It is all relative.

Guilty Gear looks pretty amazing to me.

is that cod ghosts?

Man, I'm not sure how I feel about the game's visuals. The character models are wonderful and most of the stages are pretty cool by themselves, but the transitions from one move to another during a combo are still just as bad as their 2d games and the characters look like they are lit the same way on every stage, so they don't look like they fit together. It's a bit of a mess. :x

Looks fun though.
The bold part is actually the entire point. The animations are purposefully missing plenty of frames to simulate 2D. I personally wish there were a few less cinematic camera angles, because we'd really be able to see that better.

Is this the Arcade version of NGBC or something? I don't recall these stages in the XBLA ver...

Yeah the arcade/PS2 versions of NGBC have different stages than the XBLA release. I dunno why they got changed though I know some stages in the old versions suffer from really bad slowdown.

Do you mean the LAAkira one, when it was on levelup? I think it was him and it was there.

Damn, I want to watch it now as well. I forgot where it was/who did it.

I don't know, I remember watching it on youtube (I think). It wasn't really so much a tutorial as it was just explaining what made VF different from other fighting games. Really got me into the series. The only ones I can find now are from when he was on First Attack.

prequel. after sam loses his wife, he takes her broken night vision goggles and turns them into tri goggles in anguish and stuff.

that third light represents his wife, and he carries it with him always in a very gravely, solemn Ironside voice

except now with 100% less Ironside because reasons(mocap?)

Yatagarasu on Vita/PS4/XB1 is the old version, not the new kickstatered one, right?

Why the hell would they do that?
Nicalis tends to turn all of their releases into a massive clusterfuck, and I question the release schedules of these low-rent publishers until it actually happens. Where's my US X360 release of Phantom Breaker and Vanguard Princess??? Actually you can keep the former.

That's going to lead to some hilarious confusion if/when Yatagarasu:AoC ends up expanding beyond the PC.

Nicalis was behind the cave story clusterfuck, right?

you're wrong

you're welcome

edit: you're wrong about thinking it's killer instinct. it's cod. have you SEEN the dog!?
There is going to be a lot of upset customers tomorrow when they find out Cod has been changed into a fighting game at the last minute.

Ha, I suppose. I'm not saying it looks awful or anything with that comment though. That's mostly with regards to the character lighting which just irks me a lot because it looks like they're not part of the environment they're in, so it feels messy (Marvel is another example of this). I do sort of think it looks good, but personally I'd like it if it was all better blended together just a little more.

Yeah, I get why they might doing it, but it would be nice to put a few more in there somewhere. I'm not sure if that would affect the gameplay or if it's something beyond the limits of their budget/time. But, right now it generally feels like you're seeing only the end frame whenever you're going from one normal to another when hitting an opponent.

Doing a weekly FGC podcast would be fun. I dunno who would be on or what we'd talk about, though.

"God's Beard!" - Host, mascot and People's Chump
Sixfortyfive & nycfurby - Streamer Insight
Satyamdas - Voice of Reason
Vulva - Token Canadian and Player Handicapper

with Special Guests DBJ and Axis to discuss being arguably top 8 in the US

next week's episode: MarkMan talks about why FilthieRich isn't very good at Jojo's Bizarre Adventure

there have been people that been given the express lane for account approval.

Sweet Johnny Cage, Rolando, and a few more were given that when Jaxel posted the whole FGC thing.

That whole episode was too hasty in multiple regards in hindsight and I'd wager is the reason why nobody else in the FGC has gotten fast-tracked, lol

ehhhhh. I actually think the opposite. It put the whole Jaxel thing in question. Without SJC and Rolando, there was no way to confirm or deny Jaxel post. It was literally a one way argument.

I think what that whole "incident" showed was that we can't be to quick to believe any singular person and its best to hear directly from the parties involved.
