Super Smash Bros Wii U and 3DS Thread 3: Ridley's Believe It or Not!

Why would that be surprising? We got a trailer more than a year before the game was released that had much more content than the one Sakurai released at E3.
I'm not saying that'll happen, but it certainly wouldn't be something without precedent.

Mostly because this upcoming direct is going to focus on current games and upcoming games throughout Spring 2014. Seeing as how Sakurai confirmed the wait would be longer, I don't think Nintendo will spend too much time on Smash when a simple tease (30 seconds of footage that dances around a newly announced character) would suffice. I believe their focus is to bring in consumers now, and they need to spend their time wisely, hence more of a focus on nearer titles and features.
That said, I can very easily be wrong. I just wouldn't expect more than very little, where Smash is concerned.

No Olimar. Hahaha, I'm glad that he mentioned Direct because some people would be in denial since we didn't get Olimar in the screenshot.
I'd be happy with a new stage. I'd prefer it to what will most likely be a returning character reveal.

Alright, we will get a trailer of newcomers, just like we did for Super Smash Bros Brawl. Where we would get mini-story trailer that would show the 6 newcomers (including first three newcomers that got announced in E3)

As long as it beats 2012 (i.e. The Year of Kid Icarus and some Shit Mario Games), it's good by me. Smash Bros already sets it pretty high.

Toad would have a move set where all of his moves are variations of whimpering, groaning, cowering, ducking while covering his head, and going OH NOOOOO!
I know the cartoon depicted it as a hat, but have the games ever confirmed whether they are just headpieces or that they are actually mushroom headed individuals.
I mean the fact that the spots often reflect their current costume would imply the mushroom top is part of their outfit but it is rather strange to think they convinced a whole nation to sport similar shaped hats.
Oh and there is that gag in All Star's Super Mario Bros where the rescued Toads are all under a giant mushroom top.

I always thought they were, in a way, supposed to be turbans.
Maybe this was just paper mario making that seem like the case, since the desert Toads wear turbans instead of mushrooms (or over their mushrooms? I never really says either way)
