They never did a "TGS Direct", though. Not in 2011, because the very first Direct they ever did was in October (i.e. a month after TGS), and neither in 2012 - there was one a week before TGS, and one a week after TGS, but not during the TGS week. And this year, the Wii Fit U Direct was in the same week as TGS.
There's nothing that suggests a "pattern".

They are somehow treating the Direct as a "TV news" channel. They should create a schedule, imho.
I guess no one saw my secret request hidden in an email tag. It was Haruka (which should have been obvious). I didn't really want to mention it cos I promised qqmore I would not continue with that joke (as much).
Though I should point out all three requests were throw away ones. Though I suppose if one does come true I'd have to wear it to get my just deserts.

They seem uninformed when they just mentioned trimming the roster.
I know some of their videos show some interesting stuff one may not see at first, but this whole beginning section seems uninformed.
