No use for it with Power Items + Horde Training.

I don't know if it's a consensus, but I find horde battling really fast as long as you have power items.
Man, that's a bummer. Not looking forward to farming BP for the power items.. but oh well.

I'm half considering just waiting for Bank when I'll get all my trained Pokemon, so I could use them for the BP, but I'll probably break and ST something.

It's original coloring works better for the "Regitreegas" joke.

I STILL PREFER IT AND I WILL YELL THIS LOUDLY EVERY TIME THE SUBJECT COMES UP

Carrot top?
Bah, way to go and ruin it. :P

I prefer to see Shiny Treverant as a spooky ghost tree with autumn colors. :)

Ooo, that's a good idea. Treverant with Harvest, Lum Berry and Rest -- effectively a Full Restore with a chance for your instant wake-up mechanism to return each turn, IIRC.

I haven't checked his speed but I imagine he's slow as hell. That's my main concern with him. If you save him for mid-game after you've paralyzed your enemies or Sticky Webbed them, or perhaps passed a Speed Boost onto Treverant or set upTrick Room, you can get the jump (although if the enemy is paralyzed, Will-O-Wisp is null and void).

It really doesn't take too long. Try and get 3 of them one day and the last three on another.

And when you're done farming BP, you won't have to revisit it unless you want Life Orb/Choice Items/Etc. Even then, you'll do better in the Battle Maison with your EV trained mons.

You are a mad man!

oh so now we're playing Hipster Battles instead?

Can you two just get along?

Don't be hating on my post game... um...

Does anyone have a synonym for location/area that rhymes with "hating"?

Lol, you can still use Super Training. It's not awfully slow. I'm slow at this but it took me ~2 hours to minigame someone to full, as opposed to ~30-50 minutes of Horde training. I just don't really enjoy Super Training.

I got this as my first random shiny.

Ha, that's rich, coming from you, the guy who criticizes everyone but never proposes anything to be critiqued himself. ;)

No, not hipster, just saying what honestly impresses me. Like check out Pixel's use of Damp Rock Swanna with Tailwind, Defog and Rain Dance, or Focus Sash/Shell Smash Barbaracle with Cross Chop. Pokémon that raise red flags with their typing or numbers but were brilliantly used here, even if in the end Pixel lost due to Shofu's miraculous comeback.

Fact is, just about anything can work, if played correctly. Each turn is a gamble to some degree, and even the best-stacked odds can crumple against an unexpected maneuver.

Hey man, you were the one who bred Carbinks right? Do you have any spares I could use for breeding?

my you're jumpy today

It's that god damn cheating thread that Joe put up. I like that he addressed the issues I had, and I agree with all of his points, but some of the responses in there just soured my mood for the day.
That and I didn't know a teacher wanted a calculus assignment today as opposed to tomorrow (next class) when he really didn't tell me otherwise.

Can someone help me out with a decent team line up? I'm struggling to work out a good balanced team. At the minute both current and hopeful picks:

Current: Alakazam ; Timid (Not EV'd)
Twisted Spoon

-Dazzling Gleam
-Recover
-Calm Mind
-Psychic

Current: Lucario ; Hasty (Not EV'd)
Black Belt

-Close Combat
-Swords Dance
-Aura Sphere
-Bone Rush

Current: Charizard ; Hasty (252 Sp.A/Speed)
Mega Charizardite Y

-Flamethrower
-Fly
-Fire Blast
-Shadow Claw

Current: Greninja ; Timid [Protean] (Not EV'd)
No item

-Hydro Pump
-Lick
-Extrasensory
-Smack Down

Considered: Joltik Timid (Not EV'd)
No item

-Only just got it, hoping to evolve into Garvantula and learn Sticky Web etc

SIXTH SLOT [EMPTY]

Which of the Pokemon I have currently are worth keeping in my team and EV training? I don't want to spend the time doing it till I know they need it. Anyone I should swap out? Lucario doesn't feel very adaptable, Charizard might have better alternatives? Who should I fill my sixth with? Whenever I have an online battle I always feel like I am at a disadvantage, like I'm not covering enough possible types. Help would be really appreciated!

oh mah gawd I got like 7 boxes worth of Pokes to Wonder Trade.

Gible
Klefki
Noibat
Gastly
Honedge
Ralts

LAWD this is going to take forever. I have 22 boxes all filled up too. There's no reason GF's cloud bank is taking so long to launch ;_;

Nub has dibs on my breeding Sturdy Carbink when I'm next able to trade this Wed. (Posting while working on projects.) It will need to breed with a Ditto that can fill in its Sp. Def IV.

Maybe he can create spares, or I'll pass the mother onto you after. :)

Rest with the Lum Berry is pretty legit, especially if you have Harvest to get another berry.

It doesn't sound good with my current team build, though. rest seems like a wasted move slot with so many other health restoring options that also damage at the same time. Plus I really want will-o-wisp and destiny bond.

Probably working on testing the servers with load bearing issues as well as some of their anti-hack algorithms.

Alright, whatever works! I might be able to find one before then, if someone has them in their safari

On the positive side, you'll have plenty of poke miles for rare candies.

On a bit of a tangent, if you do online battles and you aren't using Team Flare Boss/Lysander's Battle Theme (Music 7) or Diantha's Theme (Music 11), but moreso the former, you're a bad person.

XL

Having to use the Circle Pad + L and the other hand with the stylus destroys my left hand :/ Such an awkward hand position

Well that explains it. You were using the infe... I mean heavier system.
why is friend safari not a streetpass feature?
Because then people would complain (possibly myself included) that they don't live near anybody and GF is terrible.
The actual streetpass feature is mediocre and I have no idea how to actually use it.

There's nothing impressive about people who just roll with the most tried-and-true Pokémon, so I have nothing but respect and admiration for anyone rocking a Treverant. It's such a cool concept and awesome-looking Pokémon, and it looks like it has potential. It just needs to be supported correctly and played the right way. :)

I've always been an advocate of just playing the way I want. Trevenant is cool, and running it on a Drought team will be risky, but really fun and cool. : )

Ok right now Im training 3 pokemon for speed. If I KO a wingull horde I'll receive 10 EVs from the due to pokerus and 4 more due to the speed power weight yes?

So after 1 horde encounter my 3 pokemon should receive 14 EVs each?

No. You'll get 50

A Wingull gives 1 EV. The Power item gives you 4 more EV's per KO, making the Wingulls give 5 EVs each. If the pokemon has pokerus the wingulls will give 10 EVs per KO.

You need to give all of the pokemon you're training pokerus, by the way.

I prefer the grunt theme personally...and why the heck can't we go past theme 4 in the battle maison GF?

I think that's great. Just play what you want. Some Pokémon are practically "win buttons" and anyone can win with them, but to bank on a Pokémon few believe in and stick with them is wonderful.

Treverant is a Pokémon of curious potential. He seems vulnerable in many ways, but perhaps there's an effective way to implement him into a larger team. :)

I really want that Shiny Treverant. That's seriously one of the coolest shinies, alongside Shiny Mega Gengar. (Guess I have a thing for white ghosts!)

Mega Gengar getting Shadow Tag and having the Mean Look eye stamped on his head is pretty clever.

Can anyone recommend something that can take some hits and does good damage? These speed boost goons are annoying as hell

Thinking Goodra or Dragonite

Man, I fought a Cofagrigus in the Battle Maison and I fell in love with his incredible design all over again. I want to figure out how to make that thing viable!
