God I don't know how much more of this I can take. Rolled back the drivers, finally got in after about 45 minutes of errors, got into a new group, crash again.


edit: Oh, can't update NA/EU list. AWESOME.

Anyone else having connection issues while playing lately? I been getting a lot of lag since last night, where the game world just freezes for a period of time and then eventually turns into error 90k.

yeah, been getting a good deal of lag over the past few days, that and two lag related CTDs

As per the interview I linked above:

" We were also told that while players may be seeing tons of other players idling around AFK, the vast majority of players logging in are actually playing, they’re just putting in some crazy hours."

So, in other words, there is no AFK problem so dont expect a fix any time soon.
 
Man, Macros reduce the strain of button smashing so much, especially for Monk. I'm gonna roll my moves into combos so I don't have to keyboard cat everything.
 
OK now I'm pissed of!! WTf!?!?!?!

Now that the JP servers are not loading whenever I enter the character select screen it highlights this and stays at it. So now the script I made to automatically
log in gets fucking stuck on selecting a JP server for which I don't even have a character!!!!

EDIT: Lobby error, i'm fully out now. Fuck today is really really bad

EDIT2: Now US/EU server are not loading...shit

up/down = switch between party members
left/right = enemies

The good thing is that is a kind of soft trageting, in that it dosn't lock on in that enemy or party member, after using the ability it goes back to your main target.

L2/R2 + L1 = switch targets

Its like using TAB on a keyboard.

The one thing it sucks in macros is that if you use another skill in between it cancels the macro one, i wish they just get into some queue. in which is waits until it can be used.
 
I still want to play this, but I had a hunch SE wouldn't sort through the login issues for awhile so I didn't buy the game yet.

I think I'll wait a month or two before I decide to hop in. I'll see how things go by then.

Good idea. Game is solid though, and fun. it's the server issues that pisses people off.

They are just blowing smoke up our asses, their obviously is a problem and it's been growing as players have taken note to not log out. In one part of town yesterday on Ultros I counted 10 players who were afk and were there in the same exact spot since early in the morning for over 8 hours. And that was in one tavern in the game. Can't imagine how many there are all over the world.
 
Mira Mora if you see this, I'm sorry! We were waiting to run Brayflox and my game suddenly crashed and gave me an error about "pure virtual function call" or something. 1017 at the login screen so I don't think I'll be back in anytime soon :(

Ya it's contributing to the full servers, but auto kick won't fix it. People will just bot to move every so often so they don't get kicked.

I call bullshit. Just put in an AFK kick after like 2 hours. It would alleviate so much.
 
I'm done...the game's lobby can't even load correctly or load the US or JP servers half of the time which for some reason is causing trouble for my log in script. I'm done it really is bad, why is the update taking so long? A week and a half? Can;t they have done some small fix earlier, because I bet that Wednesday fix will still cause the same trouble only with more servers.

It's just like 11 more or less. And actually, if you use an instant cast move, it doesn't affect the macro itself because it's a timer. I've squeezed in moves with my scholar that way.

That's not a reason to not put it in. It takes no effort to stay afk, but most people are not suddenly going to be installing bots. Some could sure, but at least it would help. It's silly to not have an auto kick function letting people just eat up your server resources.

This reaks about their comments about RMT in XI. They did nothing about RMT for years saying they weren't an issue as economies spiraled out of control. Then finally they started to mass bans after the writing had been on the wall for like 2 years.

i got the start button and server list problem as well. they made me hopeful with that queue, just to crush my dreams.
 
I guess I made an okay decision to wait a few weeks to redeem my time and avoid the problems and Labor Day. If they add a week to the 30 days, that would be amazing.
 
So in my teamspeak server chat room I was informed of the time about the time the servers will be down. Yeah it starts when I get off work. LOL
 
Most people already have a login bot(the same people desperate enough to devote their computer to running the game all day), to keep it from saying your ago you only need to change num 0 to w.

How are you going to know if they are botting to kick them?

It might help, but the people that think Afk detection alone will solve the problem are fooling themselves.

"All square has to do is add an Afk kicker and problem solved" is unlikely.

I think it's done with the D-Pad. I haven't tried it yet, been unable to log in today and the last time I did was back on 8/27. ^^;

Nobody is saying problem solved, or at least they shouldn't be. But it would certainly help for the LITTLE RESOURCES they have to commit to make it happen.

What do you mean "most" people have bots to login. I call bullshit on that. So 51%+ of FFXIV players have bots to login? Let's rule out every PS3 player. Then look at the PC base and you think at least 51% of those ppl have bots? LOL

Well, Square is alleging that the problem isn't as much to do with players staying logged in as the duty finder. So when they address the duty finder they can probably increase the player caps. In my mind, if I'm being generous, they have the proper capacity for players, but misjudged the resources the duty finder would require. So they're going to fix the duty finder problems and then be able to increase the player caps to what they originally had in mind.

All that being said, it's likely still not going to be running any better after maintenance.

I wouldn't be surprised if most of the people online at any given time are playing, but the fact that people can get away with just sitting AFK all day looks really bad for those who aren't while they run out in the world.

Bullshit, go to any major hub area and you can see the problem...if you are able to actually you know, log in.
