Well, now I don't know what to think.
Who knows. However, my stream is back up and should stay up permanently now.

Oh wow, that's...even more ambitious than I anticipated. Seriously did they use that engine for anything else other than Catherine then?
How do you know?Persona 5 is on a new engine.
So they're broadcasting this live across several public mega-screens across Japan?
How can this be anything other than Persona 5? Surely the cost and the pomp and ceremony precludes a minor or trivial announcement?
It has to be Persona 5 at the very least.
Interesting. Guess this is a console game for ps360?

Most likely. (Maybe Sega will even make them port it to PC)Interesting. Guess this is a console game for ps360?

No and that's why it's taken them nearly 3 years to show off a new Persona game

If they announce 5 but no HD collection of 3 and 4 I'm off to Amazon to buy them.

Why not just get Golden instead? That sort of counts as an improvement to the originals.
Wonder if they plan to get as much mileage out of this engine as they did with Nocturne's assets. In that regard, cross-gen may make sense as Persona 5 is only being announced -- not even released -- at the tail end of this generation and having also everything updated and ready for PS4 (?) will set the trend and hopefully we can get Persona 6 earlier than it's taking for us to get Persona 5.Though I'm obviously getting ahead of myself here
Atlus constantly runs sales for the Persona games on PSN.
Yeah, but I'd like to have the case and manual. The PS2 versions are cheap right now. Can get both for under $30 and new.
Make sure you get Persona 3 FES and not the original.
where will your awaken power of the frigging wild card take me?!?!?!?!
possibly to a p5 announcement!
believe!

No Vita, don't want one either. *duck*

Is that the one to get? I've had what seems to be an equal number of people split between FES and P3P, then the P3P crowd is split between the male and female MCs.
I'm surprised at how often people overlook it, but there was just as long a gap between P2 and 3 as there ultimately will be between P4 and 5.
The difference is that Persona is profitable now, so the gap seems weird. Especially given that they rereleased the entire series during that gap.
Agreed. It's taken too long regardless of the reasoning.
Good point. Maybe they'll give PS4 the 'FES/Golden' treatment a year later then? But that's leaving the Vita behind (which is an obvious candidate for that kind of treatment). Unless it's PS3/Vita for the original release.I don't believe they have the resources to build a cross gen game.
Indeed, still, if that's their way of compensating for the 'delay' then it has actually worked as anticipation for P5 has been building up for a good while. The difference is that Persona is profitable now, so the gap seems weird. Lets hypothetically say that Atlus had the resources for a PS4 version.Good point. Maybe they'll give PS4 the 'FES/Golden' treatment a year later then? But that's leaving the Vita behind (which is an obvious candidate for that kind of treatment). Unless it's PS3/Vita for the original release.
It probably would've come a lot sooner had they not realized how much money they could make through enhanced ports, merchandising and animes.

They likely had to out of necessity, given Index's financial issues.

They were still able to make multiple enhanced versions of Persona, SMT4, a new engine and Catherine during the period between the original P4 and now.
Yes. Streaming don't work too hot on the subway.Lets hypothetically say that Atlus had the resources for a PS4 version.
Would they even need a handheld version of Persona anymore since the Vita could just stream off the PS4?
Who knows. However, my stream is back up and should stay up permanently now.![]()
Do you have a link to your stream? I can't find it for some reason.

I'm hoping for Vita, but I'll take anything.
They should make it a PS2 game, for shits and giggles. Everyone would freak out. "We haven't abandoned the PS2 yet! You thought it was crazy to release a major PS2 game in 2008? The madness had just begun!"
And I'd imagine most of those weren't as costly production wise and were needed to bring in enough revenue to keep things running and continue funding longer term development.
