US/CAN Club Nintendo Thread: New and improved. Read the OP.

Mario and Luigi Dream team pushed me into Gold today. Platinum should be no problem.

If we were to get a W101 necklace as a reward that would be great. Oh well, a person can dream. :(

Whew! Made it in the nick of time.

Seriously though, this is by far the quickest I've ever made platinum. Of course, buying Nintendo hardware never hurts.

Does anyone know if I just have to redeem the $30 credit before the end of September, or the credit expires then?
I'm pretty sure the expiration date only speaks to adding the credit to your eShop account. Once it's in there, it's yours 'til you use it.

Still can't believe Nintendo hasn't put up a complete set of new rewards in the shop. It's been so long :/
All that overstock of old DS and Wii rewards and random knick-knacks nobody wants... NoA should open Club Nintendo to some smaller market countries in the region to dump all this old stuff to.

Not really adding but more registering the codes for both games to qualify for this promo. After doing that, you still have till December 31 to register the download code that you will get.

Got a new Wii U, waiting for Nintendo to get back to me in regards to getting my CN unlinked from my old NNID to link to my new one... with that being said, if I bought games from the eshop before linking, would I still get the coins for them once I get it linked, or should I wait to purchase anything from the eshop until then?

You have to link it first or you won't get the coins (I've lost a bunch of coins because of that).

I've never done this thing before so I took about an hour to enter all the codes I've collected over the past few years. I've got nearly 2000 points. Will I get to choose an elite gift this year? I read the op and I didn't find the answer to that. It reads like I would have to be a platinum member in July to pick the prize. An I reading that right?

If so I'm just gonna blow all these points on whatever.

You hit Platinum for the year, which will end on June 30, 2014.
You get to choose whether you want the Platinum pirze or the Gold prize for this year (we won't know what it is until the year ends).
Your Platinum or Gold prize will not cost you any coins, so you can spend your coins on whatever you want, whenever you want, so long as your coins don't expire.

Ok awesome! Thanks for the quick response and info.

guys, I got the $30 dollar coupon of Fire Emblem + SMT 4... but I'm not sure if I spend it on the 3DS or the WiiU...

I already have the code, anyone knows when it expires? (if it ever expires), I'm kinda waiting for something cool on the eshop to spend it.

thanks.

The code must be redeemed within the Nintendo eShop by December 31st, 2013.

You have to redeem the code before the end of the year but you don't have to spend the credit right away.

I believe you have until the end of 2013 to actually use your code

I was in the same position but then EarthBound dropped on Wii U, and my decision got made for me :P

I just hit Gold for 2014 and finished all the queued surveys that fell in this CN year.

I'm sitting on a ton of codes I could put in, but what is the best way to continue?

1) Enter a few codes now for the most recent releases for maximum coinage?

or

2) Hold off since I might buy things in the eShops and only enter the codes next June if needed, though they might be worth less then?

So, uh, I've been throwing my head at this problem for the past half hour and decided that this seems a better place to ask (and do) than anything else. The Club Nintendo site, uh, isn't actually letting me sign up. I get most of it done, put in my birth-date, username, address, etc, checked if I've checked off the Terms and Services, and finalize... then it kicks me back to the Club Nintendo home-page. And I don't get a confirmation eMail or anything like that. And yes, I've checked my spam folder. I've tried with more than a few eMail addresses, and wanted to know if anyone else ran into this problem? I'd love to get this done before the SMTIV + FE:A promotion ends.

did you try a different browser? The website is very finicky at times.

Is your browser up to date? Try a different one maybe? Sorry, I haven't experienced this problem, I transitioned from a My Nintendo account.

*edit* beat

Browser issue is probably the issue. If it works for me on TenFourFox then it must be browser related. PowerPC until it dies.

...dammit, I feel like an idiot. Worked perfectly when I tried it on Chrome. Thanks for the help. I'll be in a good position for when AA5 comes out, I think.

i wont even lie last year to make platinum i was a few points short, so i went to gamestop bought a used copy of wii fit plus. code was still in box... used it...it worked ! returned an hour later

Okay people... I have kind of a problem with my CN Account and I don't know where else to post this. I trust you guys.

The thing is that I'm not from the US, I'm from Chile. It's not something rare to have a Club Nintendo account and just use your coins for the monthly free digital game and stuff, just taking advantage of a service that should be not only in North America but Central and South America, too. Lately I had something like 1200 coins (gotten by purchasing new games here and my new Nintendo 3DSXL) and two SMTxFE $30 promo codes gotten by me and my sister buying the games (I registered one pair in my own account and another in my sister's linked family account created just for that. She decided to gift me the code thanks to my birthday coming up and I used both on my console).

The problem is that this August 27 I noticed that I couldn't enter my Club Nintendo account since it was locked. Sent an e-mail to customer support and I received this response:

In order to assist you with your situation, it is necessary for us to speak with you directly. This is so that we may discuss the details and work out the best solution. At your earliest convenience, please contact our Consumer Service Administration Department at 1-800-448-6797. Representatives are available every day from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Pacific time. Please have your reference number 23******* ready at the time of the call.

Then, I turned my 3DS on and Cave Story, a game that I bought the 22 of August thanks to my FExSMTIV promo money dissapeared from my main menu. Searching on my account activity in the eShop I found this (I'll link some photos when I get home):

It seems that Nintendo decided that my account was weird or something and pulled the money from one of the SMTxFE promos and the content/games bought with that money. AND also decided to lock down my CN account.

Now, I would call their customer attention number (it's free on Skype) but my situation here as you can see is really complicated. My spoken English is not really THAT good and I don't have a real US address. Not mentioning that the whole "Please have your reference number ready at the time of the call" quote makes me think they will try and call it...

What would you recommend me to do? I really feel like losing a lot with this, and potentially losing my CN account at top of it is... really really bad. Not only games are overpriced here, but sometimes really hard to get by.

Please, what do you think of this? Can anybody shed some light or/and try to help? It would be very, VERY much appreciated.

PS: Sorry for my English, not my natural language so maybe some stuff can be confusing. Feel free to ask me anything.

I like the game prizes better than physical ones

But REALLY, they should start offering some WiiU games. Its getting ridiculous.
At the very least, the games can eventually be upgraded on WiiU for dirt cheap.

We're probably not going to see WiiU VC games until next year, and Nintendo has barely put out original WiiU shop content, so even longer wait there...

Sorry to hear about this
I'll help quote this to the top of the page so any one that can help you can see it

Keropon: thaaaat reeeeeally sucks. I can't believe they actually pulled the games directly off your system. :<

have you any idea what you might've said or done to clue them in to your whereabouts?

Wow, I had no idea they could make games disappear that were already on your system. That's so creepy! The only good thing about it is if someone steals your system they can possibly take the games away off the original system, which I guess then justifies why they can credit you with the games again on another system.

New games in ~45 mins right?

Hoping for a better selection than August had... have around 550 coins in my wallet so I'm ready to redeem, just need something good!
