What is it that you're trying to do? 1.0 account holders don't have to register for anything, you just play on the account that you were using at the time. Your characters should still be there.
I mostly just wanted the 30 day free time alongside the preorder items. I guess 1.0 accounts can't get the 30 day time? Or do we already get it?

And shield swipe is great, but it really should not be on the GCD. I would use it more if it were off GCD and had a longer cooldown.

If you are 1.0 you can't get the 30 day bonus, you get 2 weeks free, I think it's finishing up soon

You can say be 1.0 and get 30 days added if you buy the PS3 version, that adds to your thing

I did about 20 AK Speed runs over the weekend and damn I am convinced that this game needs some sort of Gear Item Level prerequisite for dungeons. People in Lv.30 gear should not be queuing for AK as the dungeon is heavily gear (especially weapon) dependent.

I also did HM Ifrit a dozen times - it's easy with a PLD offtank for stuns and a caster DPS for Meteor to burn down the phase 2 transition. When there were parties with 2 WAR tanks and no caster DPS, people would just bail.

Get ready for some serious elitism shit in this game :/

These are probably the assholes running 30-50 on FATE Farming where they dont need to give two shits about their gear and play. They think they are okay to just jump into the level 50 dungeons and they'll get what they need and not have to buy necessary gear.

And yeah, I even had someone in the GAF FC bail last night because we didn't have a BLM for Ifrit HM. Kinda lame, it's harder for sure without one but still doable.

You didn't have a SMN either?

Ah. I also tend to stuff in a fracture as well too. Think that's 220 total.

Aye, if I really need to hurt the enemy, it usually goes something like FoF > Fast > Savage > Blood > Halone > Circle of Scorn > Fracture > Spirits Within > Shield Swipe if it's up.

I haven't noticed Convalescence help at all with HoT effects from Blood/Scorn/Fracture though... I don't think it applies to that which is a shame, but by all means prove me wrong if it does.

Dude, I know right! I've seen several people wearing nothing but (seemingly) vendor gear from Coerthas. No AF. No GC gear. One bard in AK even said, "that armor looks gay" and he wasn't wearing it :(

Other MMORPGs enforce a gear level for entry into instances/raids and FFXIV has the gear level so it shouldn't be hard to incorporate it and keep under-qualified players on the correct path.

I like the mansion music the most, maybe because for some reason that's the dungeon I played the most. All of the music are fantastic and as good as XI's.

So my partner is stressing out because he feels gimped as a Summoner. All the pet management issues and the weak AoE capability have him bummed out. What should I tell him? He's a great player and I don't think he needs to reroll just to enjoy the endgame.

So I got an email from S-E this weekend saying that they think my account had been compromised and to change my password. So I did. Upon my next login, i noticed that all my Gil was gone. about 25000. How the hell did the farmers manage to get my password? my passwords are always 8 to 14 characters with upper and lowercase.

Don't remember honestly, but we ran Duty Finder and there were a lot of new people, we wiped once and a bunch of people just dropped. I'm cool if you're gonna tell me that you don't think it will work and you don't want to waste people's times, but to just drop out without a word is kinda silly.

I got tired and NFL Week 1 started or I would have been your go to BLM

No worries - I'll be running a lot more tonight, I want my Axe ASAP. Will hit you up if you're on.

I've met a lot of these lv50s who don't even realize that their Job quests continue after 30...so that might explain the lack of AF. It's only the easiest gear to aquire ever.

Uh, tell him not to listen to fools and do his thing. Plus, he doesn't have to reroll. He can freely switch classes on the fly. People still don't understand this or...?

Well, I think that they have to go and do the quest to raise the level cap, but they aren't swapping out gears. For a DPS, this is a big deal since Lv.50 gear and GC gears have great increases over some of the AF.

The game needs to enforce a prerequisite gear level for dungeons/bosses.

Did you change your password from a link in the email or by going to the site in another tab manually? Because if you clicked a link in the email... that's probably your answer.

No, you are just confusing the visual disappearing with the time the ability executes. Thats wrong. It executes when the cast bar completes, if the enemy has a cast bar for that ability. The visual is always appear slightly later and vanishes slightly late, and it has absolutely nothing to do with when the ability triggers. All it does is define the area where it will damage you. You can be 1 pixel outside of the visual telegraph and take no damage, the issue isn't where you were, but WHEN.

If that's true, I find that to be a failing on the game's part personally, to give you a visual cue that's misleading.
But that aside, lag does affect the when. I look at the casting bar, I move away while the target cast still hasn't finished and my own cast still hasn't finished as well, yet my heal/nuke still goes off while I'm moving and the next thing to happen to me is the target's attack hits me, because the server thinks I was still in my old spot while I moved away on my end (I've had my Cure go off while I moved with the cast between half and 3/4 done during Titan, to give an example of the kind of delay I've had to deal with at times).
So many times I got hit by the Anole breath AoE for example while the casting bar still hadn't finished charging and I had moved out.

I don't know, is it better for people in Japan/America/Canada? The getting out of fire part of the game is what strongly makes me wish we had real EU servers.

how are people getting hacked? clicking a link from a gold farmer?

Or is there some exploit in game?

I remember way back when, RMT were able to get a script on FFXIAH.com which a ton of legit users used and were able to get a lot of passwords like that. So it could be something like that, or just easy passwords.

I'm going to have to stop visiting xiv sites on this computer.

SMN is fine IMO. I mean it lacks a certain amount of direct AOE damage but dropping your debuffs then Bane saves a lot of time and you can stack Tri-disaster after that. I may have to do a bit of testing tonight but as far as I can tell, CC applied after DOT debuffs won't get broken by damage ticks.

You have Fester as well for big burst damage, especially with Raging Strikes and crits. Pet damage is pretty solid too and they add a little bit of AOE. The two pet buffs have pretty solid modifiers as well.

Pets are can be handled pretty easily though they need to make macros work for them. Unless I got the command incorrect, I can't order them to attack targets i want in a macro, just with the pet bar.

You know, this may sound dumb, but the final dungeon kind of reminds me of
a Metal Gear Solid finale, with Ultima Weapon being the focus more so than any one villain. And then there is a still a humanoid fight at the end, as usual.

Sadly won't work for me. I set up my Square Enix account years ago, for reasons I cannot recall, and unfortunately I cannot recall the answer to my security question, which is neccesary for setting these things up.

Also, Square's methodology for correcting these situations, seems to be busted. They were supposed to contact me with instructions for resetting or changing my security question, but, so far there's been no contact.

Haha yes,
I got so many Metal Gear vibes from the first time I entered Castrum, the music especially. As a huge MGS fan I loved it. "Snake, you must infiltrate The Praetorium and destroy the empires ultimate weapon, METAL GEA---I MEAN ULTIMA WEAPON"

If the game imposed a minimum then the community would take it upon themselves to up that minimum.

Ive seen more than a few suggest that you must have full Darklight gear to do AK speed runs.

Im a tank and Ive yet to do AK because of the heavy elitism surrounding it.

So...is the Lord of Craigs as hard as it seems? My fucking healer keeps getting himself knocked off. Without fail. Each. Fucking. Fight.

It's not hard they just need position awareness. Don't stand in the red, and stand far enough away from the center so you don't take his landing damage right in the face. Basically just hug the red border.

Can you tell your fairy to heal a certain member of the party with the sic command? or will they just follow your lead?

I know. Pretty much everyone got it, except the healer. I mean, I understand that if you're in the middle of the heal, you'll want to try to get it off before moving. But after 10+ wipes, they should have figured out to just move immediately
