Fighting Games Weekly | Dec 9-15 | Funding Nemo? Not yet...

I really hope there's just a big surprise of the curtain raising after the AE champ is crowned with Daigo standing there.

And then FT10 with Daigo.

And after Daigo wins the FT10, Gandhi comes out from the dark and challanges Daigo

"now try to read MY mind, motherfucker!"

Daigo not being at Capcom Cup just seems wrong. Can his FT10 wins against Xian and Infiltration count as Money in the Bank matches or something?

Daigo for the final boss would be amazing.

And if somebody beats him and wins a round with a perfect? You need to face Bonchan who is using USF4 Sagat.

The surprise twist will be that AE is actually going to be an 8 man ladder match.

But Daigo comes in at the last minute and Shoryuken's his way up the ladder instantly.

If Capcom are doing anything to Marvel it would be a paid update, so that reduces our options quite a bit.

1) Paid DLC expansion. A small number of new characters, mechanics reworks, maybe one or two new stages.
2) New gen console release of some kind, with a balance patch in tow which would apply to the versions on both gens.
3) A new Marvel game entirely.

This is assuming that Capcom don't just give the community a patch because they are feeling nice.
Reasonable expectations here. I think next gen console release should only be expected for SF.

Getting MvC4 before SF5 might make sense too if it's primarily outsourced, but MvC3 is still so relatively fresh and I'd think they'd want to distance it from UMvC3's blunder a bit. No matter what if we get a patch it's going to be a paid update with more than just characters; that's easy to infer looking through how Capcom's DLC approaches have evolved over the course of this gen.

What's the source for this. I've not seen anything to this effect anywhere.
At about 3 minutes into this interview. Pretty much every interview they did around this time indicated they were trying to build something sustainable, starting with these one off events. They dipped their hands into WCG and this

Also, this week has me hyped for Capcom Cup.
I have reasons.
What do you know that we don't know?

Ooh, thanks so much for these. I couldn't watch on saturday and i was wondering how the aquasilk/sanford thing ended~

(PS. Hi FGC GAF. New here. o/ )
hai squirrel

as with every other new junior, dont get banned

Why do people think or want Chris G to win AE?

This is a USA USA type thing right? Right?
He plays Sakura.

Daigo as the final boss would be dumb. He had his chance and didn't make the cut. I hope they don't pull that shit.
Flocker had his chance and the majority agreed nobody wanted to see that shit. They already "pulled that shit."

It's not as if Daigo would be getting a shot at the Capcom Cup championship or anything. Just an exhibition against the winner would be cool to see, I think. And since Daigo doesn't know who it'll be, he won't be able to train like crazy for his opponent like he did in the FT10s.

Two wrongs make a right?

Marvel is an invitational, anyway. Pretty different, though not entirely different.

What two wrongs? Flocker isn't in the Capcom Cup either.

Why wouldn't you want to see Daigo play the winner in an exhibition? Daigo vs Sako or Haitani in a long set? Yeah that would be awful.

Cause Daigo intentionally skipped multiple qualifiers. Flocker simply didn't make it because it was a vote, and no one actually wants to see Zero.

Not yet, anyway.

Deligitimizes the qualifiers and tournament to an extent.

"Congratulations, you qualified for this tournament, then came in and won over all the other qualifiers. Now you have to play a dude because he's super-famous even though he got merked in like the 2nd round of his qualifying tournament."

Not like it's a huge deal or anything, but it's dumb.

if daigo was to be the final boss then they would have announced it already. kinda messed up to just spring something like that onto you when you are in the glory of winning capcom cup.

He got knocked out in a single elimination tournament by a Viper player.

Chris G also lost in his qualifier, is his entry now non-legit? Or is it just that the whole qualifier process was kind of bullshit anyway with limited tournaments in very select regions.

It is all for a bit of fun and to promote Capcom and SF4. Having Daigo there and playing at the end would only be a good thing.

Well he should've went to another qualifier then, but he didn't.

Sorry guys. Daigo will not be at Capcom Cup.

There were some discussions about having him there but he is unable to make it. You'll see him again before the end of the year for sure though (online at some event).

I wonder if Capcom will announce any partnership this weekend. MLG is on Smash so I don't know if there any other esports to team up with.

Capcom will finally announce they are teaming up with The EMP cup.

2014, 100 tournaments and over $200 million in prizes *

* Prizes may be made up from a combination of cash and EMP training vouchers

:(

I really haven't been up with things lately, is the Nemo moneymatch stuff being streamed? I'm assuming they're not going to run the actual money matches on the Capcom Cup, so I'm guessing salty suite somewhere?

I was curious myself- what's the deal with this? I honestly care more about the money match stuff than Capcom Cup proper.

tbh, it feels like Chris G autopilots AE a lot. It might be because of the character but it never really feels like he's making an active role or really thinking about the match as he plays like other folks.

I think some of you guys are underestimating ChrisG's adaptation and thinking. He doesn't just pick a character that steamrolls. To qualify for Capcom Cup, he beat Justin Wong in 6 straight matches coming from loser's. You don't get to do shit like that by just "autopilot".

It's the same thing in Marvel. His Morrigan movement, placement, and calls are one of the smartest things you can watch in the game. Watching sets between he and Filipino Champ are amazing because you can actually see the cogs turning and the changes in playstyle.

That said, I don't think he's going to win CapcomCup in AE.

Couldn't stream tonight due to my internet being lol, but yaaaaaay:

I was worried I'd be stuck at 1.5k PP hell for a while longer as I grinded out some basic flaws in my gameplay, but I got 2k PP tonight! :D

The points obviously don't mean anything, but it's a little moral victory. I'm still losing to random Ryu guys though. -_-
