Fire Emblem was a long running series which Roy was still a part of, there were two Earthbound/Mother games when SSB64 came out and there were two Kid Icarus games when Pit was in Brawl.
I'm not saying it's impossible or that I don't want him, just that it's without precedent. I had Bayonetta in my wishlist while using Bayo2's exclusivity as (somewhat flimsy admittedly) justification, for instance.

That's a really nice way of saying 'bombed horribly'. Wish the game got better reviews though, once you get used to the admittedly strange unite-morph input system it's like Pikmin fused with Bayonetta.

... Hence Wonder Red is not a 3rd party character? It's an issue that's been brought up dozens of times before and while Nintendo has zero-stake in Platinum itself, they bought the rights to 101 when it was pitched to them. It's not a Rare-scenario where despite being a console-exclusive the IP is owned by the studio, not Nintendo.

Peach looks good but too many Mario reveals come on. Not a good sign.
We basically have every Mario character from Brawl already (except Yoshi and Wario which still are considered from a different franchise).
This makes me hope a newcomer like Bowser Jr. and Paper Mario will show up.
Anyway she looks good, glad that Toad is still a move, but I hope her up special stays the umbrella.

In comparison the Smash site has to list Capcom and the various different company's with a stake in Pokemon because Nintendo doesn't wholly own them.

Being Nintendo owned doesn't make him any more likely to get in, in my opinion. He's not been marketed like a Nintendo character, don't see why they'd give him the ultimate Nintendo stamp of approval and stick him in SSB.

While 3DWorld isn't out for another few months, they probably just wanted the main four out and presented in Smash before that game came out before they really ramp up the advertising for what Nintendo probably sees as their biggest Wii U game this year. I similarly expect Zelda/Pokemon/DK reps and possibly even Sonic to show up before the years out for the same reason.
I have beaten the first thing in my youth and watched the 2nd thing.I stand by my point, they grunts mane.
They live, and some of em guard the castle, have assed might I add. Then again, princess peach may wish to guard her castle from habitual kidnappers (A fire breathing dragon turtle, his child, his associates, and a wizard, )with something better than tiny mushroom people. Also she's has shown bizarre feats of super strength , the ability to use magic, and the Mario's item absorption abilities. Why doesn't she ever just beat up bower when he gets there. I am rather convinced that the mario games we play are some very elaborate form of romance that mario and peach share that bowser is blissfully unaware of.

Also to be fair Mario's been long overdue for a proper newcomer. If you want to get technical in Brawl it went from 5 to 4 reps while Pokemon went from 4 to 6, depending on how you view Pokemon Trainer.

Then you should know why people consider Toad the fourth pillar of the group, Super Mario 3D World even brings this idea into the present day with a Blue Toad just like the original Super Mario Bros 2 (though that was due to palette reasons and t3DWorld is likely because Mario is already the Red One)
And technically Yoshi is just one of many. All the Pokémon are just one of many. Doesn't stop them being in this game.

I have know idea why, I don't hang on to that aspect of my childood that much. And please do not think this is toad specific, grunts of all kinds get that distinction. Storm troopers, serve bots, eggman robots,all of em.
And as far as pokemon goes, pokemon aren't gunts, and yoshi is a dragon and the star of his own game.
