VGXtreeeeme nominees are up (GOTY: Mario, TLOU, GTA5, Bioshock, Tomb Raider?)

Does this mean we're going to get one of those cutscenes where Mario thanks everybody for the nomination like other games have gotten in recent years? That'd be one of the highlights of the show for me.
 
It's kind of funny to see people arguing over The Last of Us or GTA 5, when in actual fact history will probably show The Wonderful 101 to be the actual GOTY (Unless Super Mario 3d World takes it).
 
My best friend is as casual as can be. He owned an original Xbox and sold it when he was 16.(21 now) Since then everything he played was splitscreen Halo with me on my Xbox360.
But I borrowed him my Ps3 to play TLOU and he loved it and he also played GTA V on my Ps3.

I asked him and he said that GTA V was more gamey and a lot of fun, but TLOU was the better experience.

I concur.

Only nominated for the fame. They keep doing this every year, no matter how good the actor/actress was. They hope they eventually show up and improve the ratings, although none of them fortunately are stupid enough to ever show up for this embarrassment of an award show.

That being said, Dafoe did well at the end, but not enough material to earn a vote. There are indeed many other actors in Beyond and elsewhere that deserved the nomination way more. But what can you do, at least Page was amazing and deserves to be up there.

I've played all of the GOTY nominees cept for Mario.

TLOU should definetly be crowned the GOTY. GTAV was awesome but didn't leave a big impact on me as TLOU did.

TR shouldnt be even on there.

Well, it was an experience of: a shitty soundtrack, forgettable characters(worse sidekicks than GTAIV), protagonists I didn't give a shit about, linear as fuck "heists" that weren't even heists, horrible day1 issues with SocialClub, don't get me started on the state of MP, etc.

I put my vote in for BioShock: Infinite. It's the only game that I've played over the past few years that made go like this,

I've actually spoken to a lot of people in person who weren't that thrilled with the soundtrack. I don't remember GTAIVs a lot to know if there's any reason that was preferable.

^Infinite's ending was great (if not predictable), but everything surrounding that factor (story and gameplay)dragged it down.
 
I hope "Will The Circle Be Unbroken" just to have Courtney and Troy sing it live. Won't happen, Sleepwalking will probably win (not that I'm angry about it, I love it).

They better, THEY REALLY BETTER NOT GIVE awards in the red carpet. It's downright insulting to the actors and developers.

Well those people are wrong.

GTA V's soundtrack makes that game. It's the perfect selection of songs. Not only that, but the original music for the game is great as well.

Sorry Titanfall, had to give Destiny my vote for most anticipated.

Also hoping for TLOU and a close second being gta v for GOTY.

I think he's just guessing, I kind of suspect that either the rename's unrelated or they'll even downplay the awards aspect in favor of game unveilings and general fuckery.
 
I was really hoping this was going to be the first year in a long time I had played all 5 GOTY nominees, damn you Mario! I guess I'll play it once I've gotten a Wii U

They'll spend more time talking to some fan blogger in the audience then they will on some of the awards they hand out.
Expect more "red carpet interviews with, oh btw, here's your award" moments this year.

Something had to get that 5th nomination slot. They weren't going to lower themselves to granting that honor to a... ewww... hand-held game. They're above that manner of filth. They regard hand-held predominant gamers with even more disdain than they do Nintendo fans.
 
Kinda embarrassing for MS that all the nominees for best 360 game are multi-plat. They totally mailed it in as a first party this year...
 
How do some of you guys not understand that the judges are reviewers who have played all the games nominated? 3D World should have just as much a chance as any other game.

The Last of Us is my game of the year. Game of last gen really.

Tomb Riader isn't the best of anything, in any year. One of the blandest, one note games to be released in recent memory. In the bottom five of games released last gen. Hated it from nearly start to finish.

MGR would make people happy and be a worthy nomination. I wouldn't even agree personally (Killer is Dead is my favorite action game this year), but it would make sense.
 
The Last of Us deserves GOTY without a doubt, I feel like it's a really good list overall, except for the RPG and Casual games categories which had nothing of interest to me in either.
