I have come across a lot more Koopa Kid fans online since New Super Mario Bros. Wii.

I hate Cynthia because she has creepy fans, like, seriously.

There's this dude called "Queen Cynthia" on a Pokemon forum I visit that single-handedly made me hate her...at least with Misty it took like multiple weirdos...but this one dude snapped a picture of this random woman he saw on the street who reminded him of Cynthia and shared it with us telling us basically how she was his queen in real life and shit, was pretty creepy. At the very most the only similarity was the black coat deal. And pretty much every post had him trump up Cynthia with all these creepy epithets and swearing to her, it was pretty hilarious.

Holy shit man, that sounds awful.

I've come to hate them. We had so awesome bosses in NSMB DS. Then came along the Koopalings and snatched every single boss fight :/

The fact that we do not have an okami-esque game with him using it is a failure of game design.

Yes I've always said this, but it's probably due to popularity, people generally hate on sun shine and bowser jr. (Personally its my favorite of all 3d mario games)

I was thinking about the roster and how there are so many extensions to Mario, then it got me thinking about his status as a gaming icon, and I started thinking about Sonic's past.

Do you think the only reason Sonic survived was due to Sega making bad Sonic games, BUT creating them with a strong marketing strategy and very focused demographic study that would ensure that they still sold despite how shitty they were in overall quality? I guess a factor is that Sega just couldn't afford to let him die. It's really all they have.

Does anyone think Mario would be able to survive a situation like that?

Nostalgia and haters are always the loudest groups on the Internet never forget. Bowser jr may or may not be incredibly popular, he he's become a very iconic Mario character in the past 10 years being a villain in pretty much ever Mario game since his creation

Then she showed up in HG/SS

Then she showed up in B/W

Then she showed up in B2/W2

I think it's cool to bring back old characters, but come Cynthia has appeared in 9 games (DPPtHGSSBWB2W2) I think that's more then any other NPC in the franchise. She literally hasn't missed a game since her introduction. That's why people are sick of her/don't like her

She's more like a guest in those appearances post DPPt that you can miss her out if you don't look hard. It's not like she's mandatory encounter.

I'm still holding out hope for Jigglypuff to be the Pokemon revealed! my evidence is the fact that Luigi was revealed early which together with Jigglypuff are the only 2 characters who have been unlockable in every game and the fact Toon Link was also revealed which among him, Wolf and Jigglypuff were the chracters unlocked last in the Subspace Emissary and did not have a role in the story.
Also the fact that she's a fairy type now which is the new type introduced in X/Y.

Ok, so I was reading about the smash series on the smash wiki, and noticed that Yoshi is the only veteran starting fighter that wasn't shown off at the e3 reveal. Is that weird, or has that been a trend since the first one? Also, is he no longer a veteran since he wasn't shown off at the reveal?

Dont get what your saying, there are several vets who werent shown at the E3 reveal.

Yep. Time-line comparison wise, we're still months before the time Brawl got the Dojo.

Not that there's any pattern or anything, but wow I kind of realized we waited a year and some months for Yoshi to appear on the Dojo site after Brawl's reveal.

Hmmm. I feel the exact opposite. I didn't really dig the boss fights in New Super Mario Bros. besides the Bowser battles and the Monty tank. Giant versions of henchman seem really lazy to me, and they didn't really utilize any interesting gameplay mechanics. So, even though New Super Mario Bros. Wii has less visual variety when it comes to the boss fights, the Koopaling battles bring more to the gameplay table. And I like the Koopa Kid designs a lot more than giant Goombas anyway.

I agree that Bowser Jr. is now an important piece of Mario history, but so are the Koopalings. A lot of the squabbling between the two sides seems to be over character design, and those issues will never be settled.

Mini Bowser just doesn't do it for me. *sticks out tongue*

Yes, Cynthia from Pokemon. She was fine when she first debuted, but I'm sort of done with her being around so much.

Bowser Jr. I'm totally indifferent towards, but Cynthia hate is BS just because she appears everywhere.

She isn't Lightning levels bad.

And my dislike for her is accordingly less than my dislike for Lightning. But you don't see Stephen Stone popping up everywhere, do you? No, cuz Steve's a cool guy who has better things to do than cosplay Metagross in every game.

I feel like you guys are seriously playing up what I've said here. Like this isn't some Gen 1 nostalgia where I'm tearing her apart and crying salty tears of hatred as I accuse her of being the whore of the Pokemon company or something. I just don't like her, especially compared to other champions like Lance and Stephen. I mean I guess I'm indifferent to Alder, but whatever.

Bowser Jr. on the other hand, I'll gladly tell you is an awful stain I wish would go away. Bowser Jr. I would say is Lightning bad. And I liked Sunshine. More than I'll ever like 64.

But Cynthia? Man, whatever. I just wish they'd lay off her a bit. Only have her pop up with the other Champs.

Yeah, new assets would have to be created for this to work. Yarn Yoshi's artstyle lends itself well to almost any platform, while Yoshi's New Island would benefit from some more hardware power. It isn't going to happen, but I would have loved to see a Yoshi game on the Wii U that was a little more taxing on the hardware.
