, there is far less incentive to carry your 3DS around all the time. If you don't carry it, then someone else won't get their pass, and they leave theirs at home too. It's a vicious cycle.

Eaton Centre is a tourist attraction and is located in the "center" of downtown and has lots of people. It also has a university "attached" to it, but the semester didn't start yet. You would have had a tougher time trying to StreetPass someone outside of downtown.

Firmware update added the ability to adjust brightness from the system settings. But given that power saving is crossed out on the fact sheet I assume that mode is gone (or, you can't turn off wireless).

Maybe firmware 7.0 will have all system settings changeable without having to run system settings.

Is there a limit to the number of times you can street pass somebody?
Not more than once every 8 hours (unless you relay and stalk the person as they do their relay circuit)...also it used to stop counting at 99 times.

Ahh you're right I forgot that addition. It seemed very odd at the time but makes sense if they do move the entire Settings menu to the tab, hopefully they make the Health & Safety 'App' an option within Settings when they move it too.

EDIT: Okay no hope in that happening, you can see it one the 'new' menu screen :P

That's true about more people leading to more streetpasses, but based on my experience walking around Chicago for a day (Navy Pier and Millennium Park), I only got 10 total, whereas just in Eaton Centre I got 12, most of them at the food court. Perhaps having a lot of Uni students played a factor in that; I was aware many were moving in last week.

Taking the 3DS to campus got me a lot of hits thanks to there being nintendo zones all over campus for some reason. This is a lot more awesome than hoping for 3 or 4 passes in a day

Loving Homepass relays. Love that Nintendo finally put something together that allowed other people to "fix" the inherent issues with lack of Streetpasses in person. :)

Eww, I only had 6 passes from my first sweep of the area today.

Do I try and fill-up the first batch, or pull them through the gate and hope for a big crop this afternoon?

You can adjust brightness and turn off wireless (I prefer the physical button):

And that would be an excellent idea for 7.0.

Indeed.
I really enjoy the 4 new Mii Plaza games

Is anyone here part of a Streetpass group? I'm part of a group that schedule MeetUps once a month to collect Streetpasses and play some games.

I thought there'd be more group experiences in this thread...

Anyone has had this issue with Warrior's Way?
Every time the game tries to save or load the the army rankings, it crashes. It only happens in Warrior's Way.
