The PS3 version has been sitting on my HD and my backlog for a while, and I want to play it since my only experience with the game is the subpar PS2 version back in the day, so I'll probably bite on this PC version just for the performance. I wonder if it will be framerate limited.

That's because people ultimately realized that it's an excellent game in it's own right, even if it was different from the slower paced, more horror focused games that came before.
But even when RE4 came it out was generally received really well.

I have the original PC version, but I will be getting this without hesitation. Hope I can stream it to my Shield for maximum ultimate goodness.
If it's a port of the 360/PS3 versions, only one cutscene in the main game (bridge turn IIRC) and all in separate ways will be pre-rendered. Maybe they changed it, but I wouldn't be surprised if Capcom left them as is.

Haven't Capcom done quite well with 6 and Revelations ports just recently? I know both were part of that short lived reward tier promo where after a certain level of purchases unlocked extras. I think I recall both getting to the third tier in no time at all.

Has nothing to do with Indie games. I just never liked using extra programs to play games. Same goes for Origin, Uplay, windows live and all kind of DRM enforcing mechanics. If i can avoid it and buy it on other ways like on gog i will go for that.

That would be pretty great! It was nice to look at when I was going through Revelations HD to see what I unlocked. Reminds me I still need to find someone to RE5 with so i can get to RE6 already.

I actually didn't play RE4 until the re-release on X-box 360, but it instantly became my favorite Resident Evil. So happy to see it coming to PC proper!

In first glance it looks like it's based on the GC version, at least the character models are not the dumbed down, ugly PS2 models.

Yup, says it does on the Store page, and mentions everything in all previous versions of Resident Evil 4 will be in the game, which also includes multiple language support and Separate Ways.

It looks like they just took the old PC port of the game, made a few modifications and replaced all the old textures with higher resolution ones.
Textures look the same... which is shit.
