Where is Rocksteady?

It has been more than two years since Arkham City released. I expected them to announce their new game at VGX, but after watching it I wasnt really suprised they didn't. I hope they announce something soon, it was rumored that they would release a game in 2014.

around GDC time is when game announcement season starts

Busy being awesome.

We'll probably soon hear something from them. They wouldn't want to spoil the attention for Arkham Origins, right?

I remember that one Paul Gale rumor that claimed Rocksteady were working on a TMNT game.

I really wish that was a thing.

Hopefully working on that full open world Batman/Superman game with full Gotham city complete with Batmobile and full Metropolis. Both cities explorable by both characters. Also with completely new artstyle.

right?

I read this rumor the other day, Didn't want to make a thread since the site is unknown.

It comes to no surprise to learn that eventually, the Batman series will add a new title to its long-lasting franchise. After speaking with a source connected within Warner Bros. Interactive, we learned that the developers responsible for Arkham Asylum and Arkham City are currently working on a new project. From what we've heard, the next game of the series will be called Batman: Arkham Knight.

Batman: Arkham Knight, like Arkham City will feature an open world map. However, players will be able to gain a little more freedom than what was given to them in Arkham City. In addition, the artistic style is set to resemble those of Arkham City.

Hopefully ready to take the series another massive step forward like City was while at the same time learning from the Origins team on how to make a good story and have a good Batman character (although Conroy seems to be back for this so that's not going to happen).

Takes a long time to make a Batman and The Justice League game.

lol. What does a voice actor, THE voice actor for batman to many, have to do with a good character? I mean, you're insinuating that TAS/Justice League/JLU batman isn't a good character with this statement.

You really do hate everything.

(although Conroy seems to be back for this so that's not going to happen).

I dunno why you always seem so intent on blaming Conroy for the Arkham games...

Conroy can only be as good as his source material, and the writing/dialog in the arkham games is atrociously bad and cringeworthy.

Give them time.

Let them take the Arkham universe in wonderful, new, innovative directions!

Their simple/excellent combat system was later adapted by many different titles throughout this generation.

I'm sure they're developing something. Something Batman related?

Kevin Conroy dropped the bomb a few months back, that he was working with Rocksteady on a new Batman game.

I hope that we see a new villain at the forefront now, and someone mentioned Hush. YES PLZ!

Secret project.

So secret we've known about it for like 6+ months now :P

Working away at getting the most out of Unreal Engine 4, hopefully.

Doubtful considering Warner paid out the ass back when Arkham City came out for that perpetual UE3 license. My bet that if anything it's going to be like CoD4 and the Quake engine is today, just UE3 at the core with lots and lots of patchwork Rocksteady tech hacked in over the top to the point the UE3 part of the engine is basically unrecognizable.

Then again, stranger things have happened in the VG world so eh who knows, but I wouldn't think they'd shell out all that money for that perpetual license if they're only going to do 2 games with it.

All the have to do is have a story director to push Conroy to deliver his lines like they actually matter, Troy Baker said without Naughty Dog's creative team his delivery as Joel wouldn't have been what it was in TLOU.

The Arkham series suffers from messy plots and some bad dialogue though, I agree (haven't played Origins but it's a bit of step-up from what I hear). However, there's some fantastic voice talent in the villains department, The Riddler's voice actor is spot-on and even better than his TAS version which takes skill.

almost assuredly taking their time to make the next evolution in the Arkham series. Conroy all but spelled it out he was working on the next one. Maybe we'll see it around GDC.

Lol he didn't toy around with it, he flat out said "I'm working on Arkham 3, *NOT* Arkham Origins", and considering the tweet was gone within the hour he made it I'd assume it's pretty safe to say it's true.

As much as I love Bman I want an original game from Rocksteady but really whatever it is I'm super excited. Definitely the most surprisingly awesome studio to come out of last gen, and yes I am aware they made Urban Chaos on PS2 but no one saw them knocking it out of the park with Batman. TWICE!

A Green Arrow game would make big bucks seeing as how everyone and their mother loves the tv show adaptation (Arrow) of the comic book. Also bow and arrows have been a trend in gaming for a while now.

Though the combat/exploration might be a bit too similar with the batman games... Soooo... Superman game?

Batman Arkham Universe

Takes place in an Elsewords future where Arkham Asylum is a space station and you play as a futuristic cyborg Batman.

Believe their next Batman sequel game is cross-gen and due late 2014, so I would be surprised if it didn't get revealed soon.
