so I cboat confirming we should cancel xbone orders, they have messed up that badly?

looks like pc and wiiu for me for now then,

my son will be gutted though as he was looking forward to the xb1 for xmas but if cboat says it's going to be a disaster and not to buy it.. well we'd be mad to given he's asking us not to buy his own product. can't have a bigger warning than that.

I think you're looking for some hardware disaster along the lines of RROD, but I think the hints about unpublicized issues have to do with the state of the development environment, OS/software etc. (AFAIK).

There is a lot of information about the hardware choices that were made in the design of the Xbox, so with statements like 'execs interfered with hardware choices' - well I think the information on the end result of that is pretty public, not something we can expect a new megaton on. At least that's my take.
 
What if the reason we have to wait until launch is because the DRM hasn't been removed and MS just said it was to secure pre-orders?

The OG Xbox and Xbox 360 are some of my favorite consoles, with Microsoft's current handling and decisions I have no faith in their future as a console manufacturer.

Xbox 360 launch was rushed out the door in terms of hardware reliability. This time around it seems that it's the software side that is failing, which is a surprise as that was always a perceived strength of Microsoft.

he's not keen on the games for it and dislikes KZ. he did enjoy lbp and last of us but is much more keen on the xb.

I think i'll have to advise him to stay pc for now and think of something else.

if the boat says to avoid it then i'm cancelling for sure.
 
The thread is moving way too fast for me to catch up. Im up to page 13, but the thread has delivered so much already. It goes down well with a few cold ones really nicely.
 
Look, if there is something majorly wrong with this console, I think the forum should be told about it. The forum made a huge uproar in the name of consumers with the PS4DRM thing. Hiding information, if you know it, about potential problems with the XBO hardware launch is not doing potential buyers on this forum any good. =/
 
We need an apology from Albert ! because I thought MS won't let Sony have 50% in power!

Well surprise everybody, seems like PS4 has 250% more pixels rendering at the same time, I also won't be surprised if PS4 version has better textures and more effects!

Holy shit... That would be the most fucked up.

And games cannot be reviewed because the authentication servers aren't up!
 
Okay I don't get it. So the later embargo for Xbone is due to 720p, but why? Is it simply to hold back the floodgates for a little bit longer; keep the info under wraps?
