Live countdown to major Persona team announcement from Atlus [Summary in OP]

Would anybody like to post the best tracks of Persona 1 & 2? Sadly I am not that familiar with these games (only watched a playthrough of both P2s). :(

I haven't played much of P1, but have played both games of Persona 2 some of the favorites off the top of head would be

For Innocent Sin

P2:!S PS1 Opening
Maya's theme
Knights of the Holy Spear
P2:IS Boss theme
Maya's Death
P2:IS Final Boss theme

For Eternal Punishment

Maya's Theme for EP
Abandoned Factory
Aoba Park
Morimoto Hospital - Sanitarium
Monad Mandala
P2:EP Final Boss theme
Change Your Way

I like how P2 had different songs playing in the velvet room. As much as I like Poem of Everyone's Soul it gets old listening to it over and over.

I specially like Erik Satie's Gymnopedie #1.
I like the remix of Poem that plays during Marie's awful poetry segments in P4G.

Also the nighttime song and the new opening song are pretty legit.

Sorry I've got P4G on the brain hard right. Been playing it at least 6 hours a day since getting my Vita on Monday.

Every day is great at your Junes! ~

Similar to the very first screen that the stream showed:

Now it just has this:

I'm gonna guess what it says knowing nothing of the Japanese language: "Shit's starting soon."

What do you guys think of actually getting a person fluent in English to sing songs that are mostly in English? Or is Engrish part of the charm?

Engrish is definitely part of the charm for me. It would feel a little weird if someone fluent in english sung on some persona tracks, but it's nothing I couldn't get used to.

You mean like this?

You guys who never played Persona 1 or 2 but played P3FES or P3P may know SOME Persona 1 and 2 songs already, BEHOLD:
(Well, I'll use the P3 versions, and the updated versions of the P2 songs in the PSP versions, even though some of them are worse.)

Pretty neat how they are all completely different than the original songs.

They actually decided to let Ryota Kozuka compose it. Hope you like 80s synth!
(This would be amazing.)

Kozuka will probably compose a few tracks like he did for P4.

More jazz influences in the Persona soundtrack, please - Meguro does pieces with bits intermixed so well, but having a more overtly jazz-influenced soundtrack would tickle me to a T
eddie
.

Hope you played the Raidou games then (especially 2).

Atlus should consider it with dat Sega Sammy money. I thought having proper English lyrics worked really well in Eternal Punishment.

I think it could go either way. The quality of the music is what matters most. So, having the right singer instead of more understandable lyrics is more important.

Well as far as P3 goes Lotus Juice's rapping is pretty fluent. It would work just fine as long as the songs were composed with proper English in mind. For example, I don't think the Engrish songs in P3/P4 would flow as well if the singers were singing in fluent English.

Also Change Your Way is awesome.

I always thought making sense of the misheard engrish was half the fun of it.

I mean come on, didn't you guys smile every time you hear..."YOUR AFFECTION... YOUR AFFECTION....TO KICK A PUPPY!"
well, if you didn't before, you're gonna start now.

Don't forget "CALIFORNIA POTATO POWERS! KETCHUP RAINING ALL OVER THE WOOORLD!"

Good times...good times.

Dammit, I can't find one of the best dungeon themes in the entire series that is Kasugayam High (Innocent Sin - PSP). I can only find the original version that really isn't as good. Guess that Youtube Persona purge was particularly felt for P1 and P2 OST.

I agree, the remake version is great.
I think this is it.

It was also in Flower, Sun, and Rain.

I actually thought Burn my dread was Burn myself. Seriously, I don't even understand how they made it sound like that.

Are we expecting the graphics for Persona 5 to be at least as good as Catherine's?

I understand that they're not using the same engine so it might look slightly different.

I think I know what you mean. There's a certain logic to the lyrics (with instruments supporting those lyrics) of a person who isn't fluent in English, they make these weird leaps in pronunciation to try and get certain words to rhyme which contributes to the unique identity of those songs. Since the music is supporting the weird lyrics they also sound a bit unique.

Argh I am not good with musical terms, I sound like an uncultured swine.

They opted out of catherines engine for something that suited Persona more(an in-house engine), right? so I expect it to be at least catherine level graphics.

Dude, everytime you ask a person to sing the lyrics of either P3 or 4, it always changes the way you hear it from then on, also... we normally like to interpret it as Burn my Bread.

Depends on the system. On PS3 or above, certainly. On 3DS or iOS (shudders), definitely not. On Vita, close but maybe not up to snuff.

Depends on the platform. My biggest hope is that the in game character models reflect the characters' actual appearances instead of the simplified PS2 models.

I have the OST. I can reupload it if necessary.

It's a bummer that so much of it got removed from Youtube. It'd probably be too much effort or whatever for you to upload all of it, though.

Still, listening to the PSP's version of Kasugayama High feels good.

You know, I often wonder if they just have singers spit out a bunch of syllables and then make up the lyrics after the fact to somewhat fit the sounds.

Nah, just that track. Unless people start clamoring for all of it.

As an aside, I hated the nicknames for the school in both translations, K'assu-gay-ama was just dumb, and Cuss High was silly.

You know what ? I can't believe that it didn't hit me before, but goddamn is it disappointing that Heartsdale has broken up, because they would be perfect for Persona music.

See this

This is fluent English from native Japanese. This is the level of quality I am demanding.
