I wonder, is there any other character that could evoke the reaction that Snake did in 2006? I'm guessing not, because a large part of that was due to the revelation of third party characters being a factor. Even so, what other characters might get that kind of fevered response?

I would have thought Mega Man would do it, but I was wrong. In hindsight I think that's because he seemed so likely to the point where some people were even taking it for granted. A character to really blow minds would need to be something nobody had expected.

Toon Link is a pretty big face of Zelda having starred in six games. Also Phantom Hourglass is one of the best selling Zelda games in Japan.

To be honest, Mega Man's inclusion in Smash pretty much perfectly fits in line with Capcom's approach to handling Mega Man and its fanbase in recent years. It just happens to be something people actually wanted instead of their usual approach of dropping fecal matter on everyone's heads.

It's something designed to "appease" fans of the series, while not actually requiring almost any work or spending of any money. Capcom probably begged Nintendo to put Megs in this one.

Brawl was 7gb, even less without sunspace. and 3ds games can go as high as 8GB if needed so storage size shouldn't be an issue.

Brawl has 2 stages I actually like. 4 I actually consider all-around enjoyable.

The rest ranges from bland, mediocre, shit or "WHY".

Yeah. If it's the magic angle there are already other contenders like Palutena and Rosalina. So I'd rather see 9-Volt or something with a totally crazy move set.

It's impossible to really judge most of these stages so far since we haven't seen them in motion extensively. The Pilotwings planes will be constantly banking, Dr. Wiley's stage will probably have enemies like Yellow Devil dropping in, there's a 99.99999% chance of Ridley terrorizing the Pyrosphere, etc. After all, it's the random elements that Smash Brothers stages are known for...
