Oh snap indeed!

I know no one has any reason to trust me, but I've been sitting on this for a month and have really wanted to post it.

A trusted source told me that IW was "having lots of problems with the xbox one port". I didn't press for any details but I did hear there were also XDK problems like the update that caused a 20% performance loss.

I've also previously heard from the source that "the way IW is run, it's a miracle anything gets done."

Make of that what you will.

You're supposed to get mod verified before saying stuff like that.

720p? For real? Maybe that guy who said they were running at 15fps when they initially got the engine up and running was for real...

for reference
This is anecdotal from E3, but...

I've heard the architecture with the ESRAM is actually a major hurdle in development because you need to manually fill and flush it.

So unless MS's APIs have improved to the point that this is essentially automatic, the bandwidth and hardware speed are probably irrelevant.

For reference, the story going around E3 went something like this:

"ATVI was doing the CoD: Ghosts port to nextgen. It took three weeks for PS4 and came out at 90 FPS unoptimized, and four months on Xbone and came out at 15 FPS."

Sound believable to me... I am with you.

Actually we did already hear about that 20% performance loss due to an update. Dunno if that was ever righted or not.

PM a mod soonest. Save your mortal soul.

On x box game cases do they put the resolution on the back with the rest of the info. Reason I ask is because of the video of the dude unboxing the collectors edition box didn't mention it.

This is a nice way to hype a game that people were seemingly compelled to downplay at every turn only days ago. Just introduce some console wars, and let the train drive itself from there. :)

Xbox will upscale the image to 1080p no matter what the resolution.

Can someone ask Infinity Ward before this gets out of hand- and game journalists are quoting GAF?

Maybe it already is out of hand :/

Yeah...poor little unknown Call of Duty.

It still looks like garbage.

It doesn't matter. They never show the rendering resolution, just that it can output in 1080p (or whatever) due to the scaler.

They'll put the resolution on the box that the console outputs at, not the resolution the game is rendering at.

They could be running the game at 720p with anti-aliasing and then the box is up-scaling the image to 1080p for the monitor.
