I like the new visual touches. The ribbon helps show where her Up Smash hits horizontally. Neat.

I wonder... could this be a reference to the Olympic games? They do have a ribbon twirling thing there, after all.

There's boundaries, for sure. Mr. G&W for example, or even WFT. They still retain their look, but doesn't stray too far off the centre look they're going for. The opposite extreme would be All Stars. Just look at Kat next to Drake, or Kratos.

I think Nibel is talking about Mario characters looking different from what they look in their own Games. Not looking different from each other in Smash.

This. You can clearly see when she puts in back on after the attack ends, well her hand goes above her head anyway.

It won't be correct until they change her hair model, not only the dress.

I would like that if she hold the ribbon. It felt weird to see her not holding those ribbon.

I think that's not actually a ribbon, but more like a magical ribbon like when Zelda uses Farore's Wind and a yellow ribbon spins around her. Though if it is magical it needs more sparkles, more particle effects Sakurai please, they look so cool in Smash!

The Smash Bros. games do a great job of making all the characters fit in together. NSMB Peach would look terrible next to Twilight Princess Zelda, so the former has to look a bit more detailed.

Well she was weird in Melee, she looked not like Peach, she was ugly...like Daisy.

I'm saying, what if Mario, Link, Pikachu, all weren't characters taken from other games, but original characters created for this game, which would simply go towards a roster made of different characters to attract attention? Would it have the same success? Would it generate the same hype?

Yeah wedding/nurse peach and daisy peach look better in melee but I like her blue and green alts more in brawl. Brawls blue alt has Rosalina's crown

Kirby should have a ton of colors, like in Squeak Squad. It's not hard to do. I should know, I can make a Kirby re-color for Brawl in under 15 minutes using freeware software.

No it wouldn't have the same success, it would have been slower and not a priority for Nintendo to get it out asap. And no one would be hyped, the hype comes from "OMG is my favorite obscure character from a game released 20 years ago going to make it?" even though we know they are not gonna make it we still hope.

And I agree with alternate costumes, you can please (not really) more fans that way. Imagine Samus having her different suits, Light suit and Fusion would be awesome!

I really like the fact that the dress seems shorter (or maybe it's the render image) showing her shoes giving a more vibrant feel with the red color etc.

Also I know that if we're not getting costumes then at least TONS of new colors to choose with different combinations would be nice.

I don't think any FE game should have more than 1 representative character. The idea of having many FE:A characters in the roster (especially with Lucina replacing Marth) is just not fair to the other games at all. :/

There should be 3 (or 4? 3 is kind of enough tbh) FE characters with each one representing a different game. Seriously, FE:A does not need to be THE face of the franchise.

The faces are much more expressive in this game than they were in Brawl, which was a step up from Melee (which was a clear and obvious step up from 64, but that'd be hard not to do).

I like it. That was one niggling issue in Brawl's presentation that I felt they had not solved. This game seems to have them down.

A Chrom & Lucina tag character would solve a lot of problems at once:

1. Chrom by himself would be pretty boring since he's "just another swordsman." Sakurai's been saying that newcomers need to be unique.
2. Each new Smash Bros. introduces gimmick characters with unique gameplay mechanics.
3. Lucina is a popular character, but she doesn't warrant her own slot.

Of course, the biggest hurdle would be solving whatever technical difficulties might appear. The Diddy & Dixie team had to be cut from Brawl because the devs couldn't make it work.
