New Nintendo Direct Tomorrow [WiiU/3DS, games releasing later this year]

I'd love if they lowered the pricing on the VC games. The NES ones should be €2, SNES €5, N64 €7. They need to release more as well.

Sunshine on the Wii U would be pretty good - changing FLUDD on the go, or even spraying water using the controller.

I could consider buying an Wii U in the future, if they release Mario Sunshine HD, as long as the Off-Tv Play feature is available for the game. Still, I'd rather get a 3DS version of the game.

So this is when I get all hopeful for a DQ announcement or 4 and get my hopes dashed tomorrow, right?

Yes you are correct. This is also the one where they also announce, F-Zero U, Wave Race U, Pokemon Snap U and Zombi U 2.

I can't wait for this direct. Those games are going to be awesome next year.

Hah, there's more chance of Zombie U being a multiplat than a sequel.

This makes me wish I were making 3d models in the N64 era. "We just need it to pass for a chicken."

Let's make it a Rune Factory 4 direct to spread the gospel of this game that suddenly has a release date of tomorrow.

Don't forget Senran Kagura too, they need to motivate consumers to check out the eShop.

What I expect and want from this Direct. Bolded are what I expect to see:

Trailers and final dates from here on to the holidays. DK, Mario, Zelda, WiiSports/Party/Fit and Mario Party
Mario Golf 3DS comes in January.
Bravely Default published by Nintendo in US and Europe.
:30 2DS ad we will be seeing soon on TV
Pokemon X/Y News, tiny unveiling of some part of the game that'll make Pokemon fans squeal.
VC for GB/GBA and N64 deets. 30th Anniversary type deal for 6 games once a month for a dollar each.
3rd party trailer that includes indies.
Update announcement:
id.nintendo.net is now where you can sign in and buy Wii U content from your PC or phone.
Digital books now something Nintendo is getting into. Hyrule Historia and Earthbound Players guide to be first two books to go on sale. Free for the first month. $9.99 afterward. Buy books via eshop or new browser-based eshop. Books based on Javascript, practically anyone can publish now. New eshop section for books and/or completely new eshop for books. MIiverse for 3DS delayed for Winter of 2013 "Please understand" "And thank you for being there til the end, which comes soon"

I wish Nintendo could work on a way for Netflix/Hulu/Amazon to work on the TV while being able to access whatever apps are shown when you press the home button. Also, Wii U Chat NEEDS to be one of those kinds of apps.

So chances are good there will be some suprises but as usally I have to keep my expections low because well it's Nintendo and you never know, so let's start with expecting a lineup overview with new trailers and gameplay.

Hyped anyway-

Yeah, why would anyone want new news on upcoming games from them???

What news is there that is going to change their competitive position? It's obvious that Directs aren't working to fix the Wii U situation, and the 3DS is already a monster and going to be a monster success.

I don't get what a Direct about software people already know about is going to do for them right now.

But Nintendo direct greatly helped Animal Crossing's performance.

Woohoo I'm approved for posting in time for the hype train!

I hope they tease some unannounced stuff. Everything they've already shown is on blackout for me until release.

My guess is there are zero surprises. They'll save those for next year.

Im just excited for more footage of the next games to be released! + update news!

Give me some new Mario info please!

Indeed.

As much as I would love a surprise Pokkén announcement to give the Wii U another killer app for this Christmas (and another game that I would love to play), I don't think we'll get anything like that before Q1 2014.

But hey, seeing more 3D World and ALBW is fine too~

I bet we might finally see the Pokemon Orotto in an English trailer for X/Y, since he's only been seen in Japanese and Korean footage.

Maybe we'll get lucky and they'll acknowledge him on the official site.

You think they'll announce the final stages of Chespin, Fennekin and Froakie?
No.

The Reviewers cannot mention them until release, so it seems unlikely they'd reveal them here, three days before the Review Embargo ends even.

The embargo is definitely about Assassin's Creed IV : Black Flag, there's a new round of preview videos online.

post-Direct GAF threads are getting seriously annoying though.

"After today's Nintendo Direct, don't you think Nintendo has become creatively bankrupt?"
"Nintendo really dropped the ball with today's Nintendo Direct!"
"Nintendo should drop its Nintendo Direct and make games on iOS".

Ok, only 21h22 to go :)

I've come to terms that Nintendo Directs are a kind of "check in" for owners of the console, like signing up for a mailing list after buying the console and filling out the little postcard. The games that Nintendo's already announced for the holidays, Wii Party U, Wii Fit U, SM3DW, Donkey Kong...those are what Nintendo will work with to fix the WiiU situation. 3DS has the 2DS, Pokemon, Zelda, a vast library of games already released, so it's taken care of. As for the WiiU's lineup, I say, God speed Nintendo. If the casual gamer does not bite, it's going to be tough.

For fuck's sake, I hope they spend some time focusing on Wii U third party games. I want to see Batman, Watch Dogs, and Assassin's Creed running on the Wii U in clips longer than 5 seconds. It would also be a good way to remind people that these games will be available for the Wii U.

I want more information about some titles I'm lukewarm on. Super Mario 3D World, Donkey Kong County Tropical Freeze, and A Link Between Worlds mainly.

But if you think about it, Nintendo probably realizes that a large majority of people are likely learning about those games via gaming publications and such, there's really no need to waste time talking about those games in detail when their are other avenues that provide a solid stream of info.

Would be cool if CoD ghosts supported 5 player but at this point in terms of third party games my standards are extremely low for the wii u

In terms of dreams that won't come true, I'd love a Mario Sunshine sequel on the 3ds or just a return to a clearly themed 3d Mario game instead of the abstract designs of galaxy and 3d land. I think there is fun to be had in just exploring large areas with well designed platforming that is integrated into a common theme.

Considering the position the wii u finds itself in ,you would assume this is going to be an epic Nintendo direct.
So close to the holidays and ps4/one launch you need to build some level of hype.
If it's business as usual aka boring as fuck we really need to start questioning what is going on at Nintendo.

This has got to be about only the games coming out before end of year for the holiday push, not an announcement of new games that we haven't already heard about.

if donkey kong doesn't show up in the direct :'(

i don't think there will be any smash related stuff since its says "games releasing this year" , bleh go home Nintendo, Sakurai can show a quick 1 minute fight with any 4 characters :P

You're probably going to be let down.
