PS VITA TV announced (~$100, Vita set top box - as in it has no screen - for TVs)

GodEater 2, Dragon's Crown, FFX/X-2, EDF3, Persona 4 Golden, SoulSacrifice all supported.

I don't see Uncharted and Gravity Daze.

Boo! What a missed opportunity. Spelunky also supports four player games. Come on, didn't the PS3 support like, 7 controllers or something ridiculous!

Edit: Though it's a very good question how multiplayer would be supported.... Would games have to patch it in? I have to imagine it would work a totally different way.

At least initially, only PS1 games will support split screen multiplayer.

It's not a $100 Minecraft box though, you still need a DS3, an insanely priced memory card, and the game. At that point, why not just get the PS3?

Dual Shocks can be bought used for around $20, and a $15 4GB would suffice. So that would be ~$135 for a Minecraft box.

Does anyone else think this new improved Sony is partially a result of having a CEO that understands gaming and its potential as an entertainment platform going forward?

Suddenly all those Kaz gifs don't seem so silly anymore..

No gravity daze or tearaway on vita tv are huuuuge downers. Those are my 2 main titles in interested onfor vita. Sucks, this might have been perfect for me.

Not an excuse. Why the hell would somebody buy a Vita TV if they were planning on buying a PS4?
Most of the people they are aiming at? People interested in Vita games or a streaming box that don't want a $400 console at launch?
They could have released the DS4 in the box (assuming they have enough mass-produced to go around) and left PS3 behind, instead they're contributing to the fragmentation of PS products.
That fragmentation would exist regardless, they'd have DS3 support because there are a ton of people out there with them. Putting a DS4 in would add extra cost, so they wouldn't do it for every sku.

Oh shit hell yeah, too much megatons in one day
You do realize that this is a different Amnesia, right?

This will be pretty cool for folks interested in Vita games but don't like using handhelds. Oh wait, Vita has no games. But seriously, Uncharted.

So a Nintendo handheld doing this down the line seems less...crazy now I'd imagine. I'd have to have a single screen however unless you used it with the gamepad.

This plays psmobile games too?

PS Mobile support is regional but the hardware should be capable of it.

It feels as if - they have a strategy now.

wait, how will this emulate the touch features ?

also, what the fuck lol. I'm actually fairly interested in this because of the low price.

Again, the games that make use of the gyro and touch screen can all be mapped to the DS4, but that won't come until PS4 launches in Japan.
I wouldn't worry about those games in particular, as they're first party, they'll definitely be supported in future. The list we're seeing now is just what's confirmed so far.

The quality will be quite bad if upscaling to 1080. The last time I remember a game upscaling from like 540p is Halo 3.

I use my Vita every day for youtube and skype when I don't want to be near a PC, plus I don't own a TV so not much use to me.

I'll get it since I won't actually have to use a handheld any more. Always feel more comfortable with a pad.

And seriously Uncharted? You mean the worst Uncharted game filled with so many gimmicks to the point that it won't even run on this device? Unless you know something that is

Considering this seems more a household device compared to normal Vita's with it's Remote Play and TV streaming option, I wonder if we'll finally be allowed to have multiple accounts? Because to this day from the Vita announcement, being locked to a single account at a time is the most annoying thing about the Vita by far.

My brother will actually want to play some games now since they can do so on a TV with a DS3/DS4. there has to be multiple account options. Right?
not gonna happen...

It uses memory cards so it will most like key be the same sorry

Have you played tearaway? I don't think it's patchable. I hope you are right. I'm holding off till then.

First off: Fucking hyped! Didn't see this coming at all & its going to be sold at a reasonable price. Day 1.

Secondly: I think the DS3 complaints are a little much. You'll be playing PSP/Vita games at first which wouldn't really need a DS4. If you plan on streaming PS4 you'll already have a DS4. Am I missing something?

Only way it hurts is if they get devs to use the trackpad for Vita games, then it would make sense.

Kind of sort of makes up for no TLG
