Media Create Sales: Week 48, 2013 (Nov 25 - Dec 01)

So the only way that Vita can sell/go h2h against 3DS is a yearly price drop with lots of games during 2 months? What's stopping Nintendo for dropping the price on the 3DS to spoil Sonys fun?

good sales

i think they release the 2DS in 2014, this is enough to spoil Sonys fun.

Nintendo needs to profit on something to cover Wii U bleeding money and they need to design next gen handheld soon.

What?

The Vita can't go head to head with the 3DS. Nothing is going to change that. What fun is there to spoil?

Edit:
And they should let Sony have the market
lol
for them self if Vita really takes off?
Wait, what?!

Have I missed a series of major announcements or something? Why is this being floated as a viable scenario?

I'm waiting for a kind soul to make a list first, but yes, sounds like another big push from Sony.

... or simply, March/April is the first really busy period after the holiday season? Sounds pretty normal to me, wasn't it the same last year? Maybe they'll try dropping the price again, but how low can they go?

Last year there was price drop at end of February and all bigger games got grouped around it.

Also famousmortimer was hinting west will get Vita 2000 next year alongside another price drop so I'm guessing they would also drop prices in Japan.

I have no hopes to get up. I'm just enjoying this current 20k+ per week period while it lasts. I'm just trying to fathom where this talk of a miraculous turnaround is coming from, because it's pure fantasy.

Obligatory:

Oh? I thought they already had launched the 2000 model already.

The idea of Vita going to head to head with 3DS in Japan is about as reasonable as the idea of Wii U outselling PS4 in the UK next year.

Launching Vita 2000 in the West will amount to absolutely nothing. The design or the materials of the product aren't flawed, it's just wrong at a basic fundamental concept level for Western markets.

http://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/bestsellers/2013/videogames/

P&DZ is the #11 best selling game on Amazon in 2013, and it's not even out yet. :rip:

Isn't Amazon.co.jp pretty irrelevant at this point? Both Lightning Returns and 3D World were number 1 bestsellers before they launched and we know how that turned out

Granted, I'm not sure if this affects handheld games as well

Yup. I don't even think price has that much of an impact any more. It's been more or less equal to 3DS XL for a good while if you're smart about deals.

*with another price drop.

PCH 2000 in the west is inevitable when they run out of PCH 1000 stock. It's so much cheaper for them to manufacture.

<Satire>The weather was favourable this week</satire>

Great result. Rises for everything that isn't Vita TV...decent start for GT6 and nice bump for Wii U. 3D World is holding steadily, too

Is the holiday effect afecting the Wii U unproportionally high? It seems a bit strange.

What am I seeing? a Japanese Wii U third-party title over-performing. It's the only Wii U release with a 80% sell-through or higher.

Gran Turismo 6 didn't bomb as hard as I expected and Inazuma Eleven series is done.
