Also, if it is really a more mature/dark game, it could finally give people the option to date boys as well (when playing as one) and date girls (if there is a new FeMC).

I believe I bought it at $20 with a PS+ sale? But yes, I'd be surprised if it didn't get free especially with these P4 fan service games coming out in the near future.

I never claimed anything, and even "credible" people can be wrong you know. Seriously, you're telling me Atlus waited a whole generation to make the game just to switch to PS4 development before the console is even out? Considering their history on past games, does this seem plausible? Unless Sony money-hatted them, thats probably the most bone headed decision they could make.

Don't know why Persona 4 and now 5 release on old tech when new tech is available. This game would move a lot of consoles. I'm not saying make it a PS4 exclusive, but surely a port must be a fairly simple process. By the time Persona 4 came out, a lot of people weren't really interested in playing a PS2 game. It must have had some sort of impact on sales.
Anyway, end rant. Persona 3 and 4 are my all time favourites. I'm officially hoping that 'Winter 2014' means Atlus is ready to release this in a couple months...even though it must mean next Christmas. Loving the red motif.

Japan tends to be slow to adopt new home console tech so it is projected that the PS3 market will be bigger then the PS4 market in japan at this time. I expect the western market will have mostly adopted the PS4 at this point but they aren't selling to the english market.
As far as the red motif, bets on the name of the definitive version? My guess is either Crimson or Blood

So it was a PS4 game? They should go cross gen with Persona 5.
I know it's just a rant, but being the stickler in the mud, here: the bolded concerns Atlus how? They're a game development company; as much as having a viable and healthy console ecosystem for the next generation would be good for them, they don't really have any interest in promoting console sales. They just want to make sure that they target consoles that will see good return.
The same team still handling the current Persona.

People felt this way about a PS3 version of P4, and it never happened.
You know, we only ever got a PS1 and PS2-level Persona (I guess PSP Persona 3 would be closer to what a 3DS persona would look like). Now we're going to get a PS3 level Persona, that should be a nice jump. Even though they're not using the engine in Catherine, that's still a good indication of what is possible for the game to look like at full scale - and that still excites me.
And IF the game was on Vita or PS4 and moved, there is no reason why a version still can't come out for those platforms once this one is successful. It just means a longer wait.

For those of us who don't follow all of the Persona community posts, are you saying that P5 was rumored to be on PS4 at some point, or that it was being developed for some entirely different platform?

I'm assuming a port to PS4 wouldn't be a difficult process, based on what other developers have said. Releasing on two consoles would probably result in more copies sold...so in the short term it's good news for Atlus.
Devil's advocate being that they could probably release an enhanced next-gen port down the road and sell even more than if it was multi-gen at launch. Anyways, I guess it's not even worth talking about at this point.
