Considering that this is that time of the year when many codes are going to expire in a few days, I suggest you guys go here to avoid cluttering this thread with Zavvi/The Hut codes (of course, your codes are appreciated and I/we are glad you guys are sharing them).

I mean, that thread has been created (upon request from many gaffers) for the sole purpose of leaving this one to just the deals. Just like the Play Asia Coupons' thread.

It's not as bad as it was back then, when between Zavvi and The Hut and whoever else The Hut is, about 100 people in the thread were getting coupons and posting them every other day, and the other half of the thread was people asking for coupons.

They've calmed down a lot sending these things out.
 
Does anyone know if Wii Us are multilingual across Europe? If I buy a Wii U at e.g. amazon.fr or .it, I can set the language to English, and the text on the box and/or console and/or gamepad is in Engllish?

Yes. I bought my Wii U at launch from amazon.fr. You can set up whatever (available) language you want for the system and whatever PAL country for eshop and NNID.

Mine has HOME, POWER and BATTERY. I don't think I saw any gamepad with the labels on the Gamepad in other language than English. Not even the Japanese ones.

Edit: now thinking about it, it would have been cool to have it in French. Le Gamepad. Classy. :))

Thanks guys! I was waiting for it to drop to 230, or the zelda one to 250. But instead the prices have been going up the last week and with my PS4 probably delayed another month I'm thinking fuck it.

edit: crap, no free shipping means it's hardly cheaper.

Went down to HMV today as someone here said it would be 80% off, which it was, on games with yellow stickers.

There were hundreds of Vita games but only a few different titles.
I saw a couple of copies of Rayman Legends and AC:Liberation among them but they weren't stickered, I asked at the counter if they were discounted and was told they should be. Bought a load of games and the guy had to manually apply the 80% discount as it wasn't ringing up on the non-stickered items. I realised after looking at my receipt though that the discount was applied after the stickered items had already been discounted, so I ended up with:

LittleBigPlanet
Lego Harry Potter
Lego Chima
Little Deviants
Rayman Legends x 2
AC: Liberation x 2

for a total of £17.64. Bargain! Wish I'd bought more now for my friends.
 
What is this Nippon-Yasan of which you speak? What's their specialty: good prices, large number of wares, unique items? I assume they're Japanese considering their name.

Reasonably priced importing from Japan.

Playasia is fine, but a lot of their stuff is marked up by quite a bit.
 
With the way Nippon-Yasan packaged my DDP SDOJ Super CE though, I wouldn't feel comfortable using them with anything except FedEx (which I'm glad I did). The parcel box just about fit with no cushioning material at all..
 
Hmmmm this HMV sale sounds promising, I think I may have to pay them a visit tomorrow, mostly because I could do with a replacement DS Lite if they're £20.

How much was that balance board? I know 60% was mentioned but I'm guessing that's not from RRP.
I'm a bit reluctant to get a cheap second hand one for obvious sweat based reasons .
 
Pfft, my HMV was crap. Still 50% off and not much of interest. I do own a lot of games, though. Wish I lived in a bigger town/city with more choice.

They have been quite good in my experience, bar one time, but that was a limited item and normally only available through publisher directly. Otherwise yeah, I've found them to be quite reliable. Well packed for the most part, good selection of shipping options and their prices can be reasonable (usually cheaper than Play-Asia). Not too slow on the responses (except that one time!). Worth giving them a shot if you want to avoid paying PA's mark up.

Yup, black balance board + wii fit plus, RRP 80£, paid 22...
I went yesterday but couldn't find any left, and even less interesting games :/

That's about £334... and I think I could trade in Lego for around £25ish.too. Pretty decent.

I will probably only play Resogun and Don't Starve til March - which is what is holding me back. Although, I don't think I will get that price again by March.

I think I might end up getting it - I have a solid 8 hours to mull it over.

...what's not helping is I feel like I am getting a "deal" on the console - even if it is just a small one.

I played it on 360 - and liked it. My sole reason for buying was to trade and slightly offset the price of the PS4 (which is something I rarely do, but wanted to try here). I might give the early levels a go again - maybe trash stuff around with Hulk - but I cannot see myself playing though a lot of it again, even if it looks better.

The price isn't going to drop for at least 18 months. If you're going to buy it anyway, you might as well buy it now since you're not saving money by waiting.
 
My local Tesco was clearing out a load of entertainment stuff, got Mario Tennis on 3DS for £3.75, there was Batman Arkham Origins and the latest CoD on PC for £3.75 too.

Also, loads of Blu-rays for crazy prices, Die Hard Quadrilogy for £2.50, Frozen Planet for £1.75, Game of Thrones Season 2 for £3.75 etc. etc. etc.

I think my Tesco had already been picked over too.
 
A guy on my facebook is claiming that HMV oxford circus is shutting down and they have an 80% sale. He said he got a Wii U for 25 quid! Going to have to check this out..

The 80% part is true, there will be bargains to be had but it depends entirely on what's left by the time you get there!

Finding a console is very lucky indeed.

Not everything is 80%, and consoles definitely were not, except maybe some old DSs... (there's a 10% on everything and consoles are also excluded from that discount)

If you find yourselves near a toys r us you can ask them to price match their website (£20) if you can find a copy in store.

Not quite as good but that's where I got my copy :)

I think it's been 50% for a week or two, only very recently 80% off.

Two thoughts for you on this the first one is how I got a PS4

In about June there was vouchercode on IWOOT for a discount of 20% off 'anything' , the link was posted to Savygamer and I 'bought' a PS4 on the spur of the moment because it was much cheaper than anywhere else.

The next day they realized their mistake and cancelled all the pre-orders (including mine) so i accepted it and then did not bother with the PS4 until about a week before launch when I got an email from IWOOT telling me that they were preparing my PS4 for dispatch - it was a 'wrong' email as my order was cancelled and I assume it was just a glitch that they were emailing everyone who had ordered but I did wonder 'hey i might have one ordered' and realized that I was fine with that - but i checked and it was definitely cancelled and I didn't think I could get one and that was when I thought that I do really want one :-)

On the day of launch there were posts on hotukdeals about Argos stock being available for launch and I reserved one to collect , left it long enough to make sure the IWOOT one would not turn up accidentally and then went and grabbed it and I dont regret it at all.

So - think about how you will feel tomorrow , or next week if you let this one slip by - if you dont think it will bother you then dont grab it.

If you do think that you'd have liked to grab it then grab it - they are only just coming into stock in a lot of places but your not going to see any sort of discount for them in a long time so even thinking thats a few quid off right now and that you'll get something back on the game then its a bargain !
