Yeah, I can see where your coming from even though I don't agree with it, so lets just leave it at that.
I actually don't expect to get any new Mario characters in this game anyway.
I also think Toad is pretty uninspired. He's boring and has zero personality. I can see why people would want him in for the sake of historical importance in the series, but he wouldn't be my first pick if another Mario character were to get in.
Anyways, looks like ya'll are closing up on this argument and I'll leave it at that.

If Mario gets another character at this point it has to be Bowser Jr no one else makes sense
I would have agreed for Brawl, but right now I feel like the time for that character's spotlight has passed as Sunshine gets older and older. He just doesn't seem to be as relevant now as he was back then.

Sorry guys that my activity has been going down lately, I see talk of smash 64 and character reveals for net month's direct, I can see either zelda or a new zelda newcomer being announced during that time, super mario 3D world is up in the air, I think they have all the mario characters they want to add, and I dont know if they will reveal yoshi for 3D mario world.

I agree that he hasn't disappeared completely, but his role in the games seems to be getting smaller and smaller given that now he isn't the main Bowser kid/2nd in command anymore, rather he has to share the spotlight with the Koopalings, Boom Boom, Kamek, etc. (not that I expect any of them to get a spot in Smash over him, except maybe Kamek)

I do not see that personality, they are either background charcters in RPG's or fodder.
Actually a lot of them do have personalities. Except mario, and toad. And Yoshi when he isn't in his own game.

Toad (or should I say Toads) had a pretty fun personality in Luigi's Mansion 2 when they appeared.
Its not so much that he isn't part of the series anymore or doesn't play a role in the games, its just that I feel that he is getting overshadowed by the recent revival of a lot of Bowser "kids" that get used interchangeably. He still appears yes, but his importance is getting lessened due to the presence of other Bowser henchmen.

I think Peach and Toad might be pretty close to each other in that regard. Usually when Peach was playable, so was Toad.
I know Toad has Wario's Woods and NSMBWii on his record, while Peach has Super Princess Peach and the Paper Mario games, which probably give her the edge over him.

I wonder what they're gonna do when 3D World is released on November 21 in Japan. I thought they would reveal Zelda that day but ALBW's release is on December 26 over there, so they probably gonna do something when Mario comes out too. All the Mario characters are already confirmed, and they never show newcomers.

I would also guess Bowser Jr., or Paper Mario (but that may as well be its own series). Bowser Jr. isn't the most exciting newcomer but he would have some potential with the paintbrush and mini koopa clown car. Overall though, I don't think Mario really needs a newcomer.
Toad just seems generic, personality and moveset-wise.

Nintendo is really keen rolling out Charles "Voice of Mario" Martinet all the time but I really want to see the voice of Toad perform. It's just too crazy.

After brawl session with friends, all I can say that I sincerely HOPE that we would have way better netcode for Super Smash Bros Wii U and 3DS.
Even if Namco is co-developing the game, at the end of the day everything seems to be Sakurai's call so whether or not we get a good online mode this time around probably depends on his decisions.

Yep, I know. I have a bad feeling that Sakurai would't let Namco-Bandai to helping them out with it. Just knowing Nintendo and Sakurai, they would rather us to give up with terrible online mode and playing with friends in person because it meant to be!

After KI:U's amazing netcode, I don't think you have to worry.
Brawl really is the exception rather than the norm when it comes to online Nintendo games.

Still never had a serious problem with Brawl Wi-Fi aside from the taunt party morons populating With Anyone mode.

To be fair - Kid Icarus Uprising's online was very good. Pokemon's online is very good. Mario Kart 7's online is very good. Hell, Pokemon even differentiates between ranked and unranked matches. People always like to claim Nintendo doesn't understand online, but I feel that's really not true anymore.

Actually, you're mistaken. Nintendo is somewhat decent with online on handhelds, they just suck with it on consoles for some reason which is kind of odd.

Well, if you are talking about Mario Striker and Mario Kart, it's way easier to pinpoint the characters and balls, but Brawl on other hand is more complication. However Brawl isn't not that heavy as most of fighting games so they don't have excuses this time.
Brawl's Random lags are pretty bad but today I played with few friends and they are not from same country as I live in so of course, you would see lags. When it come to 1 vs 1, it's way better.
They will come back but Sakurai don't approve taunt parties so I guess he might have something in his mind to counter that.

She got it right. I'm pretty sure that they did that because console is a category that they strongly believe that they should play with friends at home rather than playing online with friends. Awhile you have handheld where you can't really share it with other people, hence online and wifi.

Question because I never played online in it.
It really irritates me how little online there is on the Wii U for first party games right now, especially since they did the right thing and replace FCs with NNIDs... After a year, and there's still no online multiplayer first party Wii U game... unless that Wii Sports HD remake is coming very soon?

Online itself was good, so it's one of the few exceptions. Although I've heard hackers pretty much took over the game, which is a shame.

It's awesome. It's easy to pinpoint the characters and karts/cycles, so it's pretty much simple. Problem is that it still have lags rarely. Sometime, I would got first place but few players would have lag spikes(mostly japanese) so when we went to leaderboard and I noticed that I'm second because they are programmed to collecting all of finished time and put it in order of winning.
