Funny, a few days ago I was asking myself how they would title their new album, considering all the other ones have quite weird (and awesome) names (Barely Legal, Veni Vedi Vicious, Your new favourite Band, Tyrannosaurus Hives).

I loved Barely Legal and VVV even more, but hated their new sound on Tyrannosaurus. I really hope their new record will sound like the old one (raw, fast garage rock).

Well...They're shooting for a groovier sound....and The Hives really aren't a groovy band at all. There are some totally trashy tracks here, some great tracks with poor parts, and some simply great stuff. It's a real mixed bag; The Black and White Album indeed. Their worst since their debut. Fuck off Pharrel. They recorded 30 tracks and this is what they got? Yeesh, 3 of these songs are practically extended interludes. Disappointment of the year for the most part. Tick Tick Boom and Square One Here I Come are the best tracks and they sound like something they'd put on their other albums. Ugh.

I'll see the Hives live at every opportunity, but their records don't really do it for me. Aside from a few songs. Totally a zillion billion times better live.

While I'm not that disappointed (I like quite a few songs), the bolded part is unfortunately true.
I can't believe they thought it would be a good idea to include the 2 Pharrel Williams-produced songs on the album!
But I never found myself listening to a whole Hives record in one go, so I'm used to skipping songs inbetween (the exception being "Your New Favourite Band", but that should be normal for a "best of" CD)

And, like White Man mentioned- the Hives are pretty much one of the most awesome live bands ^^

Are you listening to the same album that I am? A bunch of these songs are crap. This album needs at least 20 more killer guitar riffs. What the hell is up with "A Stroll Through Hive Manor Corridors", "T.H.E.H.I.V.E.S.", "Giddy Up!", and "Puppet On A String"? The first is a boring instrumental but the other three are just amazingly bad. The only truly great song on the album is Tick Tick Boom, everything I didn't list is just kinda mediocre. Tyrannosaurus Hives this is not.
