I wouldn't mind that. I would have a Persona game on my 3DS and also a reason to buy a Vita instead of a Wii U in the future. I still rather have P5 for the 3DS though.

Pretty sure it got announced a while ago that they were doing a proprietary engine 'for their next game'. I got confused and thought they were using it for Catherine, but that was Gamebryo.

Anyways, it probably won't use the P4 engine because that's really old at this point. And they made Catherine for HD consoles.

I'm also not certain the 3DS could even handle P4, so who knows on P5? If it's on PS3/360, there's no way in hell. If they get it at all, it'd probably be a P3P situation. Vita on the other hand..

But yah, Nintendo got SMT. The likelihood of it getting Persona is pretty damn low if it would affect the other platforms it would be on.

Atlus loves them some ports (at least for Persona), sometimes years after the fact. If you start on Vita OR 3DS, it'll be a hell of a time getting them up to consoles, right? This usually doesn't happen anyways (only exception I can think of is Ubisoft with Liberation HD)

For example: SMT IV? That shit isn't going anywhere. That's great for the 3DS...but hurts them, really.

However, consoles down to handhelds? That makes more sense.

So naturally it'll be a Kinect game

I asked if it was PS4 exclusive and they said "not exactly", then Kagari(I think) pretty much said it was going to be on current gen consoles. Verendus(a Sony insider) was teasing the game as well. PS3 at a minimum. Yoshida is also teasing on twitter.

There's also the newly added Sega factor.

While acquisitions rarely change things immediately, the kind of impact Sega could make if they wanted is doing things like "We'll grab another team to port this to various additional platforms." or "We'll add in a mobile tie-in game."

I'm not saying they're doing that, but that's something that now applies which wouldn't have a few months ago.

The safe bet given Atlus' statements and historic behavior would be PS3.

If Sega adds in anything else like Xbox or Vita or whatever would be more along the lines of thinking I would suggest than "not on PS3".

Of course, I guess it's not out of the question that someone could bribe Sega sufficiently. It wouldn't be my first guess, but it's possible.
