So my 3DS XL hinge broke today. Like completely separated from the system. Not sure if I pay the $100 for repair or buy a new system. My main concern is that I have literally hundreds of dollars in eShop purchases and obviously don't want to lose them. That makes me afraid of sending it off to Nintendo.

I would like to know the answer to it. I know the answer but I would like to get clarification on this situation again.
I guess Sakurai is trying to make a space between characters, and Sakurai can't help it with Sonic because of Nintendo Direct.
It's possible that they haven't developed the models for remaining characters or the communication between Namco-Bandai/Sora LTD and Pokemon Company went sour.
Other thing to add, maybe we are getting playable character/pokemon from X/Y?

It's not that it's humanoid. It's that (along with most new pokemon) the designs don't have texture, biological correspondence. Non biological elements are okay too, I suppose, like the robotic pokemon, but that's still a theme. New pokemon designs are just shapes and colors texturelessly placed about.
It's the 3DS version with the outlines around the models.
I don't think there was much complaints about the lack of character reveals.
And I don't think Mewtwo is going to get revealed until wayyyy later if he's in the game.

It's a chestnut.
The red outline, the white color, the bands, the green spikes... it's all based on a ripe, opened chestnut.
If you want shapes and colors aimlessly placed about, Gen 1 has examples of those too. Jynx, Mr. Mime, Hitmonchan and Hitmonlee are a stretch as well.

Send it in, hell if you got it less than a year ago you should still be in warranty, also see about registering the serial number on Club Nintendo, you might get an extra warranty period (3 months IIRC?).

I'm not sure where trust enters the picture. They'll either fix the hinge or transfer all your saves and data to a non-broken 3DSXL for $100. Nothing to distrust there.
The only question is whether you think that's worth $100.
Seems likely for newcomers.

I know some don't want Jiggly Puff in, but the game just wouldn't be the same without it. I have laughed so many times at the noises Jiggly makes, hopefully she'll be kept!

We'll see some more characters before E3 2014. No guarantees they'll be new ones, but at the rate we've been seeing veterans dropped upon us, it just seems unlikely Sakurai'd suddenly just stop.

Nintendo doesn't have that much control over the Pokémon series. Although it is a Nintendo IP, The Pokémon Company has more autonomy on how they want the series marketed. Nintendo doesn't get to do whatever they want with the series.

Yes its incredibly weird, I'm gonna tell you this before sakurai does, captain falcon is confirmed.
Falcon is a mainstay. Most of his popularity is from Smash. And F-Zero deserves a rep even though Nintendo's forgotten about it lately.
Don't worry, Captain Falcon will be there for sure. He's the sole representation of an entire series and he's an original from Smash 64. He will be in for sure, no matter how many recent games he has under his belt. Also, F-Zero was in Nintendo Land.
Only veteran that I care about that kinda worries me is Ike. I hope he's in, because I like his playstyle and prefer it over Marth's.

I feel like they could go a while without showing more characters. We got a nice amount in a short time span and one of them was Sonic. I mention him specifically because he seemed to be one of the most heavily requested to return. We were getting spoiled. I don't think we should be surprised if a character is announced around the time they have a game releasing, but I don't think we should expect it either. Having said that I hope to see Zelda or Ganondorf around the release of ALBW. Lol.

Man, it's not just cause of the playstyle. With the hypothetical roster lists, I saw a lot of people cutting Ike for Chrom, assuming Chrom could just inherit Ike's playstyle. Putting aside their fighting styles, they're medium height blue swordsmen in capes, the blue haired swordsmen in capes models are close enough. But I don't even like Chrom (that much). I like Ike!
Heck, I bet people who played Awakening don't even like Chrom, they just assume he's in because he's the newest FE Lord. Everyone would rather have Lucina or Anna or Tharja or Robin or someone not-Chrom.

It does seem rather odd that we didn't get a character reveal for what was easily Nintendo's biggest release of the year, when The Wind Waker HD brought us the Toon Link reveal of all things. I guess it could be because we just got like three three weeks in a row, but that begs the question as to why Sakurai felt compelled to reveal Peach when he did, when SM3DW would have been the perfect time to do so and she doesn't seem completely finished.
Oh well.

Nope, but people misuse his quote. The general idea is what the game is pushing, not simply "movies", otherwise it'd be a fallacy since Darkrai or Manaphy should've been playable.
Lucario is
glorified a lot in XY, like having a subplot about being the first Pokemon to Mega Evolve, having a special event that ends up with you getting a Lucario for free with a Lucarionite
Not saying Mewtwo won't return, but to say that Lucario isn't "being featured prominently in the new gen" is ignorant.
