UK GAF: PS Vita, KZ: Mercs, VT4 and 8gb Mem card - £139.99

Fuuuuu......

I'm supposed to be holding out for the Vita TV but this is a bargain.... hnnng.

I've already got the PS4 on pre-order - my wife will not be best pleased if I blow another £140....

All in stock at my local Argos too...

Oh hell, I've reserved it.

If I survive breaking the news to my wife, I'll pick it up tomorrow!

good price but it still misses ... you know ... EXCLUSIVE games. i don't wanna Persona4 (got PS2 version), if i wanted Dragons Crown, there is still the PS3 version and Killzone? There is a nextgen version coming up and looks ten times better.

It really is a great deal, but i still can't convince myself that i need a vita. What other games are on the system that I should look into? Let's push me over this cliff.

Wipeout 2048, Uncharted, New Little King's Story, Mutant Blobs Attack, Unit 13, Gravity Rush, Stealth Inc, Thomas Was Alone, Guacamelee, Sine Mora, Lone Survivor, Velocity Ultra, GoW: Ghosts of Sparta (technically a PSP title, but looks fantastic on the Vita)

So £40 more WITH 2 games AND an 8GB card PLUS £10 Argos voucher is worse than £100 for the system "ideally" with a game??

Also other offers there..

PS Vita Wifi + 3G + 8gb memory card with 10 games pack and Playstation 365 day Plus card £169.98 @ Argos (plus £10 Argos voucher for £100 spend)

£170

2 games I don't want go figure. Also when a system is selling shit the consumer doesn't care what the other offers are (because those other offers are selling shit).

Sell her on the off-tv aspect?

"Ah, hun. I'm sick of monopolising the TV so I figured this means I can play my games but we can still snuggle up whilst you watch your favourite programmes".

If that fails, throw yourself on the floor and wail in anguish. This is a Vita at stake, no time for dignity.

If I hadn't just had to buy a replacement plasma tv I would be all over this shit. Sadly I can now barely afford my PS4 next month so no way I can take advantage of this :(

1) Do they ship out of UK?

2) What's the typical size of retail games? (regarding mem card)

Bought a Vita from Tesco the other day, paid £116 after some vouchers I had, decided it was too good to pass on. Really enjoying it so far, been playing Gravity Rush mostly and I've installed a few games onto the 8GB card, for now it's more than enough for me, I don't really have a problem juggling games around especially if I can fit 3-5 games on it at a time. Right now i've got Limbo, Unit 13, Sine Mora, Gravity Rush and Uncharted installed and could probably fit another smaller game on there too (or more for the indie games).

Rarely have I seen such nakedly obvious stream-of-posts-listing-exclusive games bait. Don't make us do it, I beg you.

I'm trying to convince myself right now because I know they'll be a library (even if it's just a few games I really want to play) eventually but there's literally nothing I'm interested in right now. I'd play Persona 4 after I finish 3 (so in a long, long time) and I have some digital PSP games that would look pretty on this.

It's not even a money thing. I just don't like having shit I'm not gonna use.

I'm going for this I think - stoopid question, but will Garvity Rush fit on this memory card? Really want to play that game.

Very few games go over 4gb.

Ones I remember:
Killzone Mercenary (a bit more than 3gb + 1gb patch)
Phantasy Star Online (3.5gB + patches)
Sengoku Musou 2 HD with Mushouden (5gb)

Sengoku Musou is not yet released.

Edit:

Don't buy it then. This is... you know... for those people who want a Vita and would benefit from the deal.

21 quid trade or 17 cash for KZ alone will bring you nearer to the £100 price though. Then there's the 8gb card, another game and £10 voucher?

Again game I don't want and I don't want to go through the issue of trading games to stay under that 100 minimum. The Vita's not going anywhere not at the price it's selling at, so it's more of a case of seeing where it's bottoming out at rather I must get this device at $100.

I don't tend to rush my purchases especially not one whose price is more likely to fall down than up.

I am getting PS4 and XB1 free now through work so I played up that aspect and giving her the £10 voucher and 3 months interest free on my Argos Card sealed the deal.

Now I could be temped by this and then get a PS4 to go along with it and not look back until next year when I want my XB1.

You buying one?!

Ah, check you out. I'll prepare your welcome letter and fruit basket, I hope you dig it :)

The site-that-must-not-be-named has jumped on the bombawagon now too.

I think their best was 3G Vita + 8GB card + FIFA + 30 Days Plus + That 10-game download pack for £145

I would Never, NEVER allow my wife loose with a credit card!

Maybe I should try her tactics:

1: 'This? oh I picked it up from Sainsbury's it was only a tenner'
2: 'Darling, I've just saved £60 on this great offer' - neglecting to mention what it actually cost.
3: 'Oh I've had that for ages, I just didn't tell you when I bought it'

Not bad. Still needs more though, FIFA is great and all, but replace it Mercs and bump up Plus to 90 days and it goes from not bad to fantastic.

I've been off the scene for a while, what's the simple state of play for installing CFW on Vita, in particular this model Argos have (and no, not for piracy reasons) - doable?

It was always a case of when rather than if for me. I'll just juggle games. So many games.

It's more tolerable than you might think. I bought an 8GB at launch and didn't upgrade it for about a year, despite owning most of the library. I only cracked in the end because Amazon had a wacky deal on the 32GB. Obviously juggling ain't ideal, but you'll get by.

No, sha'n't.
You'll do as you're told. You can skip the Banderas gif if you like, the rest is mandatory.

Agree eleventy hundred percent.

Paid this much not a month ago for a 3G and 8gig/10 games bundle and was still happy with that.

Obviously less happy I could have had more had I waited, but thems the breaks :)
I paid £130 only a few days ago to Tesco for the same deal.

Plus has kept me busy. Downloaded Ninja Gaiden and Metal Gear HD. Enjoying those but somehow believe the power of the Vita isn't being shown.

Thanks for this, just drove down to Argos and grabbed one.

Wife wanted a Vita for Christmas and this deal just saved us £60.

Buy it.

Buy Dragon's Crown.

Buy WipEout 2048.

Post a gif of Antonio Banderas that reflects your feelings upon stumbling into a gaming nirvana.

i just picked this deal up from my local argos, it has a nice sticker on "top up £5 with Vodafone and get Wipeout 2048 free" ;) :D

This is fucking insane. I was fortunate to get 10% off mine at launch (also with 2 games and same size card). But that was still around £250 and it was a Wifi model. But this. This is madness.

They must be clearing the stock for the 2000. (and Christmas and poor sales of course).

Unlikely that it is still on offer, check the expiration of that offer. It was the original offer when the 3G came out. Bargain if it still works though.

Hi F0ggy

The offer for WipEout 2048 states that you need top up by a minimum of £5 online between the 22nd February 2012 and the 21st March 2013, as you activated the SIM 11th April 2013 you would not be entitled to the free game.

Thanks

Sukhi

Do we open the vita to test for faults and check it's working or put this beautiful little bastard away until Xmas and assume all is good?

Fuck it, at that price I can't resist, reserved. Anyone recommend a good case? Gotta protect the bugger while on the move.
