3DS Update Now Available: Adds Miiverse, L+R to activate camera, etc

I am miiverse master

Really impressed at the speed and quality of it. Obviously not as good as the Wii U version it still loads very quickly on 3DS and images looked nice and it's wonderful to have a 3D option. Had no issues linking my NNID.

My balance between Eshops hasn't combined, but then again I can't even access it on 3DS.

Overall very nicely done though outside of posting and viewing 3DS games I won't use it on 3DS as the mobile version of Miiverse is already very good and easier to type.

So how do I add friends? Noticed it when looking at my profile on my phone but see no way to do it on my 3DS

Talking about Miiverse friends, not friend code friends

I created my NNID one a friends Wii U. I linked that one to my 3DS just now. Reading around the settings info, it seems the only way to deactivate a NNID from a system is via System Format. I don't want to make my friend do thay just to free up my NNID. Can I delete it and then remake it?

Would doing so effect my 3DS's eShop downloads? I haven't bought anything after the 3DS update, I never even used it on his Wii U and I don't have any wallet funds. However, I do have a decent amount of 3DS eShop purchases from before the update.

If you delete your NNID you'll lose everything you've bought on the eShop. On the Wii U, even if you remove it from your friends console, tight now the only way to move it to another Wii U is to have Nintendo support do it for you. So, until you get a Wii U yourself that you'll want to use your NNID on, there's no real reason for you to deactivate your ID from his console.

Oh, so when I get my own Wii U I can contact Nintendo and get them to transfer it over without any hassle? I have no Wii U eShop purchases, so that should make things simplier I hope.

I hope they will eventually add a way to filter the activity feed by posts from Wii U or 3DS. I want to view the 3DS photos with the 3D effect.

As an FYI so far:

Miiverse does not replace the 3DS-native friends list yet. However. You can follow users on Miiverse in addition to actually adding them to a friends list. The follow function appears to be supported on 3DS Miiverse. Go to a user's post and click on their Mii to view their profile page. There should be a drop-down box to "follow". You can follow 1000 people on Miiverse.

Since there's no access to the Miiverse private friend message system through 3DS yet, "following" is adequate for starting to track folks. Followed users should show up in your Miiverse activity feed. I believe you can also make a Miiverse post directly to your activity feed so that only friends and people following you can see and reply to it.

For the moment, it appears that posting to your activity feed and replying to posts there may function as a general replacement for swapnote, in terms of sending and receiving basic messages to those you're trying to contact.

I haven't done it myself, so I do't know exactly what information they'll need (I think there's a separate thread about it) but yeah, they should be able to do it pretty easily.

Eh its something

Thanks for clarifying :) the app will probably get some use out me now

It should be added to the OP that the Nintendo linking (account) lets you view your history of downloads now, which can be downloaded again if needed.

EXCELLENT. This is the feature i've wanted over miiverse.

Seems like I'm still able to keep my eShop region to Alberta, Canada for cheaper taxes while my NNID region is set to Ontario, Canada for accuracy. I'm hoping Nintendo doesn't notice.
