Okay, I'll accept that Activision could just be lying, although legally I think that's dangerous, but I just can't believe it's 720p on XBO.
Just raw performance should be enough to get 1080p surely.

I thought this was still using a forward renderer, like Forza 5. Was that wrong? Is this using deferred lighting now? If it is, and if it is indeed sub 1080p on Xbone, then that CBOAT rumour with regards to 1080p 60 being out of reach with deferred rendering would gain more credibility.

Really doesn't matter does it? Your typical COD player isn't going to grab the box and look for resolution. He's going to grab the one his friends get.
Seriously there's a lot of people goosestepping over Xbox One in this negative rumour mill swirling in this topic and while I appreciate the gesture (the sharing inside info, not the dancing over corpse part) without the details of it all it does is feed a vacuum that is already pretty damned negative about the platform. I believe the XBO deserves the skepticism after everything, but I don't think it deserves any extra shit that it doesn't need to take. So I wish people like Proelite would be more specific when they say things like that.

I know, but I never was one to point the finger at the PS3 when it received poor ports. To be honest, with Ghosts I was really only expecting the differences to be something like textures and lighting. No way did I think that there'd be a resolution difference for that game.

There could be a ton of bugs in the OS and in the multi-player framework that causes a really bad user experience all around. They have one month remaining so we'll see.

I would be utterly shocked if CoD is 720p/60FPS on Xone and 1080P/60FPS on PS4. No way Microsoft would let that happen, right? CoD is one of those games that simply fly off the shelf, this would be a huge blow to Microsoft if true. I'm rather skeptical to say the least.
I gotta agree here. It only fuels a lot of skepticism and hurts the communities image.

Would it though? As I said, how many of your typical CoD players look at resolution when buying games?
Also wouldn't most of the blame be placed on IW if other games are running in higher than 720p resolutions on the One?

Microsoft will not be paying developers to gimp PS4 versions of games. It can only back fire. There are no legitimate rumours supporting it. It's all just people *afraid* of it happening going 'but what if they did!'.
They would be much better served spending money on exclusive content say, rather than paying a developer to put extra work in to make the PS4 version run with parity with the Xbone version.
So that's what they'll do. It is literally more work to make the PS4 version run the same as the Xbone version than it is for a developer to make the PS4 version look better in the case where the Xbone version isn't a locked 60 fps at 1080p.
And not many Xbone games are going to be locked 60 fps at 1080p, if we put weight on the rumours anyway. Forward rendered stuff like Forza 5, yep yep. But frostbite engine games aren't forward rendered. UE4 engine games aren't forward rendered. Watchdogs isn't forward rendered. etc. etc. etc.
