The Zelda assist in the last game was Tingle, right? Obviously Tingle is out of assist status and is now his own character.

Are people expecting Brawl assists to return, or a whole new set? Or both? I think a whole new set would be nice, but I hate losing any content, regardless of what it is

Mewtwo seems like the most likely, but Mewtwo isn't really a newcomer. Where is all the new blood? Either way, I hope there are some more villains added. They make event match themes so much better.

A lot of people seem to think that but Dog's laugh is just harsh encouragement. Stop sucking or get laughed at. It's tough love.

I'm very pleased that Sakurai finally confirmed Assist Trophy and he look great. I had some people telling me that Assist Trophy wouldn't come back for SSB4, and it's annoying to hear that.

I think it'll be half returning half new for assist trophies.
Stuff like SimCity I don't see returning though someone like Waluigi if he isn't a character still will more than likely remain a trophy.

I'm expecting a few cuts. Little Mac seems like he'll be moved up to playable status, though he could have another Punch Out character replace his AT role. Gray Fox may be cut but that all depends on Snake. Others may just be cut for no specific reason.

But the ducks aren't doing anything villainous in particular. They're just flying around, minding their own ducky business being ducks, when suddenly they get shot.
As a matter of fact, I would say the player is more of a villain than the ducks.

Holy shit Skull Kid's bringin' the moon down!!! :D

Love that character and Majora's Mask, been wanting him in Smash forever but I knew he wouldn't be playable so assist trophy is a nice surprise.
 
Man I hate assist trophies. Actually they're cool, it's just that they get my hopes up for a second whenever they get revealed. :(
 
I have to admit I'm looking forward to future assist reveals if this is the quality they'll have.

Even if it was only for a second, I was like "wait is this a character?" (obviously I realised he wasn't, cause I don't expect any newcomers outside of reveal trailers)
 
Oh cool, new Assist Trophy & it's Skull Kid. Any predictions as to what he'll do? Think the music will change? Will his attack involve the moon!?
 
Heh, I was like "No way!" the second I saw that image on their official site, but... Marth was still the newest fighter confirmed so that killed those expectations quickly, and the Miiverse post just buried it.

It does look amazing.
 
I'd love for there to be some big character reveal(s) tomorrow, but I dunno. I'm not feeling it. VGX doesn't seem like the place for it unless it's something huge, you know?

What kind of character reveal would you expect to see at something like VGX?

Short trailer for Snake's return is something I picture seeing at VGX. Newcomer wise it'd have to be someone who fits in really well with the audience that'll watch VGX.
 
If there's some kind of Nintendo announcement at VGX, I have a feeling it'll be for something other than Smash. A new Zelda would be what Nintendo needs to get the Wii U hype alive, but who knows.

It's going to be nothing exciting at all and we're all going to be disappointed.
