Super Smash Bros Wii U and 3DS Thread 2: Where Pilotwings is apparently Minecraft

I like the Pilotwings stage, looks really dynamic with flying through the island, the tilting plane, and having another plane fly in. Seems quite fun.

So what is going to be our main topic of they day?

Little Mac could be the new Pichu if they implement the heart system, and have him lose his offense after missing a couple hits, and only regaining his offense after successfully dodging some moves.

Waluigi doesn't have the most chances out of anyone for anything.

I know there's not much to his character, but I really like his visual design and how lanky he is. He was even a little creepy in Mario Tennis 64 when his eyes used to slowly glow as he scored.

The Pilotwings stage looks like it is absolutely begging to be viewed in motion.

Layout wise as a stage it looks like nothing terribly special (but not everything needs to be, sometimes less is more, especially with Smash Bros.), but I think the background is going to be among the most impressive Smash Bros. backgrounds ever.

Provided it's seamless, seeing Wuhu Island far in the distance and then closing that distance to the point that you're flying in between buildings looks to be a nice visual feast.

Waluigi's Time Machine

(a sequel to Mario's Time Machine with more greed and crotch chops)

Baby Paper Dr. Mario and CD-i Link comin' at ya!

Apparently Mac is 5'7" is PO Wii? (Is there a pic of this?)

If so he's a bit short but should be bigger than the AT, which could be based off his NES height.

I expect Little Mac to be a little taller than Luigi. The Mario Bros are kinda short, but I don't expect him to tiny like in Brawl unless they just rip his model from that game and work from that.

Little Mac hit puberty right before the release of PO!! Wii. He was 4'8" in the NES game. Mac is just a late bloomer.

Assuming that the game releases sometimes around Fall 2014, that'd be around 2 and a half years of dev time, right? Plus, the dev team seems to be larger this time around. I'm not too concerned.

Brawl took a looong time, and I don't really think that long development time was relative to its quality. It was just teeming with content, which is great, but as long as the main gameplay is good, all that extra stuff is just bells and whistles.

There will be another last minute Smash delay after Atari SA decides they do want Bubsy in Smash.

So, does anyone feel a reveal coming close by as the time goes on?

I used to be the tallest sibling because I'm the oldest... But now I'm the shortest :/ (but only slightly shorter)

Weird, isn't it?

Its happens, my cousin randomly burst to 6'2" and he turned 17 in May. But at least you have siblings! D:

Yep, Mii's need to populate the island. Skyloft has the same problem with the lack of wandering characters.

Absolutely. This is something I'm worried about. As much as I love having plain, but nostalgic, non-hazardous stages it would be nice to see something going on that'll make you remember and keep going back to it.

We really need some new information in this next month, preferably a newcomer or one or two returning characters. I'm mostly excited to see what some of the characters will look like with brighter, less grittier character designs for once, since the Mario characters especially have been made to look "textured" until now. It really is a breath of fresh air.
